QUOTE (Rossoneri7 @ Apr 7 2011, 06:49 AM)

It is important to set aside the sentiments for our midfield generals, yet would it hurt the club to keep hold of our Captain & Vice Captain ? Well, I am of the opinion that Gattuso should leave .. But knowing Galliani, that is something that wont happen.
Going back to my question, I believe it wont hurt us to keep them .. Add more grinta to midfield and cement it with one of the more experienced players will render a very good combination. That being said, I believe MVB, Ambrosini & KPB is a great combination .. Alternatively, we can play around with that line-up, substituting Pirlo for Ambrosini or KPB.
The more midfielders we have the better .. The matter at hand is that the wage cap needs to drop, as Pirlo is one of the top earners .. hence it is impossible to assess this unless we understand the intentions of Ambro & Pirlo; they should remain with us, logic says there is a good enough reason for them to stay. Considering Galliani has not tied them down, just goes to highlight the class of this club allowing the more senior players to choose their destinies after serving this club proudly.
In any case, I am strongly supportive of Ambrosini's contract extension ... We need our captain now more than ever, especially considering the changes that have occurred and will occur this season & the next.
100% behind that. Saved me a lot of typing because I was gonna basically say this.

So as of today, three names have been circulating @ Via Turati: Mexes, Taiwo & Ganso.
Notable to mention, Ganso has an EU passport, while Taiwo after spending 7 yrs at OM is applying for the same.
Braida has flown out yesterday to initiate talks in reducing Ganso's asking price, while Taiwo & Mexes are 99% confirmed to come this summer.

I still have concerns over how good the Ibra-Pato partnership can flourish.
Also i think Criscito or Tremoulinas would be better choices at LB despite not being free/cheap as taiwo

Well, Taiwo hasn't declared his destination yet, though he said some time ago Milan remains his priority, so I guess we'll be the ones to sign him. I still would prefer Cissokho over him, but considering he'll be coming for free, can't say no to that.

Cissokho is in a different class then Taiwo, but i think B&G have irreparably burned that brigde. Best case scenario for LB if we do plan on searching externally would be Tremoulinas or Criscito. Though we will probably end up getting either Maxwell or Taiwo.

Tremoulinas, no idea who he is. I don't think we've been linked with him. Criscito would be nice considering his age, his nationality and his versatility. However, as leftback, Taiwo is more complete.

i would actually have to disagree regarding Taiwo vs. Criscito. I think Taiwo is an ok player but there are a few concerns my Nigerian friend had bitched about. He(not my friend

) is lazy going back, has questionable positioning, tries to hard to be a forward, and lacks focus. Don't take his word for it though, as few here follow Ligue 1, i dug this up, a facebook group of OM/Nigeria fans that want him to quit football.
if you need me too, i'll translate it.Tremoulinas was recently capped for France (they have plenty to chose from!) and the biggest reason Chamakh is playing for arsenal. It's well accepted Bordeau's deep CL run 2 years ago had alot to do With Alou Diarra, Marouane Chamahk, Yoan Gourcoff and the quiet, less-publicized Benoit Tremoulinas. Great two-way player with great crosses, good speed and good dribbling.
As for Criscito, i rate him a little higher. I think Italian clubs have an issue evaluating the national talent. He has a great understanding of the game and how to hold the ball and make great decisions with it. He was solid attacking and defending when he was deployed as a LB in Gasperini's 3-4-3 and occasionally played Mid where he learned to hold possession, and spread the ball accurately.

Santos playmaker Paulo Henrique Ganso has given the club an ultimatum amid strong interest from Milan.
The 21-year-old Brazil international inspired Santos to a 3-2 victory over Colo Colo in the Copa Libertadores on Thursday.
After the game Ganso told Santos President Luiz Alvaro Ribeiro that he would like to move to Italy as soon as possible.
The Brazil international has been branded a mercenary by Santos fans, who held a protest against his actions after a defeat to Palmeiras.
Milan have already been in contact with Papito Lima, the agent and brother of Ganso.
Third party company DIS, who own 45 per cent of Ganso's contract, have also been sounded out.
La Gazzetta dello Sport understands Ganso's future is tied to Santos' progress in the Copa Libertadores.
Santos have a chance to progress next Wednesday with a win in Paraguay against Cerro Porteno.
However, Neymar, Elano and Ze Eduardo are suspended, so the odds are not stacked in Santos' favour.

Santos' Ganso supported Milan in derby v Inter - Thiago SilvaThiago Silva claims that Ganso wants to sign a contract with his Milan team, and cheered for them on in their derby win against Inter...
Milan star Thiago Silva has claimed that Brazil team-mate Ganso favours a move to the Rossoneri, and that his side had the Santos starlet's support for last week's derby thrashing of Inter.
The 21-year-old has been strongly linked with both Milan giants in recent months, and with contract talks with Santos almost deadlocked a move to Europe looks increasingly likely to take place in the near future. Ganso himself has been tight-lipped on what his preference would be; but according to friend and Milan centre-back Thiago Silva, he is favouring the red and black half of the Italian city.
"I spoke with him before the derby and he told me that he would be watching the game on television. He also admitted that he was going to cheer for Milan and that he hopes to sign a contract with us," Thiago told Corriere della Sera on Friday morning.
"Milan cannot let Ganso escape, because he is a brilliant player. The next time I'm in Brazil, maybe I'll take him back in my luggage!"
Despite enduring a seven-month lay-off due to injury, the Peixe star has become one of the most sought after players in Brazil. For the Milan rock though, the reasons for the attention are obvious, as he showered praise on the talented number 10.
"I know him well, and I know what he is capable of doing. Even when he plays as the primary attacker he tracks back and marks. He could be the new Ronaldo, because he is certainly the new phenomenon of Brazilian football," Thiago Silva affirmed.
Milan face an away trip to Fiorentina this weekend as they look to consolidate a three-point lead at the top of Serie A.

Braida is supposed to travel to Brazil next week. He's going to negotiate with Santos in order to reduce Ganso's price from the €50 million stipulated by his recension clause to €25 million, which is the maximum price Milan is willing to pay. We already have an agreement with the player (€3 million per season) and DIS, the third party that owns his rights.

Also, regarding Taiwo, he wants to sign for us, but we've put negotiations on hold for the moment. Firstly, because Taiwo is non-EU. Secondly, because he's not on top of B&G's list. Milan patron Silvio Berlusconi has once again claimed that it's a dream of his to sign Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo and to win the Scudetto.
Earlier this month, Il Cavaliere revealed his admiration for Ronaldo on the basis that the former Ballon d'Or winner always finds a way to make the difference.
Starring as a guest on Italian TV show Il Processo di Biscardi, Berlusconi said: “Dreams are allowed and sometimes they transform into reality.
“If we were to win the Scudetto, the next transfer window could lead us to add one or two champions. The chance of signing Ronaldo isn't remote because a player can decide to leave his club.”
Asked about Milan's season so far, he said: “Milan are a team who have come out of a period of incidents thanks to a big squad that we have readied and that has allowed us to line up a well-seasoned team.
“We are at the top of the table pursued by this extraordinary Napoli side. Our objective is to get to the end of the season and still be at the top of the table.”
Finally, Berlusconi had a few words of praise for Max Allegri.
“I liked him from the first moment I met him. As a person he represents the identity and style of Milan well.
“A President like me, who has been in football for a long time, might sometimes have ideas on particular moments in games, but even so you can't expect the Coach to always do what the President wants.
“With Allegri, we talk often and engage in long reflections on the telephone, always finding ourselves in agreement. As a Coach I believe that he could be the fourth in this series after Sacchi, Capello and Ancelotti.”
I bet one of those champions is Ganso. And,the other, well I think it will be a surprise! ;p
