QUOTE (X-Offender @ Apr 6 2011, 07:07 PM) Seedorf: "I'm evaluating Corinthians' proposal. I've talked with Ronaldo about it. Brazil is a country I love". LinkPlease, accept it! I hope some of the geniuses in here don't feel that, should we win the league, we must renew our oldies' contracts. History always teaches lessons. We made the same mistake in 2007, when our team was on the photo-finish of its cycle. Result? Two mediocre seasons. It took us a while to get back on top, and we're still in the process. If we don't want all this effort to go in vain, we must rejuvenate our roster this summer AT ALL COST!!! Agreed, the old gaurd of the midfield needs to go, the attack and defence aren't really a problem aside from the LB position, espcially considering that Nesta confirmed that he'll play on next season, and with the addition of Mexes, that's a really strong backline. Also taking into account Abate's continued progress which has gone up in leaps and bounds this season. The atack is great as is, maybe bring back Paloschi But that midfield needs to be overhauled with the exception of the guys that came in this season, Flamini and Pirlo. Gattuso, Ambro and Seedorf need to be let go, they've served this team and deserve the utmost respect for it, but come next season they need to be respectfully, and I stress on that, let go. I'm not saying throw them out but the clubs needs to part ways with such players, holding on to these old memories is holding the team back, and has been doing so for a while.

It is important to set aside the sentiments for our midfield generals, yet would it hurt the club to keep hold of our Captain & Vice Captain ? Well, I am of the opinion that Gattuso should leave .. But knowing Galliani, that is something that wont happen. Going back to my question, I believe it wont hurt us to keep them .. Add more grinta to midfield and cement it with one of the more experienced players will render a very good combination. That being said, I believe MVB, Ambrosini & KPB is a great combination .. Alternatively, we can play around with that line-up, substituting Pirlo for Ambrosini or KPB. The more midfielders we have the better .. The matter at hand is that the wage cap needs to drop, as Pirlo is one of the top earners .. hence it is impossible to assess this unless we understand the intentions of Ambro & Pirlo; they should remain with us, logic says there is a good enough reason for them to stay. Considering Galliani has not tied them down, just goes to highlight the class of this club allowing the more senior players to choose their destinies after serving this club proudly. In any case, I am strongly supportive of Ambrosini's contract extension ... We need our captain now more than ever, especially considering the changes that have occurred and will occur this season & the next.

QUOTE (Jack Bauer @ Apr 7 2011, 08:42 AM) I would welcome all 3 with open arms. Abate - Silva - Nesta- Taiwo Boateng - MvB - Pirlo Ganso Pato Zlatan (IMG: style_emoticons/default/devil.gif) I still have concerns over how good the Ibra-Pato partnership can flourish. Also i think Criscito or Tremoulinas would be better choices at LB despite not being free/cheap as taiwo All in all, this is a formidable lineup!

QUOTE (Rossoneri7 @ Apr 7 2011, 11:44 AM) So as of today, three names have been circulating @ Via Turati: Mexes, Taiwo & Ganso.
Notable to mention, Ganso has an EU passport, while Taiwo after spending 7 yrs at OM is applying for the same.
Braida has flown out yesterday to initiate talks in reducing Ganso's asking price, while Taiwo & Mexes are 99% confirmed to come this summer. Well, Taiwo hasn't declared his destination yet, though he said some time ago Milan remains his priority, so I guess we'll be the ones to sign him. I still would prefer Cissokho over him, but considering he'll be coming for free, can't say no to that.

Cissokho is in a different class then Taiwo, but i think B&G have irreparably burned that brigde. Best case scenario for LB if we do plan on searching externally would be Tremoulinas or Criscito. Though we will probably end up getting either Maxwell or Taiwo.
