Chelsea won 4:0 even A. Cole scored biggrin.gif West Ham at home even with one more player, can't score a goal.
United won 3:0 puke.gif

Arsenal doesn't lose two games in a row this season so I'm sort of happy they equalised. We'll make sure they dont do that on tuesday biggrin.gif
Portman
Arsenal has no chance of winning the EPL.

Sooner or later United will top them.
Darunia
It's 1 pt now?

I kind of agree with you.. United has the momentum
kurtsimonw
Hopefully it shuts Wenger up with his rants from now on. Two Villa players went off injured, and we should have had a penalty thanks to their players thinking it was a kick-boxing match!

Nothing new.

Wenger's thoughts on Aston Villa:

"Aston Villa were a difficult opponent who defended very well and who were sharp on the break. I must say they are a team with very robust players and you feel always they expose your defenders to the physical challenge - in a fair way but in a way that can be dangerous for you. They take advantage of every mistake. Up front, too, they are a handful.

"I must say that I was impressed by Villa. Until the last minute they didn't give us any space, or time on the ball and they are team who are very difficult to beat."

Well, that's most unlike Wenger. At least he's given our players some deserved praise today! biggrin.gif

Our away record is really started to look quite impressive. Unbeaten in our trips to the Emirates, Stamford Bridge and Anfield. smile.gif

Wenger had a smiling face for the first time ever. No wonder, the refs gifted him a point the pr!ck. It looks like if you whine and complain at the refs for long enough, eventually they'll gift you goals. Pathetic.

Relax man... you are so unfair. Arsenal were gifted nothing. No scrap that. Arsenal were gifted a goal. By Villa!! wink.gif Your team deserved to take away all 3 points but they sat too deep in the last 10 minutes and this is what gave Arsenal a chance. The fact that they took this chance has nothing to do with the refs or anything else... and there was no penalty for Villa.

Anyway... pathetic performance by Arsenal. If they keep playing like this they will come to the point of needing a win at Old Trafford. Which is not impossible but...

Wenger usually gives praise to teams he thinks deserve praise.
Believe me, he does. It's not unlike him at all, but you'll only find it on Arsenal.com because The Sun and the rest of the English media wants to uphold Wenger's stubborn and grumpy image...

-Shouldn't have been 4 minutes on, maybe 2.
-Not only that, but they scored AFTER the 4 minutes.
-Adebayour fouled Young in the box about 10 minutes into the 2nd half.
-Playing too deep? Harewood came on with 10 minutes to go and saw plenty of the ball, we didn't play deep.

The last bit annoys me the most, though. It's never that we did well to get the draw, it's that we were lucky Arsenal played so bad. Typical, it's always the same. rolleyes.gif

Anyways. Awesome performance by Chelsea, the sending off was a joke, but Chelsea even dominated the game with 10 men. All the talk this seasn has been about Arsenal and United. Chelsea only trail by 6 (With a game in hand) and both the top 2 have to go to the Bridge, should be a very interesting finish.

-3 minutes was the fairest in my view.
-The goal was scored at exactly 92:57...
-I think that not even Juventus a couple of seasons ago would have been gifted such a penalty.
-Yes he did saw plenty of the ball. But that's not proving anything by itself. He was alone in Arsenal's half all that time. You defended with 11 men behind the ball for the biggest part of last quarter of an hour. What I saw was that you allowed Arsenal too much space. You could have easily held them if playing a bit more bravely.

I don't agree with that. You were the best team and deserved all 3 points in my view.

-I dunno how they do things in the leagues you mainly watch, but where does 3 minutes come from? There was barely any fouls or anything.
-It was 94:07 over here.
-I disagree with you on the whole 'defended with 11 men' thing completely.

Ah well, I give up, it's not important.

I think it depends what channel it's on. Dunno why it always differs on different channels though, doesn't really make sense. blink.gif

Anyways. The Evening game was Man City vs Wigan. Neither team really looked up for it, terrible atmosphere, the weather was bad, too. Had 0-0 written all over it and that's the way it finished.

Bolton - Liverpool now

Dirk Shuyt playing again. rolleyes.gif
kurtsimonw
Liverpool lead.

The usually solid Jaaskelainen goes down to his right to save the shot, it hits his arm and spins backwards into the goal. Fluke goal from Gerrard.

Amazing save by Reina now.

Amazing ball from Gerrard to put Babel though, but this kid just hasn't got the ability to be a starter on a top team. Bench maybe, but when he starts he's awful.

(MF is so slow atm... ffs)

Anyway, I'll write what I wrote when this went down: Torres missed a 1 on 1 with J.Cesar (Inter) some days ago. So he's not world-class because of that?

Babel has talent and he'll be one of the best in EPL in the future.

HT 0-1.
kurtsimonw
It's not because he missed a 1-on-1, it's because he continually does things wrong. He's a much better sub.

At the start of the year he scored a few goals and played well, but since he's been a starter he's been useless.

One of the best in the EPL? Nah, he'll be a decent player on a good team, nothing more. Never reach the level of Gerrard, Ronaldo, Torres, etc.
kurtsimonw
The curse of me, 0-2. Babel.

Decent finish, doesn't take away from his average performance.

60' Babel 2-0. wink.gif

Anyway. Give the guy time. He's not even playing in his best position. He'll be the partner of Torres in the future, when Liverpool buys some world-class winger(s).

So, Kurt, please curse Pato repeatedly on Tuesday, okay? innocent.gif

Rasiak should have been sent off on the first half.
Now Gerrard claiming a handball.

Mascherano is really a superb defensive-mid. The best in EPL at the moment. World-class there. And Skrtel seems to be quite good too.
Portman
Aurelio 0-3. Nice goal.
kurtsimonw
Wow, what a strike for Aurelio. 0-3.
kurtsimonw
1-3. Cohen, son of a former Liverpool player.

The curse strikes again, poor marking from Srktel
Portman
1-3. Good defending by Dirk Shuyt.
Portman
2nd red card not given to Bolton players. Davies on Mascherano.
Portman
AHAHAH. Shuyt finish there. laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif

FFS Benitez. Crouch is 10 times what that guy is.
kurtsimonw
LMAO! @ Babel. 8 yards out, goal in front of him, completely misses the ball.
Portman
FT 1-3. Now Liverpool plays on Wednesday the game in hand vs. West Ham.
kurtsimonw
Big game on involving the Cl/UEFA Cup battle.

Everton 1-0 Pompey. Yakubu after 50 seconds. ohmy.gif
misha
It's only hopeless Bolton. Nothing to cheer about. Liverpool ruined their PL season long time ago and now, like Milan, only have to fight for the 4th place and the CL. Will be great though if Everton/Villa will take the 4th place at the end of the season 96.gif
kurtsimonw
FT Everton 3-1 Portsmouth.

I think the CL is a stretch too far for Villa now. But if anyone is going to finish 4th, it's Everton. Their players are even as good as/better than Liverpools.
Jack Sparrow
Not the players....the team. Moyes really did a great job on Everton...but then Everton are not a club like Newcastle whose every move is put under the scanner. So Moyes had plenty of time, just like Wenger, to make the team he wanted.
kurtsimonw
Newcastle fans basically run the club, that's why they're doing crap. They wanted Sam out for making them 'average', then they wanted Keegan in. They got exactly that and well.. they're no longer average, but they're the wrong side of it. They're below average, way below.
Fillipo Simone
@Kurt...is it true, the story about Villa fans singing Heather Mills and Eduardo songs?

It is a shame, but every team has their idiots.

The Arsenal fans acted immaturely, getting arrested over a song? Quite ironic that they're complaining about a song like that when their fans gave a cheer when Curtis Davies went down injured (Had to be stretchered off with a ruptured achilles tendon) they basically asked for it. rolleyes.gif

It is, but what would you do when people actually sings songs like THIS at matches:
"Edurdo, Eduardo, he comes from Brazil
He used to have skills, now he walks like Heather Mills"

If I had been there and seen a Villa player go down after your fans had been singing this, I would have cheered too, not to mock the Villa player, but to mock those bast*rd Villa fans. wink.gif

Eduardo will be back. I wish the same happens to them and since they probably won't have the money to pay for the top surgeons they could really walk like HM! wink.gif

Whoever mocks another human being that is in such a condition is a fool, a coward and deserves the same fate in my view.

I'd would agree with you if that was the case. But our fans started singing that in the 2nd half, Davies went off injured after about half an hour.

I personally don't have anything against what either set of fans did, these things happen in football. You're meant to be able to look back and joke about it. People have made such a big deal over it for nothing, when we played at Villa Park there was the 'Ten German Bombers' chant aimed at Lehmann, did anybody make a big deal over it? No.

I mean, it's not racist, it's not making fun of somebody's death. Somebody is out for what, 8 months? Fans wind each other up all the time with chants, at every game, for some reason the Arsenal fans at the game made such a big deal over it this time.
