Kaka: I am not the King
Thursday 2 November, 2006

Kaka has laughed off Carlo Ancelotti’s suggestion he’s “better than Ronaldinho” after his spectacular Champions League hat-trick.

“I am happy that my Coach said that, but I still have a long way to go and need to improve in many areas,” said the Milan star.

He netted the first three goals in their 4-1 victory over Anderlecht last night, Alberto Gilardino bagging the final strike.

Ancelotti claimed in his post-match comments that Kaka is “the most decisive player in the world right now,” more so than Ronaldinho.

“Ronaldinho has always been an idol for me and I watched him with great interest at Paris Saint-Germain and in Brazil,” continued the youngster.

“I’d never scored a hat-trick in the Champions League, so the third goal was very special for me. I also enjoyed the second in combination with Marcos Cafu.”

Kaka had a dip in form, but has certainly rediscovered his shape with this hat-trick. Some in the Italian media would say it was because he has worked through his personality clash with Ancelotti, as they bickered in front of the cameras in a Serie A match last month.

“MilanLab have all my tests from this season and my fitness levels have always been stable. I didn’t have an argument with Ancelotti. He asked me something and I said I wasn’t entirely happy with it, but that I would adapt. After all, he is the Coach and it’s my job to follow his orders.”

The debate was a tactical one, and Kaka proved how effective he could be in support of two strikers last night rather than as part of a Christmas Tree formation.

“I prefer playing as a Trequartista, as I like to run at the goal from distance. However, I want to always learn and become a more complete player, so I have to try every system and new positions to improve.”

The Rossoneri need just one point from their remaining two Champions League Group H games to be secure of qualification for the next round, but currently lie 14 points adrift of Serie A joint leaders Inter and Palermo.

“Unfortunately the start from eight points down caused us some problems, but we have the time to recover and will give it a go, especially now we’re relatively secure in Europe,” added Kaka.

The Selecao hero also gave some advice to fellow countryman Adriano, who is in Rio de Janeiro for a period of rest and recuperation.

“This is a tough time for Adriano and he has to try to stay relaxed. He needs to know he’s an important player for Inter, Brazil and world football.”

Kaká the king of Milan
Thursday, 2 November 2006

After masterminding AC Milan’s 4-1 victory against RSC Anderlecht last night by way of his first UEFA Champions League hat-trick, Kaká reflected on "a very special evening".

Crowd-pleaser (like he's trying ... rolleyes.gif )
In a match that left Milan on the verge of the knockout stages, the brilliant Brazilian scored a sixth-minute penalty before starting and finishing a rapier-like counterattacking move on 22 minutes and then completing his hat-trick with a spectacular 56th-minute strike. Roland Juhász's header hinted at an Anderlecht recovery before Alberto Gilardino's late effort finished the contest but Kaká was unquestionably the man of the moment.

'Special evening'
"Scoring a hat-trick in the Champions League is really very special," he told uefa.com. "I've scored a hat-trick for Milan once before but this was my first in the Champions League and so it was a very special evening for me." With five goals in the competition already this season, Kaká is now joint top goalscorer with Didier Drogba – underlining his growing status as one of the game’s leading players.

Cafu praise
Team-mate Cafu, who combined with Kaká for the second goal considers him "the best there is", with the right-back claiming his international team-mate should be voted European Footballer of the Year: "You only need to look at what he does on the pitch. Just look at the facts and see how many matches he decides, how many defences he unhinges - he takes two or three players out at a time with his skill and I think he deserves to win the Ballon d'Or."

'Getting better'
The ever-modest Kaká, however, insisted he still has much to learn. "It's a really good period in my career but I think I need to put on good displays when the side isn't playing well too - in the Italian championship, for example - but I think I'm getting better every day." The 4-1 win was a nice way to exorcise the ghosts of Saturday's 4-3 defeat by FC Internazionale Milano – another game in which Kaká scored – and he said his side's performance was a nice way to respond. "We continued from where we left off in the second half in the derby and carried it into this game."

'Best goal'
Even Kaká had to admit that his last goal of the night - his 16th in 39 UEFA Champions League games - was impressive, even by his standards. Picking the ball up from deep, he exchanged passes with Clarence Seedorf before beating two players and curling in a shot from 20 metres out. "It is one of best goals I've ever scored, mainly because it gave me my first Champions League hat-trick. That definitely makes it one of the best and most important goals I've scored."

Milan reiterate Kaka-Ronnie dream
By Graeme Bailey - Created on 2 Nov 2006

Milan are lauding their prized asset Kaka and their owner Silvio Berlusconi has reiterated his desire to link him up with Ronaldinho.

Kaka was the subject of summer speculation that he could be on his way to Real Madrid, however the Rossoneri resisted their overtures for the 24-year-old.

The Brazilian has produced some sparkling displays in recent weeks and he capped that with a hat-trick against Anderlecht on Wednesday.

"He is the strongest in the world," his boss Carlo Ancelotti said.

"There are lots of great players in circulation, but nobody is worth as much as him.

"Nobody has more determination or is capable of making such a difference in a match. He is better than Ronaldinho.

"With Kaka in this kind of form, I'm looking forward to seeing who they award the Golden Ball to."

Milan owner Berlusconi said he would more likely try for Ronaldinho, rather than contemplating letting Kaka leave.

"I won't exchange Ronaldinho with Kaka," Berlusconi said

"Anyway, should there be the possibility, we will try to sign him.

"Ronaldinho in any case would have to come to Milanello [Rossoneri's headquarter], have all the training sessions, engage himself and show to be a player for Milan."

Vice-president Adriano Galliani also paid tribute to former Milan star Leonardo - who he credits with tipping them off about Kaka - before they snapped him up from Sao Paulo.

"I thank him because he was decisive in that negotiation in summer 2003. Now Leonardo can also present me with a few wrong players and I'll forgive him. Kaka is a life's insurance", Galliani told.

The player himself was trying to avoid the press clamour about whether he would be landing the Ballon d'Or.

"Certainly, I would like to win it very much, but I can only do my duty, then hope that I'm rewarded for the results," Kaka said.

"For now, though, I want to play as well as I can for Milan and my national team.

"I don't feel that I've fulfilled my potential yet. There's always something I can improve on."

Kaka rules, says survey Thursday 2 November, 2006

A survey in Brazilian newspaper O’Globo insists Milan ace Kaka is better than Barcelona star Ronaldinho.

A massive 82 per cent have backed the Rossoneri sensation with the stuttering European Footballer of the Year winning just 18 per cent of the vote.

Kaka has been in fine form for the Italian club this term and netted a hat-trick in the 4-1 win over Anderlecht in the Champions League last night.

Meanwhile, Milan target Ronaldinho has struggled to live up to his billing as the best player in the world.

The former Paris Saint-Germain ace endured a disappointing 2006 World Cup and has started the season slowly at the Nou Camp.

Kaka: I was wrong to play
Created on 19 Nov 2006

Kaka has revealed that he should not have played in Brazil's World Cup quarter final against France as he was not fully fit.

The 24-year-old playmaker lined up against Les Bleus after telling coach Carlos Alberto Parreira he could play.

Brazil lost the game 1-0 and Kaka has now admitted he was still feelings the effects of the bruised knee he suffered against Ghana in the previous round.

"I told professor Parreira that I could play," he said in an interview with Brazilian television.

"It was my mistake, and I was wrong to have played because when you play with an injury, it limits you.

"In the World Cup, you're amid all that euphoria and you don't know what might happen."

Kaka also criticised Brazil's World Cup preparations in Switzerland, where paying crowds of around 5,000 people watched their training sessions.

"One thing which got in the way was the number of people during the preparations, it affected the concentration of the players and is something which could be improved in the future," he explained.

Real still want Kaka

Real Madrid chief Ramon Calderon will not give up on his dream of bringing Milan star Kaka to Spain.

The attacking midfielder was at the centre of a transfer battle between the two clubs in the summer, when the Rossoneri warned the Merengues against making any attempts to contact Kaka.

However, the Spanish club’s officials had recently stated that they were still considering making an offer for the Brazilian.

“We have signed a contract for our television rights, the most impressive one in professional sports,” said Calderon to Spanish newspaper Marca.

“The money will allow us to sign the best players in the world. We will see if the promises I made in the summer about Kaka will become a reality,” added the chief, referring to the statements released during the campaign preceding his election at the helm of the club in June.

“One thing is certain, I don’t think they will write on my gravestone ‘here lies the man who did not bring Kaka to Madrid’. I do not make promises that I do not keep,” concluded Calderon.

Here's a question that might get me banned: biggrin.gif

Do you think Kaka is a bit overrated?? I was just thinking that he's not 'there' in most important matches... he seems to be easily brought down by the bigger teams. So in this case by overrated I don't mean of course that he doesn't have the potential to be a leader (... rolleyes.gif ) just that he's not yet the man to hold on to.

Please try hard to be nice when replying to this! unsure.gif
Jack Sparrow
I dunno dst...it's easy to think that way, but here's another way of looking at it...do you think we depend too much on him to perform everytime? In other words (as we can see in this season), if you just have one player who is a threat, you can always shut him down, two players in touch makes it more difficult.

If Costinha could cramp the great Zidane, surely the much less experienced Kaka is cannon fodder.

Kaka is still developing, you can never overrate a person who is developing coz u never know where he is gonna end up...you can only do that to a guy who's got to the peak of his ability.

Right now you can see improvements, there is a heightened sense of awareness....his left foot is getting stronger etc...

Does that answer your question..at least a little bit?

Ok now I'm done being nice.... devil.gif

You sorry f****t, you got some balls coming in here with a statement like that...I vote you be banished to the Inter Milan forum.

Lol...just kidding I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy.
dst
I just said so because some people (including me) think of Kaka as a master but seeing it clearly he's not there yet. He can easily kill his weak opponents but so far he hasn't been able to deal with the stronger ones...

What you said about him being the only threat is true but I asked that question looking at his previous seasons too; Last year for example in the games against Lyon he was cast aside by Diarra and he rarely managed to get away from Barcelona's Edmilson...

Nevertheless, his evolution since he arrived at San Siro is so great that I think in two years time he'll be unstoppable!! king.gif

life is full of obstacles biggrin.gif
Kaka certainly has more to show, than he previously offered.
Going to Madrid will kill this potential obviously biggrin.gif

If you are referring to choking in big matches then all you have to look at is the CL final, when he was literally eating up the ground beneath himself. He was that good in that match, on such a big occasion where as players like R10 failed miserably.

But if you are referring to the fact that he can sometimes be shut down, I think you have to consider the fact of how tight everybody is marking him. Barca are hyped up with their all attacking play, and what did they do against us?? They where practically playing with 10 behind the ball, and where breaking on counters, if that is how true champions are supposed to play then I don't know what kind of world we're living in. When you have a player like Diarra or even Edmilson acting as a human sticker to you it will be difficuilt to shake off. Especially when that player is Diarra, who I think is probably one of the best defensive mids going around right now.

Kaka is just 24 years old, and he has already reached the hieghts he has reached, their is definately plenty more to come from him.

I would have to stick with Jack's opinion on this, cuz he is still developing .. IMO Kaka isn't overrated, cuz he is very consistent in what he does and there is few that can be compared to his potential ...

But, there is more that can come from him, he isn't good at creating his own space; i.e. he cant shake off his marker easily as Sheva, Rui, Seedorf could do (as recent examples), but that comes with experience .. U give Kaka space and that is it, consider a goal .. But most team's know that Milan's attacking potential, at the moment, is weighed 80% on Kaka, thus closing him down would mean blocking Milan's attack ..

Let's take it easy. Some people (not me) say Kaka is a leader. I (me, myself) say that by saying so they overrate Kaka cause he's not yet developed enough so as to say he can lead Milan to victory! (By victory I don't mean a single win over any team...)

If I'm still incomprehensible (oh yeah... you can now get back to normal speed) then I'm going to kill myself.

han2503
Kaka is still definately not the leader in the team. That comes with experiance. In fact I think it was Carlo that when asked about it he down played it and said that their is no leader in Milan only the group. I think it was something like that anyway.

As for Istanbul dst. Yes Kaka was closed down in the second half, but look at how Liverpool did that, the same way Barca and Lyon did it. If you are going to make someone mark him and not let Kaka have an inch of space even when he hasn't got the ball then ofcourse it will get harder for him to shake them off, especially as time wares on.

But as I said Kaka is still young, still has a lot, to learn, and is still not the Milan leader as some would believe he needs to work hard to earn that title which he will take off a player like Maldini. Which isn't easy.
