I once heard Arsene said that Anelka was better than Henry.
*

He was, is and will be more talented than Henry. The other difference between the two is the confidence Henry had when playing at Arsenal. If Anelka stayed at Arsenal he'd be know what Cantona was for Man U. A king.

But he's not won anything. Even Ashley Young has put up numbers like Fabregas and I wouldn't consider him 'great', and I'm a Villa fan!

Besides, there's a lot of great players who never won anything big.
Baggio and Batistuta were both fantastic players yet they never won any of the BIG trophies, except for Baggio's Golden Ball.

QUOTE (Rossoneri7 @ May 1 2008, 08:01 PM)
Professional football players .. When they come to San Siro (and I have yet to here anyone say otherwise!), they leave it in awe. Because, when they were mere kids,  this is the stadium which they witnessed Milan battle in and reach a champions league final one after another. And the chance to play for such a team, its an achievement for them! It's the weight of this team that will always keep it amongst the heavy weights .... Arsenal, Chelsea, Leeds, Nottingham forest, etc these are just terminal clubs .. When you say Milan, Madrid, Bayern here you are talking about European powerhouses who have left their mark and even if they had fallen, will remain on top.

So, even if Milan end up in the UEFA cup, it's not a failure, but neither is it a success considering the weight of this club. It would just mean a setback, but the fact remains this is AC Milan let that be in 1997, 2007, or 2017 cool.gif

Well, I think 8 goals and 18 assists is a bit special for a 20-year old...

cr7 is 40 goals and -2342342 assists.

pato is 18, 8 goals in 15 matches

bojan has 8 goals

is fabregas good, fck yeahs! is he the best, that is questionable. Is he leading arsenal? yes sir!

^^CR, Pato and Bojan are attackers, Fabregas is a midfielder. In any case, numbers do not say the whole truth...

Bojan: 8 goals in 26 league games
Pato: 8 goals in 15 league games

Pato signed from a South American club for one of the biggest clubs on earth, with so much pressure on him to deliver amazing things from his very first game. Bojan comes from Barca's youth team and obviously has never had so much pressure on his shoulders. I see both as the best U20 players in the world [have not seem Aguero that much] but I honestly think Pato is better.

i agree with you there. But bojan's goal tally for barca thru the youth system is scary.

Being good for the primavera doesn't necessarily equate to being good for the senior team, however. One shouldn't put too much emphasis on primavera results.

thats a very ignorant statement imo because of the sole fact that hes scored near 1000 goals which is unheard of in 7 years in any competition; and furthermore he did at as a school kid not some experienced striker. Age 10-17, 1000 goals is very very impressive.

He is a very good player. As good as pato, the answer is no. But we will see next season as both players will get similar amount of playing time.

Normally I'd let this one slide. But I felt this was a very judgemental statement. Drop him off at Malpensa, and blindfold him. He might be a little late for kick off, but I bet he'd still find his seat in the stadium.

I think what you say is actually an ignorant statement! Scoring 30 goals a season in Italy doesn't mean you'll score 10 in la Liga, and vis versa, let alone the youth system where the physical opposition is not the same (especially in Spain), have noticed that the Spanish -19 or -21 national team is always amongst the top 3 in the world, but when it come to the physical approach they simply disappear!

If I had to speaking about Bojan, I'd say more than 100 goals a season is out of this world (even for a kid), and honestly I don't believe he scored that much!

Edit. Bojan played 1926 mns scoring 10 goals (league+CL+Cup)
Pato played 1342 mns scoring 8 goals (league+CL)

Ronaldo isn't even among the top 20 assisters in the Premier League...he has only made a total of 6 assists.

Compare that to Fabregas' 19 and Ashley Young's 17, and you'll see that he's really quite bad when it comes to making assists.

So... Terry is going to miss the final? Lucky United... dry.gif

He went to the hospital, it's a partially dislocated shoulder apparently, making him 50/50 for the game. But as much as I know if John Terry, the odds would need to be alot lower for him not to play, he'll be there in my opinion.

I don't care. I prefer Chelsea as a team so I won't mind them winning, and Ronaldo would probably cry. If Chelsea lose, then no London club has won the European Cup still, all that many and all those teams, and still nothing! biggrin.gif

Watching the preview show at the moment. During a training exercise Makelele went in two-footed on Ashley Cole, he looked pretty hurt, he did (barely) walk off, but why on earth would you make such a ridiculous challenge 24 hours before the biggest game in the cubs history!? Unsurprisingly Ashley is a doubt, Makelele shouldn't be picked in the 18-man squad in my opinion, that's just silly.

Me too. What a blow that would be to CR and the Fergie boys. I would give anything to see them loose after a crappy Anelka goal in 90+ time..

I want to see Chelsea winning with a Drogba handball in the 96th min with the ref giving 4 min injury-time.

what an Fing retard dry.gif

i've watched him play recently and he's just awful, lots of running around but does nothing, not even defensively and misses all his tackles.
Tennie
I thought you'd support MU because of Cristiano Ronaldo, Porty. Clearly I got that one wrong.

As for me, I don't much care who wins it. There's a tiny bit of sentiment for Giggs and Scholes who were part of that amazing MU team in the 90s, but...eh. Someone wake me up when it's over. smile.gif

i'll be watching it with a friend from chester who's a big united fan. seeing as me no like Man u it will be nice to see his reaction, especially losing to Chelsea.

Quote of the day, courtesy of BBC text commentary:

The legendary James Richardson is chatting away on the two big screens inside the stadium and, brilliantly, he just got a huge cheer from both sets of fans for this: "Who'd have thought in 1990 we'd be in a new Russia for the biggest club game in the world? Who'd have thought it'd be two English clubs? And who'd have thought Liverpool would still be waiting to win the league again? "

+ 2495039 to see Fake Ronaldo cry

Scholes is being a little b!tch

Edit: No he isnt, he actually was cut. He does deserve it for his poor tackling though

Edit 2: Cech is looking extremely visible in that kit

Edit 3: Yay, Lampards boots match his kit

Edit 4: Does Tevez always play as a holding midfielder/right midfielder

Edit 5: I have nothing better to do, so i am going to break the record for most edits in a post

Edit 6: lol Ronaldo is so afraid of Cole, he switched flanks

Edit 7: Damn Ronaldo scored...
kurtsimonw
The man that never shows up in big games.. Ronaldo, 1-0.
kurtsimonw
Superb header. 42nd goal of the season. World Player of the Year is all but over now in my opinion.
