with pato and kaka and seedorf and pirlo ready to go i'm actually feeling a little confident. Maybe we should start dida next game and get him going because i feel scared with kalac in net. Dida no matter the mistakes is still a better choice for high profile matches. The last derby wasn't very fair to him i feel he deserves a second chance. He has had months to cool down and get his mind back in order. He should be fine.

I think dida was supposedly re-injured again recently - not sure how serious it was though, or when he is likely to return (if atal - regarding his possible departure) unsure.gif

Ditto. I think if Kaka connects well with our young strikers, Pato and Paloschi, and Pirlo wakes up from his slumber there is no reason why we can't net in a couple of goals. The match will be won offensively - we can't score a goal and rest on our laurels, as Inter will come back hard. Still I'm feeling more confident than I've been in recent times (bar the "Ronaldo Derby", in which he scored that scorcher). It will undoubtedly come down to Kaka. Again. Though the supporting cast will need to pick up their game too. innocent.gif

The conspiracist in me fails to believe that. I mean, Dida was not nearly as injury prone as he's made out to be now. We haven't heard anything concrete about him for months, now. If we had someone like Buffon as No. 1, I can understand that, but keep playing Kalac even well after his form has vaporized could be suicidal. Or has been. sad.gif

Let's wait and see till the end of the season. I reckon we'll be seeing Kalac on the bench as 2nd choice for the next year or two, and a new, younger No.1 to go with him. Where that leaves Dida is anyone's guess. With all the blunders Dida makes, I still feel more comfortable seeing him in the net than Kalac. huh.gif

Irrespective of whether Dida stays as No. 2 or not, I'd like he take Kalac with him too. dry.gif I'd rather have someone young and upcoming as our second choice keeper, so that in the coming years he develops into someone we can trust in times of trouble. Understandably Kalac has been under the shadow of Dida for too long, and didn't get much playing time, but it's not like he's growing any younger. If it comes to it, let them both go. wink.gif

Kaka has been named among Time magazine’s 100 most influential people in the world and is the only football player in the list.

The Milan hero was included under the category ‘Heroes and Pioneers’ along with the likes of Andre Agassi, Lance Armstrong and Oscar Pistorius.

Kaka will be one of the 100 faces on the cover to be released on May 12 and he could not hide his satisfaction.

“When I heard the news I was really moved, because this is a wonderful moment,” he smiled on Milan Channel.

“I consider it a great satisfaction. To be among the 100 most influential people in the world is a remarkable privilege.

“To see my name there in that list along with 99 other personalities of world renown makes me very happy.
”

Considering the splash David Beckham made in the States, it is interesting to note Kaka is the only football player on the list.

“It is not easy to make a mark on the American media. They have their own market and their favourite sports. Allowing me, a soccer player, to be part of this list is a great feeling for which I thank God.”

The article on why Kaka deserves to be in Time magazine was written by Kasey Keller, the current Fulham goalkeeper who faced him in the World Cup with the U.S.

It has been quite a year for Kaka, who in the past 12 months won the Champions League, European Super Cup, Club World Cup, Ballon d’Or and FIFA World Player of the Year award.

“Do I feel as if I am a good communicator? Yes, it is a responsibility that we players have to take on, because today football is the most popular sport in the world.

“Everyone watches and follows the games, so players have a duty and a responsibility to transmit positive values.
”

Kaka has said he would like to become a preacher after he retires from the sport.

i think he'd make a fantastic captain. Unfortunately I can see Ambro or Rino get it before Ricky. I feel that a captain should be either a player who can change a game(Gerrard?), or someone who can command a game(Nesta?) and I don't think either Ambro or Rino fall into these categories.

Kaka': "I am at the right age to start with Milan a new era"

In an interview with Sport magazine.

Kaka' is the best player in the world, but his team is in need of him as a person as much as they need him as a player. The Brazilian has won over the hearts of his teammates, the workers in the club and the reporters and above all the San Siro fans, and that is because of his down to earth personality. He doesn't seem to be the type of player that likes to turn heads nor does he seem to be a player who likes to be in media limelight. He is friendly to anyone and everyone, and waved and smiled at all that passed by during the interview. On a sunny and hot day at Milanello, we started the interview.

The best player in the world watching the semi-final of the champions league on TV, how did you take it ?

Kaka': "yes, it is a bad feeling, because we wanted to reach the semi-finals and go through into the finals again. In the semi-finals, four of the biggest teams in Europe arrived, but that doesn't mean that Milan isn't one of them. We are always one of the strongest challengers in this tournament, and to leave early on or not not to compete in it, that is considered a hard blow for us. Milan is here today to always be a champion, yes today we carry the title of Champions of Europe, but we will loose it soon to the next Champs and we will have to live with that."

In the league, the team does not seem fine, as it is competing for a fourth place finish only ..

Kaka': "We haven't played a good year in the calcio for several reasons. Milan has to always be a contender for the Scudetto, but instead of that this season we are looking to qualify for next years Champions League edition. This is a very rare situation for this club, and for that reason we have to examine it well. But the important thing is to consider the positive aspects, and take them with us towards future success."

Maybe the age of the players in the lineup is too high, and they are not able to give anymore ..

Kaka': "After all that has passed, I think the first step to start a new era is renewing the lineup. Milan has won a lot, thanks to the rich experience of it's players above everything else. These players have giving all they have to win in football, but after winning so much the concentration levels start to drop. Renewing is a natural cycle that has to happen."

A new era ? And what does Kaka' wish to say by renewing his contract till 2013 ?

Kaka': "I love this club a lot, I love the city, the championship and the country. What I am waiting for is Milan starting a new project for the future in order to continue winning awards and trophies. I am still young, and able to start a new project with great enthusiasm. Of course success will come, but you have to be calm and wait your turn."

To be tied to one club for a long time, that is abnormal in modern football. Don't you want to try out another league in the future ?

Kaka': "I would be a lier if I told you that I hate La Liga or the Premier League. I follow the games from those two leagues from time to time because I like the football that they play there and also the players that play in those leagues are excellent. But the Calcio is also a big league. I concur, I am a young player, and one day I might try out another league, as of now I am very happy in Milan."

All things aside, you have acclimatized your tactics with Serie A very well ..

Kaka': "I think that you would face difficulty in integrating into any new league. When I first came here, we won the Scudetto. I used to play in a different position than I do today, which is as a second forward. The important thing is to study and learn the movements of your teammates, so you can thrive off of them."

With this talk of a new era, it is said that Milan are very close to signing Ronaldinho. What do you think of his situation with Barcelona this year ?

Kaka': "When you want to talk about issues like this, you would have to be in the middle of it all in a daily basis to actually know what to think. From my point of view there was never a doubt in my mind that Ronaldinho wasn't a big player. He has quality in him, that is not found in any player, it's as if it's natural to him. He is going through a bad period and I assume that is because of a personal or work-related problem. And from the external side of things, and with my utmost respect to him and what he showed the whole world, I think he knows very well the issues that are not going in the direction that they normally should."

And it is claimed that his career as a footballer could end, if he doesn't resume playing again ..

Kaka': "Ronaldinho is 28 years of age, he is still young and has ahead of him years to play football, but everything depends on him and his motivation. Of course he didn't forget how to play football, because it is a natural talent and he can never fail in playing football so long as he has the skill in the first degree. I think he needs to fight to find new motivation and challenges."

If he moved to Milan, will he play by your side, or would you not be able to play together in the  same team ?

Kaka': "I have played with Ronaldinho countless of times in the Brazilian NT, and we have never found a problem in playing together. From my point of view, the idea of him coming to Milan is an idea which I like a lot, because he is the best player out there. He is a magician and there is no alternative to him in the world of football. I will be ecstatic if he singed for Milan, because I am convinced that he will help us win more titles."

What about Messi ?

Kaka': "I like Messi as a footballer and as a person. His way in doing things on the pitch is unique and most importantly he is very fast on the pitch. He has very big talent and he is one of those players that can make a difference in football today. I am very entertained when I see him play, and I would like it a lot if he ended up in Milan because he is capable of doing a lot of big things. I don't know what he is capable of, but he is today on the road to being on of the best players in the game."

But Messi wasn't enough for the win against Manchester United. Who is the champion in your point of view ?

Kaka': "In my opinion it is Manchester, and that is because of how they play in the Premier league. They are a big team, and I think they are the best at the moment in Europe, even if a title like this could slip from their grasps in a blink of an eye. In some circumstances the smallest details and the most silliest could cost you a title."

We can't deny it, Real Madrid. It is the club that has always pursued you, and used your name in it's election campaign. Did it hurt when you heard about your imminent departure ?

Kaka': "Nothing gets to me. I like Real Madrid's interest in me, but I don't think they are just interested in me, but in many players in the world too. It is a club which has rich history along with historical players, big players. The clear picture in front of me now, is if a deal is reached between the two clubs, then I would talk about them. I have renewed my contract with Milan until 2013 and I think it is only fair to say that I like this club a lot. It is the clubs that decide the fate of their players and not the players by themselves, for that leave me out of such a scenario."

And the Brazilian NT, isn't it in need of a new era ?

Kaka': "From one mondial to the next, it is only natural that there is new blood that come in. Brazil is always a team that is a favorite to win anything, even if it was bad. This is what came out of the previous edition of Coppa America."

Thanks for that, R7.

It does seem that both his head and heart are in the right place. I don't think he'll stay here for his whole career, but will definitly remain for his best years before maybe giving another league a try - probably La Liga.

Kaka set to lead the line

Kaka will play as a striker next season for AC Milan according to Adriano Galliani.

The Brazilian was moved into a more advanced role at the beginning of this season and although the 26-year-old was initially reluctant to shift position, the Rossoneri vice-president revealed that the club top scorer's move to bolster the attack would be made permanent.

He said: "We will be adopting a new tactic next year, Kaka will be our support striker for next season."

Now at Fox Soccer Shop The European and World Footballer of the Year has scored 15 goals this season despite struggling with injury and his accuracy in front of goal has convinced the San Siro club as well as the player that his future lies in this direction.

Although such a move would increase competition for the remaining attacking place, Galliani revealed that main contenders Filippo Inzaghi and Alexandre Pato would provide the main goal threat.

He added: "I think this is an excellent solution but up front there can only be one striker playing in front of him. Inzaghi is doing very well at the moment so Pato will have to alternate with him."

Such a move would alter the strategy of the Milan giants in the transfer market this summer, with the addition of only one striker now the priority which could pave the way for the return of Marco Borriello after his magnificent season with Genoa.

Well, if Ronaldinho does make it to Milan ... The formation would surely have to change. And Kaka' had proved very decisive when we played as an SS, even Kaka' admitted that he got the hang of it.

So having Ronaldinho in the AM slot and Kaka' floating under him, with Inzaghi/Pato lying underneath ... I'd say this could very well be the strongest attack line in the world. Of course, you'd have Pirlo pulling the strings from the back ... I like it king.gif

There is to much trouble around this guy. If he is 100% ready to devote himself to Milan then sign him if not we should look elsewhere.

I am pretty sure that Kaka and R10 can play in the same lineup. It's just up to Carlo to find the perfekt formation for them.

Maybe we could copy Manchester utd style of play. Pato-kaka-R10 shifting positions to confuse the opponents.
