I have to admit we left Old Trafford a little bit disappointed on Tuesday night but not with our heads down at all. I only say that we were sad because of the late goal we conceded. It's frustrating to have let in another late goal, just like we did against [FC] Bayern München in the last round. I don't want to take anything away from the quality of Manchester United [FC]'s play, and [Wayne] Rooney's goal though. It was an incredibly good finish from Rooney. In no way would I rest any blame on Dida for failing to stop it because the timing of the shot was absolutely perfect.
'Great chance'
If the match had finished 2-2 I still feel we would have a mountain to climb although those away goals are very important. But losing the first leg is not the end of the world by any means and I believe we stand a great chance of turning the tie around at the San Siro next week. The game at Old Trafford was a real spectacle and I'm convinced the second leg will be another amazing game – perhaps even more amazing than the first match. It was a wonderful show for the fans and it could be another one on Wednesday. I was hugely impressed by the atmosphere inside Old Trafford. Even at half-time when they were losing 2-1, the United fans were still singing and getting behind their team. I'm sure our fans will show the same kind of spirit as United fans displayed. We haven't enjoyed a great season but the fans have been brilliant and have been by our side throughout the season.

I was really happy to score twice in the first leg and to have scored so many goals in the competition this season, but it is winning the Champions League that means the most to me. I have come close to winning it before two years ago and would love to do it this season. Despite trailing United at this stage I still think we have a great shout at winning the cup this season. I've been asked this week what I think of my team-mate Paolo Maldini. The answer is simple, he is a legend. Anyone who says he is too old is talking rubbish. It's obvious that he doesn't perhaps have the same speed or the same physical prowess that he had earlier in his career but his experience and leadership more than compensate for that. You could see for yourself how much we missed him in the second half at Old Trafford. Maldini is an inspiration.
'Amazing Ronaldo'
I've also been asked what I thought of Leo Messi's brilliant goal for Barcelona last week and whether I was jealous! The answer is no, of course not, it was a great goal. It's even been compared to my goal against Argentina in London but all I will say is that they were two great goals, scored by two different players, with different characteristics. It's good for football to see wonderful goals like Messi's. It's not a competition between us. I think Leo Messi along with and Cristiano Ronaldo are the two best players in the world this season. I really appreciate the skills of Ronaldo. He plays like a Brazilian. He has so much skill and speed. He is an amazing footballer. Do I feel as if I am battling with Messi and Ronaldo to be in the top three? No of course not. I don't feel it's a competition at all. Football needs players to play great football

Ricky Kaka is a candidate for the Ballon d’Or and Champions League top scorer, but assures he’s not reached his peak yet.

Kaka has certainly settled into this new role, as he is the Champions League top scorer with 10 goals in 12 games.
With the Final still to play, he could even reach Ruud Van Nistelrooy’s all-time record of 12 goals in one campaign.
“If I can score a brace in the Final and become all-time top scorer, that would be incredible, but the most important thing is that the team gets to lift the trophy.â€
He scored three of Milan’s five goals against Manchester United over two legs in the semi-final, setting up a special clash in Athens on May 23.
“It was a perfect match from Milan. It will be wonderful to face Liverpool again and it feels like a unique opportunity, so we hope this Final will be different.â€
This is a repeat of the 2005 Final in Turkey, when Milan were leading 3-0 only to concede three goals in six minutes and eventually lose on penalties.

grande kaka, i think his arrival at milan, with rivaldo and rui costa as his masters was decisive in his carreer and i think now we are seeing the fruits of the job. if he think he hasn´t reach his max level.. i don´t know what to think

His list is sort of questionable,aside from the top 4 or 5 they're usually pretty easy to pick.But Kaka is no.1 that's all that counts.

OK. It's like this: the portuguese press quotes the brazillian website Lancenet saying that Kaka' phoned Dunga to rest during the Summer (not to participate in Copa America next June-July). Just the same that Ronaldinho asked some weeks ago.
Dunga accepted both situations. We'll see if it's true or not but I really hope so.
He does need to rest! I hope it's true and Dunga accepts his decision.

Kaka has sent a letter to the Brazilian Federation asking to be left out of the Copa America. “I haven’t rested for three seasons and could not perform.â€
The Milan starlet has just turned 25 and is a favourite to win the Ballon d’Or for 2007, but as he prepares for the Champions League Final, he is already looking ahead to next season.
“I am always proud to be called up for the national team and, in view of a possible call for the Copa America, I believe I would not be in the ideal condition to give the performances expected of me at international level. I have not rested for three seasons,†said the letter printed on the Cbf official website.
As the Rossoneri cannot qualify in the top two of Serie A, they will have to go through a preliminary round in August – leaving Kaka precious little time to rest as the Copa America runs in Venezuela from June 26 to July 15.

As the Rossoneri cannot qualify in the top two of Serie A, they will have to go through a preliminary round in August – leaving Kaka precious little time to rest as the Copa America runs in Venezuela from June 26 to July 15.

On the way to the photography studio where I'm scheduled to meet Kaká, I pass two billboards featuring the AC Milan star. In one he is dressed stylishly in suit and tie, in the other the clothes are more casual. We are in Zona Tortona, the trendy district dubbed the Soho of Milan because of its bars, galleries and fashion showrooms. Thirty seconds into our conversation it is obvious why stylists compete to have his clean face and gentle smile endorse their products.
Humble
When Kaká married his wife Caroline 18 months ago, Milan president Silvio Berlusconi declared he was "the husband every parent would like their daughter to have". A part-time model off the pitch, he has been a model of consistency on it, dominating the UEFA Champions League this season. His competition-leading ten goals have driven AC Milan to another final against Liverpool FC, but Kaká has not let his achievements go to his head. Deeply religious, the attacking midfielder remains one of the most humble figures in football. The word revenge is not part of his vocabulary.
'More experienced'
"The final against Liverpool is not about revenge," he told uefa.com. "Two years ago they won and that's it. We're just focusing on this new final. It's a great opportunity to write my name and the club's in the history of the competition. In a final anything can happen, we know it better than anybody after that game in Istanbul." Kaká was superb in the 2005 final, wresting the game from Liverpool in a mesmerising first half with his darting runs and pinpoint passing.
Liverpool challenge
Two years on another English side has witnessed Kaká at his best. He scored twice against Manchester United FC in the first leg of their semi-final, then put on a show for the adoring Rossoneri supporters at San Siro. The 25-year-old opened the scoring and drove Milan forward all night, the United midfield never coming to grips with his pace or vision as he exploited space in front of the visitors' back four. "Liverpool will probably be more difficult to face than Manchester United," Kaká reflects. "They are more focused on cutting down space while United play great football but also let you play. Liverpool are very organised and have a great coach. We know [Rafael] BenÃtez and [Steven] Gerrard really well but Liverpool are not about individuals, they are a very good side overall. Still if I have to choose one player, I would go for Gerrard. He is a leader, a point of reference for them."
'Work hard'
Just as Kaká is for Milan. The conduit of their best moves on the pitch, he has also become the focus off it. The patience and attention with which he deals with constant demands on his time from press and fans alike suggests he will not be letting success go to his head. He has been in the form of his life, but insists “there is room for improvement, there are many things to learn. I leave comparisons with other players to journalists and coaches, I only want to work hard to become a better player. Finishing as top scorer was never my objective. I'm not a forward, I'm more a playmaker but as long as my goals help Milan win games I'm happy."

As 23 May approaches, those goals have given Milan every reason for confidence. "The Champions League has always been our main focus. We started well, then we had a bad period, but now we're back at our peak at the most important part of the season." Not even a specialist in penalty-saving like Pepe Reina gives cause for concern. "I'm only thinking about positive things and I scored a penalty in Istanbul as well so I'm prepared to take one again. Liverpool have won some important games on penalties but I'm sure they don't want that again. No team plays for penalties."

The bond between Milan and Kaká is strong, too strong to let constant transfer talk linking him with Real Madrid CF disrupt the relationship. "This club is like a family. I feel at home here which is very important for me. The rumours about Madrid do not disturb me. I have a contract with Milan until 2011 and I will move only if they want to sell me." Things might have been very different for the former São Paulo FC player who first moved to Europe in 2003. "I didn't pick Milan, Milan picked me. I could have joined Chelsea [FC] but they wanted to send me on loan to Russia while Milan had faith in me immediately. Looking back, I'm very happy with what destiny had in store for me." Of course he is not leaving anytime soon, but from what he has said, he will probably only stay with us until the end of his contract and he has said numerous times that he would like to one day for Real as it is every player's dream... I hate it when he says that!!!

People are always looking at the number of CL titles. They don't care so much about other cups. I think in 8-10 years we will surpass them on that too.
As for marketing I don't want us to be like them. They even buy players just for that. They are most popular club in the world, but in the last 20 years we are undoubtably the best.

Liverpool in that case, would be able to buy all of the worlds great, they have the history, they have the money.

Liverpool "have the money"? Oh, yes... 6 months ago they got the dollars (Hicks and Gillett), but on the last 10 years? No money. At least not to be competitive to the 1st place in England. From now on... maybe.

Juventus? Pick them over us? Nah, but over many other clubs yes. Why? Because Juventus is owned by Agnelli family. Nowadays it's Elkann, not Agnelli but it's the same roots.
Do you know what that mean? The Ferrari, Maserati, FIAT, Alfa Romeo, Lancia... all that group? They own Juventus too. They've a lot of it ($$$).

They spend more than 50M-euros last season?
Where? In Pennant? No they don't have and you know it. They didn't have like 30M-euros to spend on a midfielder like Carrick or 45M on a Shevchenko.
Liverpool didn't have the same revenue that Onighted had (don't win a EPL for long) and David Moores didn't have much money to put on the club.
That's why you look at them and everbody says "With 3 world-class players they can be as good as Chelsea."
But they didn't have that $$$ to buy those 3. Benitez said that some days ago. This summer with the Americans, I hope they spend big.

I believe that 85% of the 'quotes' (and I use that term loosely) they get from Kaka are made up the other ones that they do actually get out of him, they misquote him and play around with the words he says to make it sound like something else.

Atm going to Madrid from Milan is trading down, everybody knows this Kaka is not stupis.
