Kaka wants United repeat

Kaka is looking for Milan to repeat their performance against Manchester United in their UEFA Champions League final with Liverpool, in order to help him 'write his name in history'.

Milan set up a repeat of their 2005 meeting with The Reds when putting Manchester United to the sword in their semi-final.

The Brazilian has been Milan's shining light this term and has been billed as the best player in the world.

Kaka is happy to take the praise from fans and media, but is aware it will count for little if Milan are beaten in Athens.

He feels a repeat of their semi-final display will be enough to see off Rafa Benitez's Reds

"What happened in 2005 has already happened and I think this game is another chance to write my name in history and Milan's name in history," Kaka told Sky Sports News.

"If we can play the same as against Manchester, we can win this game."

Kaka is aware of his role in the team, but is expecting a different challenge against The Reds than the one posed by United.

"I know what I can do and I know my responsibilities in this team and this opinion of me being the best player in the world is from the journalists and the supporters," he added.

"I think Liverpool have got an English style. They are tactically good and a strong team. They are different to Manchester.

"We can expect less space than the game against Manchester."

Kaka feels Steven Gerrard is the man Milan will have to shackle in Athens.

"I like Gerrard. I like him as a player and as a person," said Kaka. "He can make the difference."

When I read the title 'kaka' wants reds repeat' I thought he wanted us to lose again.. Then realised he meant United. (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

http://www.marca.com/edicion/marca/futbol/...llo/998850.html

Marca says that Kaka' could have played the last match as a Milan player in Athens.

Well, I believe it's just a question of time (Madrid-Kaka') but I think it's more like in 2011... 2012. At the moment I think it's pathetic to think that.

I mean, no key player leaves THE European Champions.

I just don't know why Kaka wants to go to Real while he can stay here and become a true legend. Of course he is not leaving anytime soon, but from what he has said, he will probably only stay with us until the end of his contract and he has said numerous times that he would like to one day for Real as it is every player's dream... I hate it when he says that!!! (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/mad.gif)

Why do players want to go to Madrid ?! They all dream of playing there, for what reason ?!

Because it is the #1 club in Europe ?! Well, that is true prior to the 23rd of May, 2007 (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/cool.gif)

From that day, Milan is #1 in the World. Milan has more trophies than Madrid and in this context, Milan is an even greater club than Madrid. Especially ever since the millennium, Milan has been at the top of European standings (UEFA).

When Milan wins the Euro Super Cup and Intercontinental Cup. I don't think players would choose Madrid, ahead of Milan (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

Milan is #1, my friend (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/king.gif)

They still have 9 CL... and still the most mediatic club in the world. If they win the La Liga this year, even more. I think they're gonna be the #1 club in that forever. Not even if Chelsea wins 20 EPL in a row or 10 CL. Real Madrid were the 1st big-club who marked an era, the first era in the European soccer.
Plus... they're the #1 in fan-base around the world. We're not. Not even United will one day surpass Madrid in the "media" thing. That's why Man.Onighted supporters hate them so much. They know it.

And Serie A is not the same as 5-10 years ago. Maybe in 2-3 years with Juventus back to the top... Napoli, Genoa in A too... maybe we'll be as competitive as La Liga or EPL. Or at least get the same attetion as those leagues, because at the moment Serie A is far away...

That's Madrids main problem. They've won 9 European Cups. with 6 coming in the first 11 years of the competition. Only 3 European Cups in the last 40 years.

Their history is ancient, ours is recent.

Milan > Madrid.

But, today, Milan is #1 ... The most trophies internationally (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

Madrid have 9 CL, we have 7 (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/cool.gif)

By next year, I believe, we will be even more competitive; Madrid are just getting back at it (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

Chelsea ?! Liverpool ?! These teams are not even close to our level. It is Madrid and Milan for some time to come (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/king.gif) This is what Berlusconi wants, the #1 team in the world (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/cool.gif)

Yeah... past. 3 CL on the last 10 years... (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) If they win La Liga everybody will just bown down to them just like everybody did with Man Onighted. The difference is that Madrid is much bigger than Onighted.

Berlusconi always said that there's only 1 club at the same level as Milan. And that's Real Madrid.

Mourinho agrees too (my sig). (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

People are always looking at the number of CL titles. They don't care so much about other cups. I think in 8-10 years we will surpass them on that too.

As for marketing I don't want us to be like them. They even buy players just for that. They are most popular club in the world, but in the last 20 years we are undoubtably the best.

Players don't look for CL titles so much, I don't think so anyways.

Liverpool in that case, would be able to buy all of the worlds great, they have the history, they have the money.

Liverpools downside is where they are from, nodody wants to go play in the north, which is why Chelsea get the pick of the players.

Juventus don't have many CL titles, but alot of players still pick them over us.
