Even if all Italian team don't go in the next phase , Italy will still have 4 spots.
But I'm quite sure that Fiorentina and Milan will go through in the quater final.

This is the best Inter can do at home?

Not only did they refuse to play football, Cesar even wasted time whenever he had the chance to ever since they scored their first goal!
It was also funny hearing their fans shout like they had scored every time the easiest of passes was completed. I bet that's the best they can expect to see from their team in Europe...
As for the penalty not given on Kalou... that's as clear a penalty as they come. Judging on Mou's reaction Sunday (when the ref was actually right) if this had happened to Inter he would have dug his own grave on the San Siro turf, then would jump in and keep his hands crossed in the handcuffs gesture...

I don't think it deserved a yellow. he got up even before he hit the ground! and didn't even protest ffs. yellow card is for when a player simulates a foul.

I don't see how that was not simulation, he clearly goes down intentionally to get the penalty. The only reason he does not protest is because he knows he had made a mistake.

Inter showed more quality than Chelsea, and they deserved the win, but the idea of Inter progressing would leave a sour taste in my mouth. I would like for Carlo to knock them out with a clean 4 - 0 brute defeat for Inter at the Bridge!
The reason I feel this way is because Mourinho's annoying ego will only grow bigger if he progresses to the Quarter final

What Locke said, plus that I'd let them get a little bit nearer to the final this time, thinking that this might actually be their chance to win it, only to get knocked out in an embarrassing fashion in the quarters or semis. that'd be sweeter, wouldn't it?

besides, it would benefit Serie A if some Italian side actually progressed to the next round! I honestly can't see us going through, neither can I see Viola doing it...

Conceding 3 goals at home would be enough to concur your thoughts and I hope United think that way as well. At the same time, I hope we take the pitch on the 10th with nothing to loose and put 3 in the back of their net, football is crazy like that

If I said 1000 you'd say that's too small a number.
I am sure there are plenty of very nice Italian football fans, and I've even encountered a few such individuals - but if you add the constant hooliganism, Ultras etc etc plus the strange arrogance I seem to experience with them, then it's not overly promising overall.
The fairest way I can put it is this - I am not a fan of Serie A, apart from our beloved Milan, and I am not a fan of the Italian national side after a number of incidents I've seen involving them, including against Scotland.
I have also only encountered a minority of Italian supporters that I found pleasant - the majority were not.
I am not saying this is representative of every one of them, but I haven't had the same problem with many if any other nationality of supporter - this forum being a terrific example of a multi national multi cultural fanbase.
