OK. It's like this, today on AS:

-Milan agents met Roberto de Assis (brother and 10R agent) in São Paulo (Brazil) last week.
-It was on a famous restaurant in the city and they say (guarantee) Assis signed some papers given by the Rossoneri (they were 2) officials.
-Just for curiosity or not... Barcelona officials were on S.Paulo last week too. Coincidence? Maybe yes... maybe not.
-They say it's going to be a meeting next week or so between Assis and FC Barcelona. The renew of the contract or... the end of Catalonia life for Ronaldinho? rolleyes.gif

‘Dinho agent in Milan talks

Friday 27 April, 2007

Ronaldinho’s brother and agent Roberto Assis has met with Milan representatives in Brazil, according to reports in Spain.

The Barcelona star has long since been on the Rossoneri’s wish list, as they have repeatedly stated that if Ronaldinho leaves Barca, it will be to join Milan.

The Brazilian’s contract with the Blaugrana expires in 2010 and all conversations to extend the deal have failed so far, suggesting that a summer move could be on the cards.

Spanish newspaper AS reported on Friday that Assis met two Milan representatives in Sao Paulo last week to discuss Ronaldinho’s future.

In addition, Barca officials Txiki Beguiristain and Ferran Soriano were also sighted in the South American city, fuelling speculation that all the parties involved might be close to reaching an agreement.

Assis is now expected to return to Spain in the next few days, when he is scheduled to hold crucial meetings with the Blaugrana management.

Milan President Silvio Berlusconi had recently claimed that he was ready to spend over £70m to bring the ‘Dinho to the San Siro, reiterating that his club was in pole position to sign the player.

However, the Selecao star cooled all transfer talks on Thursday, declaring that he did not believe he would move in the summer.

£70m is outrageous, I wouldn't sign him for more than Real got Zidane. (Just one penny more to break the record.)

I still wouldn't spend that much, I'd rather spend £70m on about 5 or 6 very good players. Not just one player, especially as he has been very poor for his standards this season.

Problem is: Berlusconi won't spend that money in 5-6 great/top players. I'm sure of it. Only if he radically changes his ideas which I seriously doubt.

Ronaldinho would be an amazing add not only for Milan but for the whole Serie A.

I don't doubt this at all, Ronaldinho has the ability to win games on his own.

This is true !! But then again, what can we do about it ?! Okay, we can start a thread (actually several threads and we have been debating for over a year now, since last season..) ... But then what ?!

If Silvio is taking money out of his own pockets, whoa re we to tell him where tos pend it ?! It isn't from the clubs coffers, so the fans have no say in it at all.

I am not a fan of R10 .. I admire his abilities when he turns the show on, but IMO Gattuso is a more effective player than R10. Still, if Berlusconi comes out and says "I don't want any player, but Ronaldinho" ... Then who am I to say f@ck u I don't want him ??

So I accept it, knowing that this summer he will make a move to Italy. And when he does, I doubt he will be as pampered or given the lime light in Milan; cuz that isn't how this team functions and it is a lot more different than Barca. Carlo will be sure to make him train as hard as his reserve players wink.gif This I am certain off, and who knows, he is 26, his best years could be at Milan cool.gif

No, all those I agree with, but the R10 one I don't see the point in it. Cuz, the president of the club came out and said he wants him above anyone else. So it is just an isolated point, that no matter how u debate it, u have no say in it.

The match threads, news, football discussions, future transfer, etc are all interesting to me .. As I do get some info on things I am not informed about ... Also, I enjoy the debates very much, so there is a reason why I log on to "this place" .. rolleyes.gif

We have say on none transfer... but we can't not talk about it.

Berlusconi likes R20 and thinks he's the one. He may already be a Milan player by now but this the only place to talk about whether we like him or not and such stuff...

To me, it does not make any difference at all that Silvio talks about him all the time. On the contrary, his persistence on this matter makes it even more "juicy"!
Rossoneri7
I don't mean to be an @ss hole or to give off a vibe that I am one tongue.gif

But, u and everyone can say whatever and discuss whichever topic u see fit .. If it is R1o, then talk about it and who knows I might even come to the conclusion that all of u have, that he is not worth it.

But I drew a line between logic and fantasy; when silvio said 100M or 70M or whatever, he ment from his own pockets ... So the logic behind me or anyone telling silvio where he should spend his own money, is in reality stupid. If itw as from Milan coffers, then we ALL have a right to even riot against such an action, 100M on one player ohmy.gif heads would have to roll. But since it's silvio who wants him and silvio who is covering his expenses, then whats the point in discussing where he should spend it .. u dig tongue.gif of course u do, I'm repeating myself to piss u off biggrin.gif

No matter what we say or do Silvio is going to do what he wants and we don't have a say in it.

Hell, if Man United didn't exist, who could I vent all of my hatred onto then? See even United have their uses, just like this R10 thread. biggrin.gif

R10 has been pretty unlucky this season, mainly due to his none-stop football for a long, long time. He's barely had a break due to last years succesful season, elongated thanks to European success, the World Cup after the season finished. He didn't have much of a break from football and the next Spanish season had started so he has had almost 24 months of none-stop plying, with hardly a break.. I don't think he will go to the Copa America this year, I really hope not if we sign him.

I think he has been thinking about Milan's contract more than plaing for Barca ...

He cant afford to injure himself, not while he has a mega transfer coming through this summer .. I guess he is just playing it safe and not risking himself.

Rijkaard releases Ronaldinho

Ronaldinho is closer than ever to a Milan move after Barcelona boss Frank Rijkaard asked the club to “make other choices.”

The former European and World Player of the Year was the subject of a bitter fan protest this week after Barca’s shock exit from the Copa del Rey, losing 4-0 to Getafe.

The supporters urged him to “go to Milan” and it seems that Coach Rijkaard – a Rossoneri legend himself – agrees.

“How many years can a team sustain itself at the top level? Three or four, then it is necessary to change, both within the squad and in its management,” he told ‘Catalunya Radio.’

“This group has played very well, but it is only normal that there have to be other projects on the horizon.”

It is the clearest indication yet that the Nou Camp club are due a clear-out in the summer and Ronaldinho is the prime candidate to move on.

There have been many reported locker-room rows at Barcelona this season, in particular between Ronaldinho and Samuel Eto’o.

Agent Roberto de Assis is in Spain at the moment and it’s claimed his next visit to Milan – where he also represents Ricardo Oliveira – could officially open the negotiations for a transfer.

Adriano Galliani is set to meet with Barcelona directors for the G-14 summit on May 22 and it’s believed he could then formalise an offer of £47m.

The money would prove very handy indeed for the Spaniards to finance a complete renovation of their squad.

‘Dinho sticking with Barca
QUOTE
Ronaldinho has announced that he will not leave Barcelona in the summer, dismissing the rumours linking him with a move to Milan.

The Brazilian is contracted to the Blaugrana until 2010, but the last few months have seen the Rossoneri repeatedly state that they were “in pole position should he leave.”

Furthermore, all negotiations to extend his deal with the Nou Camp outfit have so far failed, fuelling speculation that the player might be set for Serie A.

“There is no chance that I will leave Barcelona,” Ronaldinho told the Press on Thursday.

“I have a contract here and I am only focused on my club,” added the former Golden Ball winner, whose side leads La Liga alongside Real Madrid with four matches to go.

“I want to do my best here next year and am trying to prepare for next season as well as I can,”
explained ‘Dinho, who has withdrawn from Brazil’s Copa America squad.

The Brazilian international was recently booed by part of the Barca supporters, who do not appreciate the constant transfer rumours, blaming his brother and agent Roberto Assis’ frequent trips to Milan.

“My brother is in Italy often because he represents many other players apart from me. He doesn’t go to Milan to speak about my position,” concluded Ronaldinho.

The player’s statement could open the door for Andriy Shevchenko’s return to the San Siro, after Adriano Galliani declared last week that the Rossoneri were willing to hold a non-EU spot for the Ukrainian.

Rossoneri7
.... I just thought of this, kind of controvercial hehe .. But here goes: R10 could have been told to say this, to keep the team (Milan) focused on the task ahead. This will inevitably have the players playing with all that they have got. Who knows, it might just be he wont come ..

Ronaldo didn't want R10 at Milan. He knows that getting another striker like Eto'o (or Shevchenko for this matter), could complement him with Kaka in support.

Logically speaking I wouldn't trade our Golden boy for Maradona himself (well, maybe .. biggrin.gif ) .. Kaka is the most sought after player on the market today. But having R10 in the same team could be a sudden return of the Serie A commercially to the world all over again! The US market, China, India, the whole world ! And AC Milan (Berlusconi owns 3 Italian TV stations..) would be the team in demand from the world. Because of Italian world cup winners and CL winners. The best team in Europe, the invinsibles all over again smile.gif ... Ok but I just thought about this, so don't go bashing on me tongue.gif

I don't know if I'd want him. Obviously he's a great player, and keeps hinting with things like saying 'We'll see what happens at the end of the season'. So there's always the chance he could come.

I just see Milan as such a good TEAM, they work hard for each other. Ronaldinho just isn't a team player at all. I suppose he'd just take the place of Seedorf, I don't know if I like that idea though.

I think it's essential that Seedorf is replaced. I mean not immediately and not completely but after his 4th Cup... I think he won't even walk against low-table teams!! We just don't have the luxury to field him in such games... he's not interested!

So, I don't know maybe that person is Gourcuff!?? smile.gif
