How serious is FFP? If this is an indication, the answer is "not that much". IMHO, the fines imposed by UEFA on PSG and Man City were relatively light (given how deep their pockets are), and now it looks like UEFA is back-paddling. Bottom line, it feels like UEFA's action will amount to a "slap on the wrist".

Yep. Like I said before, people tend to take FFP too seriously and use it as an excuse.

Menez
Looks official

I prefer this:

Suhail 3
I cant see us signing both Adel Taarabt and Menez

Since Menez is almost if not official already, Guess Adel will return to QPR
Danny
Glad to see the Menez deal has pretty much taken place.

Yep. Photoshopped by a fan. The funny thing though is that Gazzetta accidentally used it in their article about Menez. Absolutely priceless! thumbup.gif

Classic!!!

But also great, maybe Galliani will see what an utter joke he's become!

He seems happy enough based on what he is saying. Also, it looks like we are past the medical visit.

Toro after Nocerino

Good news, AFAIAC, we need to start selling (or reducing our salary burden any way we can)

Some stinkers to go with a few gems. sleep.gif Just like in real life, I guess.

One small correction: it's not Moriero (Francesco played with Inter), it's Pippo Maniero.
X-Offender
Mediaset suggests that we've reached an agreement with Valencia for Rami.

We really need to sign Taarabt as well. If El Shaarawy or Menez get injured, who will replace them?

Joke of the day: Tuttosport reports that Milan will try to sign Falcao.

I read on football-italia, in exchange for Balo.

As much as I rate Falco, I'm not sure if I would go for that... unsure.gif
X-Offender
If Monaco are willing to directly swap him with Balotelli, we'd be idiots not to accept. I'm really hoping that Balo has a great WC so his value increases.

This claims that Falcao is tired of Ligue 1, and that Galliani may be getting financial assistance from Doyen Sports to cover some of the transfer fee and salary. Will probably need to sell Balo to cover the rest (and that will not happen until after WC). Apparently there is less competition for Falcao than there is for Mandzukic. Real Madrid was after him, but now they have switched their focus on Suarez. Liverpool may be after Falcao if they sell Suarez.

The article also says that we will let go of our half of Paloschi for 3.5M, and that we are also after Iturbe.

For the midfield, we are after Cigarini (owned by Atalanta + Napoli) and Lodi (owned by Genoa + Catania). Looks like our chances are much better there, though Palermo is after Lodi as well.

Apparently we will keep De Sciglio e Cristante, and we are not going to sell any of our youth players.

PS: had to look into Doyen Sport, and found this. Interesting reading, scary stuff AFAIAC, and hopefully all of this is just a rumor and we are not seriously thinking about it.

Does not look like it will be a straight swap.

Agreed, though it may be harder to get him if he is not a guaranteed starter.

My guess is that everyone at Milan right now is busy trying to sort out all of the "comproprietà". Once that is over, we will probably be looking to sell before we buy. How quickly we move will be critical, IMHO. My concern is that we will try to squeeze every last euro, which means that by the time we are done and ready to buy all our good options will be gone (this, BTW, seems to happen every year). Even worse, we may be stuck one more year with players drawing large salaries and not contributing much (I am thinking Traore, Robinho, Matri, arguably Essien and Muntari, probably a few others). If it was up to me I would optimize for speed (even if this means leaving some money on the table) as we will be better off in the long run if we reduce our salary burden (keep in mind that we pay taxes and not just salary, so every 1M we reduce means 2M savings).
han2503
I'd only go for the Balo Falcao swap if it is a straight swap.

Falcao is older than Balo plus is having injury issues which could really effect him both in the long and short term

But some interesting rumours going around, the only one I used my lemon face when I read it is that Lodi one.

Yeah. Monaco paid top dollar for Falcao, I don't see them giving him up for something less than €40 milion. Even if we sell Balo for €25-30 million, it'd still be too much for us.
X-Offender
According to Carlo Laudisa (Gazzetta mercato expert), we're ready to offer €25 million for Iturbe. Silvio has given the green light.

Seriously? And the money? Did we find it in a pit or something?

We must be convinced we can sell Balo (not sure how else we would fund it otherwise). Is Iturbe worth it?
Fillipo Simone
I don't think so. But it sounds fake anyway.
kurtsimonw
I played as Verona on FIFA a few times and Iturbe destroys over 3 star teams.

He's better than Cerci that's for sure...

25m? That kid better be good. If he's worth that money, shouldn't he be in the WC?
han2503
If they're selling Balo though, I find it hard to believe that all the money will go towards a winger. Either Silvio wants to put some money in or it's complete fantacalcio

He's still unproven at high levels, and Argentina is full of star players up ahead.

Hmm, just a thought

What if they're thinking of playing SES up front?

Basically a front 3 of Menez--SES--Iturbe in a 4-3-3

Have to say, that looks pretty good.
Danny
I would rip my arm off, eat a live rat, swear allegiance to England, and have them win the world cup if it meant we signed Falcao.

That would be...ridiculous.

Not when your country already boasts other more proven strikers in the form of Lavezzi, Higuain, Kun & Messi!

25 Mil does seem a bit much to me as well though, but no doubt the kid has talent.

Yeah, but he doesn't have the characteristics for being a CF. SS, yes, but not CF.

Meh, these days being a CF seems to be going out of style with most teams using "false #9s"

Yeah, but false #9s that can play that role. I don't think SES can, but I could be wrong. Does he really want to, anyway? Cos when was played as SS he seemed to complain about it. In a recent interview he said he wants to keep playing wide on the left.

I personally don't think he really has the dribbling and creativity to play out wide, which is why he struggled when defenders found him out

We sold Darmian for 1.3 million. Looks like we made a mistake looking for a CB when he's made a very good fullback.

He'll cost at least 10 million now.

No word on anyone leaving yet?

And what of Kaka. His family problems seem resolved.

I've always liked Darmian. But I never thought he was good enough to start for Italy. Really impressed me today.
Fillipo Simone
Yes, he was good. But we should take more time to evaluate him.
