F.Torres did a very good job comin' from a injury.

Kuyt did a good match. He needs confidence to get to his best form and nothing better than a 85' goal vs. those cxnts.

Crouch needs to pass more. More team-work.

Pennant is underrated by many. For me he's better than the likes of Downing. At least he has tecnique.

Now it's Inter-Liverpool only in 11/03 (in 15 days there's a Milan-Arsenal in San Siro). Benitez knows what to do.

About the other matches.

-Olympiakos 0-0 Chelsea : No surprise. A draw. They'll win at home.

-Roma 2-1 R.Madrid : Lucky Roma. I don't think they stand a chance in Bernabeu after what I saw tonight.

-Schalke 1-0 Porto : It seems that Porto missed 1 or 2 sitters. At home, they should do it.

ahhhhhhh yes... another stumble for inter in CL biggrin.gif

Damn! smile.gif

I like all these 4 results!

Liverpool 2-0 Inter with a red card for Materazzi... it's self-explanatory... I still won't count Inter out, the son Moratti can also buy the ref...
Roma 2-1 Madrid Not the clearest of victories but still, Madrid lost! biggrin.gif They are still the favorites to go through though...
Schalke 1-0 Porto I prefer the Germans to Porto.
Oly 0-0 Chelsea Made my friends happy! biggrin.gif

I hope for another wonderful night tomorrow! 1 good result will be enough! Forza Milan!! devil.gif

I was talkin' about the NT. Downing was there during the last 2 years. Pennant not.

In the CL final last year, he was their best player along with Mascherano IMO.

i actually wanted inter to win, because in the end they always fck up and it would safer to see liverpool out right away.

It was a pretty average game with average displays by the majority of the players of both teams. In my view, Pennant was lively but did nothing of essence.

All in all, I don't think he's anything special.

Then again, if Pool go through he will have a special place in my heart! biggrin.gif

As for Pennant, no thanks. I don't think he has much of a chance for England anymore, not with the emergance of some other wide players.. ones that aren't regularly in prison. rolleyes.gif

Well...what a surprise...laugh.gif

I also hear it was something like 22 shots for the Scousers to 3 for Inter. I've been saying for some time now, that they're not the best team in Europe. It's all in the momentum.

I wouldn't have written the merda off, but then they're without Materazzi in the second leg also right??

Roma just managed to squeeze through I guess. But I think Madrid are too strong for them right now at home. And Roma have their own fractures in the team. Only thing is Schuster is not the two legged tactician that Carletto or Rafa is. But still I'd love Roma to go through.

I'm actually starting to respect those Scousers again. biggrin.gif

I'd like to check out a few inter forums. Anyone got any choice or funny posts from there? biggrin.gif

Darn..I do hope karma won't slap me in the face. biggrin.gif

I just had to put in this exchange of dialogue on the Inter forum:

It's really funny...how much they think they should win CL and think their team is inferior. While for us it's the Scudetto.

The grass is greener on the other side. biggrin.gif

And this is also funny...

Vieira? Stankovic? Cambiasso? For some of the best midfielders in the world, they were taken apart by a 19 year old (Leiva), 22 year old (Mascherano).

We looked like an amateur football team tonight, playing a pre-season friendly just for the sake of revenue against a big club.

We looked amateur, we looked rubbish, campione d'italia? Campione de merda.

See how confident they are despite playing like sh1t! losers!
Jack Sparrow
Well I think they are stunned. For some time based on their Serie A dominance, they've been proud to proclaim themselves as the best in Europe, and Zlatan as the best in the world.

Yesterday it just hit them in the face.

From the looks of things...Madrid look really strong I have to say. How cool would it be to have a Madrid-Barca match in CL. biggrin.gif

And as for Milan...darn I can't wait for this match..on pins and needles. I'm just so nervous about this.

Don't be like that guys, it can only come back to haunt you... besides, they are not out yet, they need 2 goals at San Siro and they will be level. Of course stupid Mancini keeps saying they need 3 goals which can only be good... but at least wait till the second half is over, remember what happened the last time Inter under a Moratti played Liverpool... they still have the money! wink.gif

Liverpool is a too experienced CL-team to give away the quarterfinal after such a result. They'll play a calm rematch and won't give Inter a chance just like they did it to Barca last year.

Barca won at Glasgow 2:3 - game over for Celtic
Lyon - United 1:1 - Good result for Manchester. Lyon chances are very small
Fener beat Sevilla 3:2 at home. Still pretty open but Sevilla will get the job done in Spain.
Darunia
Celtic is out, not a surprise. Tevez scored a late goal to snatch a 1-1 draw, if Lyon had won 1-0 it would've been really close, but looks like Man U will win at home. Sevilla has a huge advantage.

I ****ing. Love. The Champions. League. So unbelievably exciting!!

Lyon 1-1 United - Man. U are a big team... they proved it once again. I want them to go on so that they won't be totally focused on the championship race but a 1-0 for Lyon would have been perfect as it could possibly distract them a bit! Awesome goal by Benzema!! He'd be great for Arsenal, I hope he won't go to United. Ben Arfa needs to learn that football is a team game...

Celtic 2-3 Messi - What a ****ing great player this short Argentinian is... he's Barcelona's 60%, it's quite obvious! And what a classic by Henry!! Unique goal, only by the French b*tch! He's getting better and better after his forgettable first half of the season.

Fener 3-2 Sevilla - Big win for the Turkish side. I'm not so sure about Sevilla going through... but it's the more probable scenario!

On another note, Schuster is a loser! He has a much better team than Roma in his hands and he has a great chance to go through at Bernabeu so he should stop his whining about the referee...

Roberto Mancini was verbally attacked by a herd of Inter fans at Liverpool Airport last night, and was almost involved in a physical confrontation, according to reports in Italy.

The Nerazzurri face an uphill task to qualify for the quarter finals of the Champions League after their 2-0 first leg last 16 loss to Liverpool at Anfield.

According to Tuttosport, Mancini was set upon by a group of angry Inter supporters, who hurled abuse at the coach, blaming him for the defeat.

Mancini did not stay quiet, and is said to have reacted angrily by retuning the insults back at the fans.

The situation became so serious that security staff entered the scene and were ready to intervene, fearing that a fully-blown physical confrontation was about to break out between Mancini and the supporters.

Eventually the ex-Lazio boss chose to walk away from the incident.

This is the second report of unrest among the Inter camp, following Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s angry comments about Marco Materazzi, in which he blamed the defender for Inter’s defeat.

Materazzi was harshly sent off after half-an-hour for two yellow cards, forcing the Nerazzurri to play two-thirds of the game with 10 men.

Inter are a freaking madhouse. I keep saying it will be a matter of time before they implode
kurtsimonw
Obviously I wanted Liverpool to win, but I think it's only fair that this is said: Alot of people say Inter have the refs on their side in Serie A, well, in Europe it's a different story. Liverpool won every free-kick possible and even had a man advantage for no reason, neither was a yellow card, I'd argue that one of them wasn't even a foul, but it's clear the refs were against Inter from the start. How is that Mancini's fault?

If that was the case, then why Vieira did that handball and no penalty was given?

Oh it was obvious the ref was making amends desperately.

The first wasn't a yellow...but for me the second was. Matrix should have a little more brains, than to do shite like that when he's on a yellow.

Obviously no one's gonna look the other way in CL unlike in Serie A

They had many injuries last year and even earlier this year. And they had no problems in Serie A.

In Europe... against a top-team like Liverpool... it's different.
