What's the rule in the Coppa on who advances? If it's an equal number of goals, does the away goals rule come in? Is there extra time/penalties? Anyone know?
misha
It's away goals rule
Darunia
Yup, juve needs another goal

and they got it.. Del Piero PK

realmad.gif Bah.

Empoli have done so well today.

EDIT: Brave performance by Empoli. I think the result could've been different if they hadn't been reduced to 10 in the 70th or so (all subs had been used and then someone got hurt). It's the Zebras who advance though.

I'm usually with the minnows (and my heart was today too) but knowing that Giuve will face Inter in the next round I'm happy they went through. One can only hope that both teams will take these encounters seriously which might result to a couple points lost in the championship race...

Anyway, Empoli were surprisingly good. Our on loan players, Pozzi and Abate (Marzoratti was not playing) were quite good but none of them are truly special players. Pozzi is great in the air though.

Oh and Juventus will really miss Nedved if he retires at the end of the season. That bimbo might be one of the biggest divers in Europe but he is also among the 10 best players I've ever seen. He was again Giuve's best! [Wishes that Silvio's potential offer for Buffon will be accepted so that they can replace Nedved with a big player. And they also need to start looking for a Del Piero replacement!]

Apparently Parma have bought Cristiano Lucarelli for £4m.

Atalanta president Ruggieri has been taken to the hospital. He's in grave condition and reports indicate he's had a stroke. sad.gif

Udinese beat Palermo today in the Coppa game to proceed.

Floro Flores got the only goal of the game in the 92nd minute.

Giovinco. He's loaned to some other italian team at the moment but they say he's Del Piero heir. One of the best youngsters in Italy, if not the best (italian).

Yes I know of him. I've seen him play for the U20 but his play did not look similar to Del Piero's... unsure.gif

It's like he's a ripple effect experiment on photoshop that's gone horribly wrong.

As for Adri, I think playing at the right team he will be back to his best. I always had a feeling that if he came to Milan he would follow the path Seedorf and Pirlo took. But I can't see us convincing Inter to sell him to us, no matter how terrible he is playing for them

Mancio: Inter want Ronaldinho!
Saturday 19 January, 2008

Roberto Mancini has stunned the media by admitting Inter are interested in Ronaldinho. “Nobody believed me…”

For over two years now the Brazilian has been a declared target for their rivals Milan, who now seem to have dropped their interest in the Barcelona star.

However, a switch to San Siro is still possible for the former World Player of the Year, but in the Nerazzurri colours.

“Nobody believed me when I talked about Ronaldinho,” grinned Mancio during today’s Press Conference.

“I don’t think it would be a problem to have him settle in to the squad. Ronaldinho is a great player and, aside from his behaviour, the important thing is that a champion steps on to the field and makes the difference. He almost always does that.”

Milan President Silvio Berlusconi had announced he was dropping his bid to sign Ronaldinho last week, stating that the Selecao hero could “cause problems” in the locker room.

This left Chelsea as the only contenders for his signature, but Inter appear to be in the running as well now and President Massimo Moratti has never been shy about splashing the cash on his players.

Moratti has pledged to sign a big star for their Centenary celebrations and Ronaldinho could well fit the bill.

Meanwhile, Nuno Maniche receives his debut against Parma on Sunday evening after the international transfer from Atletico Madrid came through.

“There is the possibility he could start. He is in good shape and has no particular physical problems.”

The midfield is also boosted by the return of Patrick Vieira, who had been out of action since October 23 with a series of setbacks.

“He is doing pretty well and wants to be on the bench. We will start that way and see whether it is opportune to introduce him during the game or not.”

This will be a special occasion for Mancini, who marks his 200th official match on the Inter bench.

“It’s already a miracle!” he joked of the club’s tendency to rattle through tacticians over the years.

“It is pleasing and I hope to add many more to that tally.”

Oh please get him!! And call Adriano back!!! What a party that will be...

And yes, I hope you remain at Inter too, Mancio!! smile.gif

Serie A side Genoa have signed Brazilian striker Wilson and full-back Anthony Vanden Borre.

I don't know anything about the Brazilian but Vanden Borre is GOOD!!! Great signing for Genoa!! huh.gif smile.gif
kurtsimonw
That would be fantastic if he signed for Inter. No doubt he'd play every game, meaning they'd be playing with 10 men week in, week out. I like the sound of that.

Wow, nice signing for Genoa there. I always thought vanden Borre was going to end up with a real big team (no disrespect to Genoa).

Cruz would have to go then. But it's possible.

Inter now are deperately trying to match and better Milan in anything we do.

We get Pato...they're desperate to get the 'new Pato' rolleyes.gif

We have Kaka. They want something comparable.

But it's really quite possible. Nike will make it happen. Just like adidas made Beckham to LA happen.

Why would Ronaldinho move to a club where he'd be overshadowed - specially by a Nike star too - week in week out?

^^Why would he move to Milan? I certainly don't think he would overshadow Kaka!

They have that in Ibra. But imagine the clash of the egos: Ibra vs R20!! Two b!tches thrown in together and "all of a sudden" Inter become an arena!! smile.gif

I guess now, they want something to overshadow us. Coz pound for pound...our complete(fully fit) first eleven is stronger and still has more stars than theirs.

Oh the pairing of R10 and Zlatan would be devastating !!!

I doubt there is a defense in the world which can withstand them !

I hope it doesn't happen !

p.s. Didn't Moratti remark about us getting R10 sometime ago ? Didn't he say something negative ?! Can't remember though ..
