To answer the above question, yes, Kaka's going to be a father in 5 months, or so Gazzetta's print edition today reports. They also had a preview of the GQ cover with him on it. (the 'golden boy' is what the article's titled).

One thing not earlier stated is that there are THREE Milan players in the top 20.
Kaka won the award and Pirlo (as earlier reported) took fifth. Pippo took 16th place as well, so well done to all three Rossoneri!

It is now official – Milan star Kaka is the 2007 Player of the Year after he was assigned the Ballon d’Or.
The Brazilian had been the over-riding favourite since voting began among the journalists all over the continent.
Previously known as the European Player of the Year award, organisers ‘France Football’ have recently extended the competition to those all over the world.

Sweet!!! Guys, I don't think we're giving this as much heft as it deserves. Just because it was a much expected individual victory for Kaka does not mean we should take it for granted. It is a big thing, and a rare occasion to smile in this dark season! Now post every single picture you find here, I'm going to do the same. I hope we find some from the Piazza Duomo celebration!

By your count, you can also take one from Juve. Paolo Rossi joined Juve only after the 1982 world cup.

I agree but it can be nice too. They are admitting being wrong and want (partially) repair the awful injustice. Anyway, people who pick the Golden Ball winner are just (sometimes stupid) journalists.
Congratulations KAKA! Watching you play gives me more joy than watching anyone else in the world! You have actually been the best player in the world for the last 3 seasons, and i've been telling everyone that, but nobody pays attention until you win something, and now finally you have silverware to actually prove it.
