It's clearly a plot against them! The other car must have been driven by a referee!

VfB Stuttgart 1-0 Barcellona

Goal Cacau in the 25th.
Danny
Tonight's CL couldn't interest me less if it tried, for some odd reason.

Oh, and don't underestimate Stuttgart - despite a sticky start in group G, they showed their mettle and qualified for the last 16 on merit.

Barcelona, otoh, came undone against Atletico and while they're still pretty imperious, they're injury hit at the moment. No Alvez, Toure, Abidal.
Zed.D
HT. Stuttgart 1-0 Barca.

Stuttgart were FAR superior and it should be at least 2-0 but Barca were a bit lucky.

Let's see if Pep has a "plan B" to introduce in the 2nd half; or just because his plan A was so good (thanks to an unbelievably strong squad) he always got away from being labeled an inexperienced coach. rolleyes.gif

tbh he has the 3 best players in the world at his disposal. That's pretty fortunate for any coach.
Zed.D
More than that a great, harmonious "team". that's more fortunate for any coach to have!

Well, let's see what Senor Guardiola has:

A good if not marquee goalie in Valdes.

A solid central defence if not a revered one.

Arguably the best right back on earth and one of the best left backs.

Simply put the best midfield on planet earth.

And an attack boasting a resplendent Henry, a hint of genius in Zlatan and the dynamite of Messi.

Yeah, not bad really. Even Tony Mowbray would have that lot winning the odd game...maybe...

I could probably be manager and win a few games with Barca's team, and I'd just sit there and maybe yell at the ref a few times.

You mean you don't care about the insignificant Barcelona right? Because I'm sure that you (together with the rest of the world) will not be sleeping tonight as you'll be watching the Olympiacos game again and again!

Yeah... and it bothers me that Leo's case (and to an extent, Ciro's) gets (got) compared to Pep's and deems to be a failure.

Leo is doing as good, if not better, as Pep when you take the respective squads they are given to work with into consideration. give Leo a squad as good as Barca's and see whether or not he can win titles. accordingly, give Pep this Milan and see if he can do all these 'miracles'.

PS. I love both Pep and Leo! just wanted to illustrate my point, that's all.
Jack Sparrow
I love Leo more than Pep. And I agree with you.

Probably Pep is a little more ruthless at axing players...compared to Leo...but that can both be a good as well as bad thing.

Zed.D
Who has Pep axed? I really can't remember...

This a Mediaset bit of news translated by Google Translate, but I think you'll get the picture:

INTER FANS, SHOW WITH HANDCUFFS?
Secondo la Gazzetta dello sport i tifosi dell'Inter, dopo la panolada durante Inter-Samp, potrebbero contestare con il gesto di Mourinho. According to the Gazzetta dello Sport the fans of Inter, after panolada during Inter-Samp, could contest with the gesture of Mourinho. Nulla è stato preparato: c'è soltanto una voce che corre su internet. Nothing was prepared: there is only a rumor on the Internet.

Stupidity will be taken to a whole new level if they do this.
Fishdoll
These're the same guys who hurl mopeds off the stands at the San Siro and who throw flares at opposing team players. They're already at that level, zeddie. smile.gif

I didn't mean the Delio Rossi kind of axing. Players like Eto'o or Hleb come to mind. If he doesn't want them they're out pronto.
Fishdoll
FYI, Paolo and Billy were at the San Siro yesterday...to watch the Chelsea practice and hang out with Carletto. There's a couple of pictures in Gazzetta.

Link? Can't find any.

clicky

EDIT: And also according to Gazzetta, police have had to step in between groups of Chelsea and bad team fans in Piazza Duomo this afternoon after they started throwing bottles at each other.

EDIT: Eurosport says the Chelsea fans started throwing the bottles, for what it's worth. But the Inter fans had a poster of Pato that they spat at and then set on fire, so....
Jack Sparrow
So Chelsea have Malouda as LB. I expect a butchering...

Italian fans are a breed of animal I will never understand. Ultras, in particular, make me want to vomit.

It really will be an interesting match to say the least.

I don't think Chelsea will get butchered - I'd have to say I'm pretty neutral tonight.

+1. They really have this "The world owes us something" mentality that I can't stand.

Erm, what was that from John Terry? Pathetic defending. 1-0 already - Milito.
Zed.D
INTER!!!! 1-0. forza Inter biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

Just like us, they score in the 3rd minute.

Milito simply owned Terry out there. great goal!
Jack Sparrow
Chelsea down by a goal. In the first 3 mins. Milito with a superb finish.

Typical Ancelotti team. Always surprised when the opposition comes at you when the whistle blows.

EDIT: I dissed Pirlo. Then I do this. I'm obviously having some negativity issues.

tbh I'd have beaten Terry with him defending like that.
Fishdoll
It WAS the Chelsea fans who started throwing the bottles.

The fans of the bad team...well, the only good thing I can say about them is that in the second derby last year they had a very nice banner up for Il Capitano...unlike the Milan ultras.

Danny
As an aside, Inter clearly aren't letting our result affect their performance tonight.

That would have been a bit of a distraction, especially them counting on us losing.
d'Arc.LP
Well , tonight I'm Chelseas fan and I hope Inter will be beaten very badly.
Drogba shots very powerfully , but he just dont score sad.gif.

After the first 10 minutes Inter looked like they were going to stomp all over Chelsea, but the Londoners have come back into this and might make a game of it.
Zed.D
OMG The ref is retarded! stupid yellow card to Milito

For me , well deserved.
He simulated.
Patinho
That's typical milito if he did that
d'Arc.LP
I would give both Huntelaar and Borriello for Drogba.
His such powerfull .
I see Chealseas right side very weak in this first half.
Inters defenders are playing good , especially Lucio , and it will be almost imposibble for Chelseas strikers to penetrate it.They just can score if they shoot from distance.
Zed.D
CLEAR penalty not given to Chelsea. Gonzalez has been AWFUL tonight.

It was a stone waller I must admit.
samira
Drogba is a figther and everybody is on chealsas side!
And Chealsa is having the game, Inter seems clueless
CHU-LIP
Inter lucky AGAIN, and Chelsea unlucky AGAIN. Really? How is that NOT a penalty kick?

Without thinking twice.
samira
I agree with u, drogba is strong but Hunte and Pato got a bright future in front them,
Leo is anchelottis side, everybody wanna see Inter to lose and let see them lose !
Danny
Very smart finish from Kalou. But Cesar should have stopped it.
Zed.D
Clear Cesar mistake. even I would have stopped that!

2-1

CAMBIASSO!!!!!!!!!! GREAT SHOT
d'Arc.LP
Wow , Cambiaso scores.
Waiting for a response from Chelsea.
kurtsimonw
Inter needed that quick response, they need to take a lead to London now, especially after conceeding an away goal.
Fishdoll
Wait. They're not choking?

What's wrong?
Jack Sparrow
I have to say the atmosphere is great in San Siro.

@Tennie: It's a sorta depleted Chelsea side. No Essien and No LB.
Fishdoll
Hey, this time I'm actually not complaining. I want the bad team to win. Italy needs to keep its 4th cl spot!

(And I AM A FISH, not that silly person who squeals when she sees Alessandro Nesta.)
Zed.D
I'm baffled. Inter have looked dangerous every time they have pushed forward - hell, they responded so immediately. but every time they go up 1 goal, they stop playing. WHY, just why? it's not just about Inter. most Italian teams - well, minus Milan and Roma - seem to have that mentality.
