Barcelona has not accepted the offer submitted by the Milan this afternoon to hire Ronaldinho, although it has not closed the door to a new meeting with the Italian entity, despite its understanding that the amounts bid by the player are very far from being ready to pay Manchester City

Barca: Dinho talks continue

Barcelona have released a statement confirming negotiations with both Milan and Manchester City are continuing.

“During the day negotiations continued to decide the future of Ronaldinho,” read the official note.

“Representatives of FC Barcelona and the player had several different meetings to discuss the situation.

“The Brazilian has received offers from Manchester City and Milan. The different parties are still negotiating his contract.

“The club maintains its conviction that Ronaldinho will receive the exit he deserves after his great contribution to the side over the past five years.”

According to sources close to Barcelona quoted in Spanish news agency Efe, the club has rejected the £11m bid plus £3.5m 'variable' as still too low.

The player has made it absolutely clear he will only accept a move to Milan, but their bid remains considerably lower than Manchester City's £25.5m.

This evening Rossoneri lawyer Leandro Cantamessa stated that only details” separated Ronaldinho from making the move official.

This suggests negotiations are still on-going and Barca are trying to force Milan's hand to at least go close to the City offer.

Tick the Gamper Trophy as compensation for Dinho

Seesaw news from Spain: second radio Catalan RAC1, the Rossoneri have proposed to participate in free Gamper Trophy 2009, the historic tournament that the Barcelona organizes the Nou Camp every summer, as part dell'affare Ronaldinho. In this case, boasting prestigious un'avversaria so without cachet, the company blaugrana intascherebbe a figure close to two million net box office and TV rights sold throughout Europe.

Dinho, this is what happens at Camp Nou

It was a phone call of President Silvio Berlusconi with Roberto Assis to reopen negotiations that appeared after lunch at Via Veneto, closed, but in the negative: Milan would have obtained a piccato refusal of Joan Laporta to providing 15 million more bonus, which is why Adriano Galliani had left the room dark face. At this point, however, contact between the number 1 rossonero and the brother of Gaucho: Berlusconi would require the availability of player to a small economic effort to raise the offer to the club ... Effort accepted by Roberto Assis and so the offer came to 18 million, plus bonuses. Laporta did not want to hear reasons: wants 20 million and witnesses are prepared to swear a red-hot situation between the number 1 Catalan and the prosecutor of Porto Alegre, so that, as had already happened in the past, the two have arrived but to raise the voice, on the limit of insults. Roberto, on behalf of his brother Ronaldinho, is therefore working to Milan, Adriano Galliani and Ernesto Bronzetti, arrived at a later time: the negotiation at the moment is arenata for two million, which Milan is trying in every way to cover. A final sgarbo of Laporta to Ronaldinho and company via Turati, to enforce the good name of merchants Catalans: for every way, from Spain comes a timid optimism that the situation could turn all'happy ending within an hour ...

Tanslated by google so the English is dodgy.

Still no one has no idea what the hell is going on apperantly. The Spanish media are saying Barca are still rejecting milan's offer the Italian media saying it's nearly done. And the English still BSing on the Man City and Chelsea issue

Looks like it won't be done until tomorrow.

Hopefully we'll know an answer atleast by the end of the week because this is getting ridiculous

He's still under contract, so Barca are right to hold out for more (they'd be stupid if they didn't). It's good that 'dinho is making his preference known though, that will make things easier for us because Barca pretty much have to sell him this summer (not only because of his falling out with the club, but also because they need to raise transfer cash of their own).

No point getting worked up about it - Galliani should hold his ground. Let's wait and see what happens.

Don't know how true this is but it's saying that Ronaldinho in order for Milan to raise their bid was willing accept a wage that would be similar to Brocchi/Emerson etc of 3.5m. But in return Milan will let him travel to the Olympics

As this article says here he will still get bonuses plus 100% control of his image rights which he only gets 50% of at Barca which basically is still a good deal for him

Dinho, ecco perchè i conti tornano

Plus he'll get to go to olympics, his deal will be for 3 years instead of 2. If Milan win UEFA Cup or Serie A he will get a bonus and he will be able to re-negotiate depending on how he perfroms for a better deal next season.

But just the fact that he gats full control of his image rights is a big coup since they ammount to 13m where at Barca he got half of that

What him being allowed to go to the Olympics?

I think it's only fair that Milan allow him to go. He's shown he's willing to do anything to play for Milan, rejecting a huge offer for Man City while earning a wage that is equivelant to Brocchi's. Plus him going to the Olympics would benefit us since he will get playing time and be able to get into shape for the new season
