We have the chance to transfer a great talent for 10-15m. He would make a great vice-Ibra.

A great talent and a nut case. I'd rather wait until he's settled down.

Why do we have to search for a vice-Ibra when Allegri has trouble to find a spot for Pato, while at the same time our creative midfield department counts only Seedorf? I don't get it...yes, he could be cheap, but hell, he'll always stay cheap is he maintains his pattern of behavior.

Pedulla : Galliani is about to close the deal for Aquilani

QUOTE
As revealed by Alfredo Pedulla during 'Football Special', broadcast on Sportitalia, the CEO of AC Milan, Adriano Galliani, Monday or Tuesday will meet Franco Zavaglia, agent of Alberto Aquilani, to define the details of which will the Liverpool midfielder with the Rossoneri. The Via Turati club, therefore, is more than ever determined to close with the former Juventus in Rome and, at this point closer to signing his pact with the devil.

Fedele : 2 players could arrive

QUOTE
Guest in the studies of Sportitalia, the journalist of the Corriere dello Sport, Furio True, the market has spoken of the Rossoneri, "Galliani is very heavy and quiet and I have some huge shots in the second barrel. Milan have an amicable agreement with Montolivo also if it goes to the bench will definitely be Bayern. So I am convinced that Milan will take two midfielders and a striker. Kaka? It depends on the father, should his salary deducted to return to Milan. "

Milan line up €7m Aquilani swoop

QUOTE
Milan are on the verge of completing their €7m swoop for Liverpool midfielder Alberto Aquilani.

Riccardo Montolivo had been the primary target for the summer, but on Friday Fiorentina director Pantaleo Corvino scoffed at their proposal and declared he would “only be sold abroad.”

With this in mind and time running out, the Rossoneri have transferred their efforts to signing Aquilani instead.

The midfielder is an Italian international who has made it abundantly clear he’d like a return to Serie A after Juventus refused to take up their option on his loan spell.

According to the Gazzetta dello Sport, Liverpool are prepared to part with Aquilani for only €7m.

It is a huge drop from the €20m the Reds paid for this player to take him from Roma in August 2009.

I've been also reading that Borriello wants to leave Roma. Milan has been mentioned, but quite frankly, I don't see how he could fit into our well-oiled attack.

Hey, that's my line you stole. huh.gif laugh.gif Like I said earlier, there is high chance we'll get him for 6-8 million. And it will be money well spent. Plus Aquaman if we can get our dirty little hands on, and Kaka seems like a sure fire fit. These are three creative players for positions we desperately lack them in. Currently, it's mostly muscle in our midfield.

Add these three (if they go through) to the ones we already signed, and I can safely say we had the best summer transfer window in all of Europe. In all of Europe, I say. Pharaoh, Mexes, getting back Paloschi as cover, and so on and so forth.

Well it's true. Rino is like the transperant figure running around without effect only gaining yellow cards.

He'd be an idiot because this season Bayern have a packed midfield that he probably won't get a lot of time in, and it is a Euro year so he'll be trying to get his spot into that team come summer. Him not playing while Aquilani gets a lot of time for us would mean losing his spot, Pirlo is still the go-to man in that midfield. So it would be De Rossi, Pirlo and either Monto or Aqui.

I don't think we'll see Schweini leaving Bayern just yet.

Hmm, I think Robinho would do better in that position, as x-off said, as long as Rino is not a starter then it's good. Allegri will most likely tweak things around until we get it right. This is why I hate Galliani's penchant for drama. We could have nabbed both Aquilani and Montolivo early this summer, Monto always wanted to leave while we could have swooped in when Juve's deadline was up for Aqui. That would have meant Allegri having time to experiment with what works best, instead of experimenting during the first games like last season.
Rossoneri7
We never needed both Montolivo and Aquilani, one is enough for rotational purposes and to freshen up our midfield. Now we close that deal and go for someone with enough quality to add a new dimension to our game.

Maybe Kaka in the closing days and Ganso in the winter? That would add volumes to the strength of our midfield.

But we don't really need Kaka, we need a CM. Kaka would be the cherry on top of the cake. Montolivo and Aquilani would be the ones that are mostly needed since serveral players in our squad can already play the AM position without too much hassle.

Aquilani wouldn't be rotation fodder, he's be a sure fire starter if things stay as they are. Montolivo is the only other good CM currently available on the market.
Rossoneri7
Not true, Once apon a time Ricky provided 80% of our attacking potential from midfield. You need quality, Kaka is a guarantee in that respect.

Aquilani would provide good depth to the squad, I cant predict what he would be worth to us come season's end, but from what I saw last season, I doubt he will be anything more than average ala Flamini/Gilardino (Average in Milan terms).

I would have prefered Montolivo to Aquilani tbh ... Doesnt matter anymore I guess.

Kaka had Seedorf and Pirlo behind him, and he was at the super human level in terms of performances back then. Now he'll be backed up by Aqui/Boateng and Gattuso and he's nowhere near the Kaka of old.

You simply cannot compare the 2 circumstances.

I'm sure that Aquilani will be a starter, simply because he'll be our best option, that is why I don't think he's nowhere near enough. Last season we had Pirlo and the situation got pretty bad after a couple of injuries in the midfield. Now Pirlo is gone and we're most likely bringing in just 1 mid. We're still going to be in the same waters. We needed another mid when Pirlo was still here, with Pirlo gone we needed 2, and that is without taking into consideration the AM position
Rossoneri7
Bro, I agree, we need someone of 'quality' to feed Kaka, thats what Iv been saying all along. Aquilani and Montolivo even when paired are no Pirlo and Seedorf. We need Pirlo/Seedorf quality players.

If you want to ascert to Aquilani starting if he were signed, I hope he does that good to earn one. However, his recent past says otherwise.

Kaka's quality/experience is what we need, a quality midfielder for him to feed from and an aid to Seedorf in midfield, thats what I want for this team.

The club has maintained a rather shady position recently .. But that does not mean the issues you are raising isn't a matter of concern. I am sure the club are well aware of Pirlo's departure, as they are aware of Ambro, Ringo, MVB, & Seedorf's age and expiring contracts at season's end.

This further cements to notion of bringing in quality in midfield, a Fiorentina esque midfield never got them anything noteworthy.
Fillipo Simone
Even though I don't feel comfortable with Kaka coming back, I must say, I agree with R7 to the extent that I'd rather have Kaka+Montolivo/Aquilani then Aquilani and Montolivo but no Kaka.

As I've asked before but never been given a straight asnwer. Name me two players who are on that level, are affordable for us and available, personally I'm coming up with a huge blank.

Once again, I think you're terribly under-rating both players. Aquilani would be our best option because I don't see that Pirlo/Seedorf level player coming in any time soon. However, once Aquilani is out of the equation should an injury happen then what? Maybe Seedorf but he cannot play more then once a week, especially if these injury issues crop up during those months when games come in tick and fast. That is why I believe we need both. Had we brought in Cesc, we probably wouldn't have had any money left over for any signing, and we'd still be in the same position should he get injured. That's why for now I'd accept 2 good players instead of one top class player.

I personally believe that Kaka would be a bonus, a really great bonus but imo we can do without him, Robinho, Cassano or Boateng, even Seedorf could all play in the AM position and as they've demonstrated last season, they could do it to great effects. While the situation in midfield cannot be as easily brushed off.

We have plent of players with quality and experiance, some wih toooo much experience wink.gif We need to make steps ahead. and the midfield imo is our only real achilles heal. Great attack, great defence, good players in the midfield will be enough for now to do better then last season, maybe nt win the CL, but do better. And maybe that makes me someone without any ambition, but personally I beleive that had we bought Cesc we still wouldn't have won the CL anyway so...

And it wouldn't be a Fiorentina esque midfield because we brought in their player. We have a top class DM and a top class box-to-box man, but no craft. That is imo, the missing puzzle, and big name or not, if that missing piece is filled we'll do great things this season. That is what I believe.

I guess as you say we cannot know. A lot of what ifs go into it. We cannot know how a top class player would fit in, or whether a Monto/Aqui combo would do better. You can easily spend ridiculous money on a player and he'll turn out a big dud for you, as has been proven time and again in big money transfers. I think the only player that lived up to his transfer fee imo has been C.Ronaldo.

QUOTE (Fillipo Simone @ Aug 20 2011, 07:55 PM) *
Even though I don't feel comfortable with Kaka coming back, I must say, I agree with R7 to the extent that I'd rather have Kaka+Montolivo/Aquilani then Aquilani and Montolivo but no Kaka.

Personally I think we'd need all 3 for a huge push this season on all fronts. But Kaka is mostly the bonus from that package imo. We don't have the creativity or the depth in creativity in our midfield. You campaigned a lot for Cassano in attack, simply because you saw that we needed the depth in attack, because now we might have a lot of striker, but an injury or 2 and we'd be in a problematic situation. Same goes o our midfield, we might have a gazilllion DMs, but Seedorf is the only creator, and maybe Aquilani if he comes, which I'm still not sure will happen seeing as a couple of days ago Monto was the sure thing according to the media, who imo at this point know nothing more then us.

Should the hypothetical Aquilani get injured, then everything falls on Seedorf, and it's already been agreed by the absolute majory that he cannot handle that kind of work load.

Also it has to be said, that both players can occupy the position behind the strikers, so should there be injuries in attack, one of them can always take over in that position.

My point being that if we do bring in Aquilani, then we'd need someone else for the midfield, Kaka or no Kaka.
Dracoris
Kaka's father is his agent, so if he takes a mega wage cut his father will take a mega wage cut as well. It makes sense that you would run something like that by a family member before you do it.

Realistically though, that story was probably made up by some guy bored in his office ready to go home.
X-Offender
I get your point han, but still, I'd rather take Kaka' + Montolivo/Aquilani then both the latter ones. We need a world class player to push the quality meter in our midfield, someone who can win you games single-handledly. Ricky is that sort of player. Granted, he's not the Kaka' of four years ago, but class doesn't age. If he's fit, then he'll do the trick. I would be very happy if we signed him and one of the two Italians (possibly Montolivo). That means Boateng would occupy Ghosttuso's spot, Seedorf would get plenty of rest and Ibra and Pato would be backed up by a world class trequartista. Our attacking power would be doubled.

Wasn't it required by law. unsure.gif It was not just a loan deal, it was a permanent loan deal with the obligation to buy. It's jut that the transfer fee was to be paid later down the road. As for the Kaka + Monto/Aqui thing, the Kaka rumours seem to have completely died down. I don't think there was ever any solid basis for them and we are going into the final week of the transfer window. So it looks like just Aquilani will be coming. Which is why I said I wanted the 2 Italians, because just Aqui is not enough imo.

We'll see what happens, can't wait for it to be over so we'll know how we'll look for next season. We can always go for Monto in January and get him on the cheap then.

Bonera is total crap, sorry for the disrespect, but I haven't seen a defender as bad as him at Milan since Giuseppe Cardone. And dst, Kaladze doesn't count, he's a out of any competition.

And you guys are serious about Lugano? I mean, with all due respect, he as a captain of Uruguay does a tremendous job, but hey, he's not as good as Yepes. His only problem is speed, but with Lugano pushing 31, I'm quite convinced he wouldn't bring a significant change. Also, you may say that both never really played for big teams, but Lugano is playing year after year in the Turkish league, while Yepes came as one of the best defenders in Serie A, from Chievo.
