So, when RM first visited Lyon they lost 3-0. The second time they lost 2-0. The only conceded one now, they're improving!
I watched a 40min rerun of the game, RM had something like 61% possession but they could do nothing with it. Lyon had the better chances and deserved to win (maybe even deserved a second goal - Sissoko, in one of their chances, missed a big one) but if they play so negatively at Madrid they're probably going to succumb to the pressure.
Alonso will be suspended. Bad new for RM. Marcelo will be suspended too. Not that this makes any difference.

he played quite well tho, saved a goal too.
lisandro missed some good chances too. Casillas even kicked a goal kick right at him when he was just 25 yards from goal and alone but he wasnt expecting it and dint do anything with it

Forza Fiorentina and [as much as I hate to say this] Forza Inter. Serie A cannot afford to lose anymore ground to other leagues. it'd be a disaster if no Serie A side made it to the next round again. complete disaster.

I can see Italy's 4th CL spot being taken away sooner then anyone thought possible.
Inter will once again choke at the first hurdle, Fiorentina will most probably be out by the tonight, and we already have a foot out of the competition.

I agree. Though Bayerns defense is a huge problem for van Gaal. While Badstuber and Lahm are brilliant on the wings, the center with van Buyten and Demichelis is very vulnerable.

HT. Bayern 1-0 Fiorentina.
They conceded the goal at the worst time, right before the HT.
@ Fishdoll
Yes, it wouldn't be surprising if all three went out but I feel Inter might just go through this time. it will be disgraceful if they don't with all the quality players they've got!
Things don't look good for the Italian football. I ignored what people (read EPL fans) said for a couple of years but I'm beginning to think that they were right about Serie A being on a downward spiral. something MAJOR needs to be done. like big clubs owning their stadiums... it just can't be like this anymore. this is too bad.

Of all the things I never expected to see this year... Sol Campbell scores a goal for Arsenal in the 1/8-finals of the Champions League.
Anyway, HT Porto 1-1 Arsenal, and Fabianski pulled off what must shurely be "Howler of the season".

Van Bommel did one hell of a job on Montolivo's ankle.
Bayern earn a penalty right at the stroke of halftime that Robben converts. I think Fiorentina are unlucky to be down.

Arsenal still have the upper hand imo.
They play at home and have the away goal.
Although Porto can try to completely shut them out and park the bus, we all know that Arsenal can sometimes keep playing for days without scoring

I'm still confident we'll beat them in London though, provided we don't lose more players to injuries... and let me say this: absolutely brilliant performance from Sol Campbell. The guy hasn't played in the CL since 2006 and yet he was a friggin' titan today.

What the f was that? Tonight? That second goal that Arsenal conceded was stupid. I'm sure the ref just wants to see his name mentioned everywhere. I think it is legit but you can't let count!
What's even more infuriating is the second goal Fiorentina conceded. There is absolutely no way the linesman did not see that Klose was offside. There's not doubt in my mind that he chose not to raise his flag for whatever reason. And that certainly is not legit.

He was very good! He's very slow and I almost **** my pants in the first few minutes (when someone breezed by him but Campbell then stopped him with a last-minute tackle) but he did great out there.
Can't believe Fabianski though.

Wenger gets a lot of stick for a lot of stuff, but I think the one thing I'd be willing to crucify him about is his goalkeeping dealings, after Seaman retired the best we've had was that loon Lehmann...

Why? There was nothing wrong with the goal. Wenger didn't seem to mind when they scored a quick free kick at VP a few years ago, so I don't really understand what Wenger has to complain about. He should be having a go at Campbell for just standing there and doing nothing if anything.

Typical Bayern win. Great match by la Viola though.I think they would have deserved a draw. Bayerns second goal was a joke and the red card for Gobbi a bit harsh too. Even Bayern legend Franz Beckenbauer (who's a famous TC expert here) admitted it.
I've watched the game with a few friends, one of them a bayern fan. His version of the game was more like "We absolutely deserved to win. Fiorentina did nothing except defend defend defend. That's horrible. Ribery is coolest and best player on earth."...
