Only one of my favorite players was in it, Redondo. Now he was a class player. And even though he's Argentinian I'm sure Tennie and Kurt will agree with me.

It saddens me when I think of him. What he could have ben here. sad.gif

I kind of like Higuain now in their team.

He's got to be one of the most under-rated players around.

I think it's because he works hard rather than enjoy eye-dazzling talent on the ball like Aguero or Messi.

On behalf of the inhuman dst, I Maximus Decimus Meridius will go ahead and confirm this for you. Yes. Maldini can not be compared. He who compares Maldini to the mortals of this petty earth shall forever burn in hell and suffer the wrath of the Gods.

You think their game is similar? It's only similarly uninteresting to me. Both good players but neither has I think that quality that would make me like them.

No their game is completely different. I'm not sure I understand what you mean about their game not being interesting though.

Materazzi's game is very interesting, in my opinion, why do you not love him?

Yeah it is interesting how such a bad player has played in a WC final. I do like him for that.

He has done poorly? What are you people looking at, his scoring record!??? HE IS NOT A STRIKER!!! He plays as a pure 10 at RM and he's doing great.

He was bought to do those amazing runs he did at Milan and score goals. Furthermore, he was also expected to dominate the pitch with ronaldo as having both of them will produce 153413186186816 scoring oppurtunites a game.

I mean thats why they paid 65 million right? They didn't pay 65 million for someone to just simply pass the ball and run around, they could have bought seedorf for 5 million and he would have done that.
dst
Ah that's what you mean... yeah, in that sense he has really failed to meet the Real Madrid fans' and board's expectations of a second coming...

Imo, the way things are going, unless he really steps his game up; he might be sold in the summer. Ancelotti will undoubtedly bid for him. Madrid will then try to sign Pato or some other superstar in the making.
dst
I was being sarcastic. I don't think he has to step up his game, he's doing great... as a playmaker! The fact that the RM fans are deluded and expect to win every game by 8 goals means their criteria are out of this world. That said, CR has become their star and I don't think the fans would care if Kaka left in the summer. I can't see it happening though.

I don't think they appreciate kaka's efforts. We always loved him no matter what, even if he had a bad day. But Madrid fans do not treat their players like that. You play bad, and you are despised. You play good and you are loved. No real relationship with the player.

No wonder they don't have as many legends or players who dedicate their careers their like we do.
kurtsimonw
I don't think Kaka' is playing to the level he is capable of, it also doesn't help that Ronaldo is continuing his ridiculous goal-scoring record in Spain. He just looks bad in comparison.

Pepe's record looks bad in comparison too.

Kaka compares Spain with Italy
Tuesday 12 January, 2010

Former Milan midfielder Ricky Kaka says he is enjoying his football more since his move to Real Madrid, partly because his former team-mates used to swear too much.

The 27-year-old former World Player of the Year spent six years with the Rossoneri before his €68.5m transfer to the Santiago Bernabeu in the summer.

Kaka was highly regarded among Milan fans, having won the Champions League, Serie A and FIFA Club World Cup while at the club.

Speaking to Spanish radio show Cadena Ser, Kaka said: “I enjoy myself more here because there is a style of football that's more open, it's richer technically.

“The Italian game is more tactical, more studied, like the training sessions: at Milan in addition to tactics we used to do several exercises for the physique and little in the gym.

“Here we work more on technique, with the ball, a lot of shooting and less tactics.”

Kaka also revealed how he didn't like the swearing culture in Italian football.

“I don't like it. I can't bear swear words. Here in Spain, people swear less than in Italy. Sometimes in Italy I asked my Milan team-mates not to swear. It's not God's fault if they mistake a goal or a pass.”

Easily-offended Real Madrid midfielder Kaká admits he prefers life in La Liga compared to Serie A because the players don't use the bad words. "I can't bear swear words," he sobbed. everybody thinks that the players that bought to real madrid was better before they came
they are still good but better before and real usually buys and sell players rather than raising young players tongue.gif

It's an older video, but this made me so nostalgic. The emotions of that season, after Calciopoli, and Shevchenko leaving us. Fire burned in the eyes of our veterans, and Kaka wrote his own unique chapter in the history book of football's great talents.

To be honest, in the last portion about the video featuring the Athens final, as the text explains "kaka was man marked throughout almost the entire contest, but for one brief moment he was left alone", and they cut to the immortal scene of Kaka sending Inzaghi in on Reina...it transported me for a second back to the feeling I had as I watched it. One of my personal best sports moments, as a fan, that I've ever lived!

According to mediaset, gazzetta, marca, etc etc etc, Kaka has had knee surgery (torn meniscus) and will be out 3-4 months.

^^ He has.

Real had their friendly against America last night here in S.F., and the article in today's paper made no mention of the reason for Kaka not showing up (knee surgery), just that he didn't show up.
m1ke
Seeing as most people here (myself included) opposed Kaka's transfer at the time - do you think the club's decision to sell has been justified after seeing Kaka's form/injury troubles at Madrid?

Well myself and Tennie were 2 of those who weren't troubled by the sale at all, were quite pleased in fact. Fully justified now.
Fishdoll
This fish thinks the decision to sell was justified at the time, was tired of seeing him use the club like an ATM. And now after the various injuries, it certainly seems justified in hindsight.
MizNelson
Agreed. Not only because of his decline in form, but because of his making no bones about wanting to play for Madrid, so his heart was no longer in Milan and thus we basically had no choice but to cut our losses. The number of people who were initially against us selling Kaka has considerably dwindled.

You could also add lying little toerag to that lot but hey.
han2503
In hindsight it was justified. I don't want to get into who was behind the move, I think it was a combination of both parties but imo 75% of that was on our management and the need for the cash injection.

Looking at all the injuries now you can't help but think it was justified. But imo it wasn't really the reason why he was sold. There was no master plan behind the deal to sell Real damaged goods, just the desperate need to solve the money problems we had/still have.

We'll see the same thing happen with Pato in a few years time if Silvio is still running the club

Speaking of lying toerags, I can't help but notice that as time goes on, Sheva seems to slowly be getting back into some fans' good graces.

Sheva isn't a toerag in this fish's opinion. He's just totally under the control of his skeeeery wife.

As for Kaka...if you read spanish, you prolly want to avoid both Marca and As for the next couple of days. The knives are out for Kaka in a big way -- this fish suspects he'll be gone from the club sooner rather than later.

Agreed on the Sheva part.

And it's funny how a few years ago Marca and AS were both fawning over Kaka like a piece of meat and photoshopping pictures of him with the Madrid shirt. Now they're raking him over the coals.

Don't particularly blame the Spanish papers on this one -- they paid a lot of money for Kaka and he's mostly been injured or off his 2007 form (which he was off of in 2008 for us anyway). And the papers do love their scapegoats.

It's just that today's articles don't make nice reading for those who are big fans of Kaka.

I agree. I don't really think of him as a toerag anymore nowadays, just that there's still probably a lingering consensus out there.
Bluesummers
I feel sorry for him. But he should have known what he was getting himself into. Madrid is Madrid; all the players know that. Its a career destroyer. They've done statistics on how many careers have been severely damaged by madrid and the number is like 23% of players they transfer. nearly 1/4 of players madrid buys will flop, then get crucified by the press and then go downhill LOL!

I hope he moves back here when he's 31/32 for a season or two. I would love to see him back in the milan shirt like sheva smile.gif
MizNelson
I don't. The last thing Milan needs is another thirtysomething nostalgia trip. He's not even a club legend to begin with.

How can you even say that? He's one of the most loved players in our club's history. during 07/08/09; he was our club symbol ahead of maldini and co. When people thought of milan, they thought of Kaka.

Kaka was milan, milan was kaka at that time. I don't know how you can be so unappreciative of the things he's done over the years.
