Ferguson bought good players but not in the correct position as far as i'm concerned....they banked to much on getting tevez and neglected other players....even the so called great sir alex said that there was no plan b if they failed to get tevez and anelka smacks of desperation to me

Its a shame what the referee did to L'pool.

F@ck it... they run and fight for 90 mins and the referee gives a gratis-goal to Chelsea.

BTW, Essien was booked twice with yellow-card and still played till the end. Actually on the 2nd booking there wasn't any official confirmation but you could see referee showing 2nd yellow-card to him. Interesting... rolleyes.gif

It looked like that but on our broadcasters over here they managed to get the 4th official to speak to the ref, apparently it was for Terry on the 2nd occasion, and only Terry, not Essien.

Liverpool won 2 points of a refereeing decision last week. Lost 2 points on a refereeing decision this week. Not to mention Carragher diving all over the place for free-kicks, how many times did he fall over today?

Referee's have been very poor in the Premier League so far this season, I suppose we'll see more stupid things happen, maybe even a penalty against United? tongue.gif

Styles later put a tin lid on his performance by waving a yellow card in the general direction of both Tel Ben Haim and Michael Essien - both of whom had already been booked. Neither man was sent off - it was later reported by the fourth official that Styles was "convinced" he had not booked either man.

Nah, what Ash said is true. He spoke with the 4th offocial to clear up the confusion, because Rafa wasn't best pleased. Though he did make a big mistake, I think he'll be in trouble with the FA - Worst performance I've seen by a ref, possibly ever.

Sky Sports (English Broadcasters) spoke with the 4th official who had spoken to the ref through the mic. The ref said it was just John Terry he had booked, so the guardian is wrong tongue.gif

Fixtures until 1st of September (then you'll have a 2 weeks stop in EPL):

United:
-Tottenham HOME
-Sunderland HOME

Chelsea:
-Pompey HOME
-Aston Villa AWAY

Liverpool:
-Sunderland AWAY
-Derby County HOME

Arsenal:
-City HOME
-Pompey HOME

... Arsenal and Liverpool both have the 2nd leg of CL 3rd pre at HOME between those matches.

About Ronaldo and those stupid enough (located somewhere near Manchester...) who still believe he's the world's best! He was exquisite last season there's no doubt about that but true champions can adapt to closer and harder marking instead of headbutting their opponents... wink.gif

He has looked very impressive in both games. Works hard, great movement and he showed today how he can finish. To get a goal this early into your EPL is great, took Henry, Sheva, etc. closer to 7/8 games. He'll be top, no question.

Don't be fooled. Yesterday solved none of Spurs' problems, they faced a very poor team. I really think Tottenham will revert to the side that was poor against Sunderland/Everton. Hopefully I'm wrong. tongue.gif

Two reasons for worry (at least for me).

1. We have a 37-year old goalie who has begun playing like he has no experience at all.

2. Our captain and one of only two good CB's are injured.
I don't know how bad it is but it looks like he twisted his knee.

Ouch, I didn't know that.

Not sure what Lehmann's problem is, I know he's prone to errors, but this season has been awful for him.

You don't have to worry so much though, United and Spurs are playing so badly, there's no way you'll miss out on the CL. tongue.gif

What's wrong with Lehmann... I expect him to be benched in the next game or else Wenger will show how weak he is! Let the German go if he doesn't like the... "sub-way"! rolleyes.gif

You're just fvcked up because of Stevie's FK last week.
In 2 weeks you'll be just like that but talking about Chelsea and Fat Frankie.

Seriously. This guy is a c*nt. He, Malouda, Drogba, Obi Mikel and Terry - those 5 = Arrogant cnuts.

Drogba was pathetic today. Always diving and in the other half Terry complaining about Torres. Loved Fernando little interchange with Terry - such an ironic little pat on the cheek. laugh.gif

but it was sweet satisfaction for no-more-glory-for-us FC to lose the derby. some glory hunter with his united jersey showed up at this lil friendly game me and some friends have every sunday. sometimes friends of friends show up so you dont know everyone. so ya my lil bro (12 years old) who came and can hold his own against people twice his age, he's really good. anyways he collided with this huge guy and got a knee right in the gut which winded up, and had his toe which was recently springer trampled on,etc (i guess you get that when lil kids play with older ones) and a couple of them including united jersey made a few a shots at my bro cuz he was wearing the azzurri jersey, implying he was diving so i dint hesitate to rub in man u's horrible start biggrin.gif he was jealous cuz my bro turned him inside out on numerous occasions biggrin.gif
kurtsimonw
It is good to rub it in.

Especially over today, they had about 40 chances, unfortunately for United, they all fell to Tevez. Thank f*ck we didn't get him, he's been a complete waste so far.

I think it's good for the Premier League that Chelsea didn't win today as well.

-United have messed it up
-Arsenal aren't experienced enough or good enough to win it.
-Liverpool, by not losing today, have gave themself a great chance this season, especially with Torres off the mark.
-Chelsea being held by Liverpool has kept them both close together. But even still, it's a two team race already!

It's too early to tell ... I'd say in 3 weeks time, we would see which teams will be battling for the top spots. Teams like Tottenham have a good chance for CL football too, so this complicates the title race a bit .. (for the time being, that is..)

Again: it's way too soon to say if it's a 2 team race... for me, at the moment, it's a 4 team race.

United can be 5 points behind Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal (if the Reds and L'Arsenal win the game in hand) but in a long league like EPL it's nothing.
