Excuse me?

42 games, 27 goals, what does that say? It says how much he has scored during one season, that's all. And that's how one can get overrated. If we go all-in on analyzing through stats, I was clearly right while he only did worse since then.

It says you're wrong smile.gif

How about 65 in 102?

Van Gaal /Manchester United seems desperate.

Didn't he have a 100 million budget? How much have they spent now?

Di Maria, Herrera, Shaw, Blind, Rojo... at least you can safely say if United keeps disappointed it's Van Gaal's doing, while the squad will look quite decent this season.

Only one English source so far. Nothing in Italy as far as I can see

With regards to de Jong, I'm on the fence, I don't think he'll fit in well into Pippo's 4-3-3, I think we need far more dynamic mids than an anchor like De Jong.

However with that being said, he's our best midfielder and one of the very few quality player we have, selling him for the reported 10m pounds being mentioned would be a gaffe of epic proportions, just like selling Balo for just 16m was ridiculous when Liverpool and Man U are throwing money around for much lesser quality players.

If we're really going to sell him, we must play hardball, they're desperate right now so just give them a high figure like 20m pounds and don't budge, I think they'll break and give us what we want. That's nearly 25m euros, which should give us enough to sign at least one quality CM (don't know where he's coming from though at this point in the window) and Dzemaili, with a profit still being made
X-Offender
No, I don't think we should even consider selling him. Don't forget today is the last day of the mercato, we won't have time to sign an adequate replacement. Plus De Jong is great player, there's no need to sell him at all.

I read that we have until tomorrow at 11:00 PM, that's when the window closes because it has been extended this year.

And yeah, that's why I'm hesitant, no way there's enough time to replace him plus buy the midfielder we'd still need, not to mention I can't see an available midfielder with the qualities we need atm

Yeah saw that, too bad, could have really used him as an all rounder in our midfield instead of Muntari

Looks like Van Ginkel is done, don't know how to feel about that considering he was basically shoved out the door by Mourinho after rejecting us twice.

Oh cool. Van Ginkel is quality. Can't blame him for having ambitions to succeed at Chelsea rather than getting loaned out.

Success that he would never be involved in?

Mourinho has made it very clear that he has no space for him at Chelsea by leaving him out of the CL list and keeping him out of the squad that he took to Everton yesterday.

I guess his refusal at joining us rubbed me the wrong way since he'd apparently prefer warming the stands at Stamford bridge rather than have an opportunity at regular football at Milan, and while yes we're no great shakes atm, one has to question where his ambitions lie

The fact he's playing today indicates he's staying. No media outlet in Italy have reported the rumor, and Gandini said on Twitter today that Utd have never asked us De Jong.

I really can't fathom the fact that Van Ginkel is coming on loan with no right of purchase. Never had this happen before I think. It's like, if he performs excellently you can't get attached because you know he'll return to Chelsea at the end of the season. Hmmm...

Well Chelsea are already stacked in midfield, and we had an option to buy all of Zapata, Rami and Taraabt but decided not to exercise those options so that we can re-negotiate the price rather than just pay the agreed fee (one of the douchiest thing Galliani has done as of late)

Either that or Galliani has simply reduced us to a feeder club

No. My guess is we can't attract the kind of midfield talent we would like without CL. But its a vicious circle since to make the CL we need the midfield talent.

van Ginkel's transfer solves it for us perfectly.

Mind you, as per terms we pay 1 million if van Ginkel plays less than 20 games. 0.5 million otherwise. In other words, Chelsea are paying us half a million to develop van Ginkel.

I don't mind that. Next year we can see who becomes available.

He's a stop gap solution. Meanwhile if he loves his time here we could get him to agitate for a more permanent move next year.

Nope. A feeder club by my definition is one that develops it's own players to sell them on. We arent' developing our own player her. van Ginkel is enough of a finished article for us to have him start. For Chelsea? No.

It actually shows how we are now a full level below European elite.

They've spent £150m so far and still have nobody in midfield who can tackle.

If Atleti don't take up the buy option, you basically just gave your most valuable asset away for a year with no gain. Even if they do, you've lost him for a season for nothing.

Just not sure exactly what Torino is getting out of this deal. It just seems like the small club is losing their best player for one season without real benefit and compensation if Atleti decide not to exercise that option to buy while Atelti get some good depth in the least.

Just doesn't make sense to me. My best bet is that Cerci was going mental to leave to a bigger club and Torino really think Atleti will end up paying for him that much.

Yep, stupid from Cairo just because he didn't want to lower his high asking price, Cerci was never worth 20m. I don't think atleti will exercise that option which means Cairo gets screwed over

Yeah, f*ck you Cairo!

Guys, Mediaset says that it's not a loan. Atletico paid €16 million + €3 million bonuses.

Marco van Ginkel has arrived in Italy few minutes ago. He’s now heading to the hotel accompanied by his agent Jansen, the intermediary of the negotiation Parisi and Milan’s sporting director Maiorino. Chelsea’s midfielder is about to join the Italian club.

All the Chelsea fans I know REALLY rate him and think he'll be excellent at Milan.

A De Jong, MVG & Poli midfield isn't the worst.

There was a time, not long ago, when a situation where we breed a player for Chelsea would sound like science fiction...

Milan and Parma are working on a deal Involving multiple players. Biabiany would move to AC Milan, while Zaccardo and Niang would transfer to Parma. The French attacker would join on a season-long loan in order to play and Improve. The parties are in talks to try to reach an agreement. New developments are expected for the next hours.
KillerMax
But why Biabany? I can't think of anything the guy has to offer but speed. He is nothing special even at Parma...

I expect more from Van Ginkel than from Torres.

We can theoretically but if he performs well Chelsea most probbaly would want to keep him or sell him for a sum we can't afford, not with this managment. So far this is probably our cheapest transfer window in Berlusconi era.

It depends mostly on: how much would Biabiany still cost us + his wages.

I think once Monto returns and takes Poli's place it will be a really balanced trio, I still say we need a top quality CM in order to be really competitive but considering we're dirth poor and spent a total of 4.7m throughout the summer on Rami, I think it's a pretty fantastic midfield. I read that Van Ginkel is mostly a box-to-box player rather than a creative CM, which is why we still need Monto or a new creative CM desperately imo

Who knows, Chelsea have so much talent in midfield I don't really think they'll put up much of a fight if we really want him. What this mostly depends on is whether he'll want to stay or not, because if he does very well here and wants to stay I can see Galliani doing whatever he can to get him here permanently

QUOTE (Fillipo Simone @ Sep 1 2014, 07:20 AM) *

They're saying 3m, and I honestly can't see them offering him more than 1.5m at the most

Honestly Biabiany would be nothing more than a sub here, I don't really understand why they want to bring him in, he's still not what Pippo wants and won't really improve the side as Honda and Menez are much better than him

That being said, we'd be getting rid of Zaccardo and sending Niang on a much needed loan to a Serie A side that will give him the minutes he needs to improve that he won't be getting with us. It's a win win for us imo.
Jack Sparrow
Biabiany is a depth player in a position we don't have depth in (winger) in exchange for a position we do have depth in (CB/Defence). Fair enough deal.

Btw. Rumours that a 51million pound deal has been agreed by Man United for Falcao! Any substance to it?
X-Offender
Milan Channel confirms that a Zaccardo-Biabiany swap is imminent.
kurtsimonw
Ben Arfa on loan is one I would look at. Plays right wing, Newcastle would maybe even sell him cheap too as the manager clearly doesn't want him and has shown some great quality. Whether or not he'd be the good Ben Arfa or the bad Ben Arfa here, who knows.
William405
Wouldn't mind him, but it's kinda too late! Biabiany soon going to be official anyway.
X-Offender
Zaccardo + 4 million for Biabiany confirmed.
William405
Well, not too bad. I can't see him "shining" for Milan, but hey..some added depth. We also got rid of Zaccardo.
Danny
All in all it's been a *decent* transfer window. Torres, Alex & Lopez the 'big' signings, Armero, Van Ginkel & Biabiany the decent ones and Agazzi and Menez the others.

I hope Menez wins me over and quickly.

Nope. I support Newcastle and I want him out. So when I want him out of Newcastle, I don't want him in Milan. The only Newcastle player, I wanted in Milan was Cabaye. We should have landed him as soon as Seedorf was retired.

Ben Arfa is out of shape, prone to team sabotaging temper tantrums and would be another of those when he's good he's brilliant but mostly he can't be arsed to turn up. So expect his first season to be great as he looks to prove a point, and then just tether off and be sulky.
