Any reason for the largely sized text in red?

I doubt it's anything that surprising to be honest.

Just wanted to highlight the issue which I have been harping on for the last two years. Pirlo has no love for Milan. At his age we shouldn't have seen such a DRASTIC drop in form bus from 2008 onwards he was borderline useless except for a brilliant pass here and there.

His absolutely nonchalant attitude to my beloved Rossoneri is a source of aggravation for me as is the continuous overrating of his role in our success. I feel rather vindicated to hear this from him because he's been painted with nothing short of the most saintly colours by many and called such things as a "model professional" and been accused of "giving his all for our team"

A BRIEF analysis of Pirlo's game and his consistent refusal to TRY to help, especially in situations where he loses the ball or dished the irresponsible backpasses would further vindicate my opinion. So people can still insult, say "cool story bro" and accuse me of trolling but no one can dispute his own words or the reason he left us any longer

Like I said earlier you can toss whatever you want at me...even ban me as at R&B for my unpopular opinion...but no one can deny that Pirlo isn't the Milan legend or one of those that can claim he gave his all. I havent' disrespected you or anyone but this guy NEVER deserved to be at Milan. A player with his talents and abilities should not have ever been allowed to give back so little to our illustrious club

i'm not surprised that you don't hear what I'm saying. Most Pirlo fans won't care anyway. I just feel a bit vindicated now that he himself confirmed it. If he truly loved us or was motivated he'd have taken the one year contract as Dorf did and FIGHT for his place. But Pirlo thinks himself above that just as he thinks he is above tracking back when he lost the ball or letting practically any marker just walk past.

I am also upset by the hypocrisy of some fans who claimed to have hated Ronaldinho for these same reasons but then gave Pirlo a free pass. Again it's just imho and as an admin it's your choice and authority to do with me as you see fit. The internet is, after all not as free as it seems smile.gif

A big lol at you. Never given his all to Milan? You completely lost me there and I stopped reading at that point.

You'll only be sanctioned if you instigate any more unecassary fights as you've done in the past regarding Pirlo. We encourage different oppinions and discussions but not blatant flaming, which is what you're doing with this Pirlo thing.

Rather disingenuous to mis-quote me. I certainly didn't say he never gave his all for Milan in that post. But then again you are looking for the slightest of flaws to discredit me so it's understandable.

Certainly he must have at some point during 2002-2007 to play as well as he did. I am merely expressing disgust at his languid approach to the game which worsened as his physical attributes declined with age. I can't see how fight can be insitigated over a direct quote either. But people will always believe what they want no matter how visible the truth in front of them is

I'm not instigating anything. I stated my opinion and i referenced it with a direct quote. What happens next is your choice

You're disgusted due to his personal style of football? What excuse is that?

Also, we've had many disagreements in regards to Pirlo, mainly with chu, yet never was he ever told to watch what he's doing or saying, simply because he doesn't cross the line and keeps it to only the football side of it and doesn't presonally provoke anyone either.

If the mods ban everyone they disagree with then the forum would be deserted, and no one ever told you that you'd get banned for not thinking Pirlo was worth it anymore. I don't know what they do at the R&B forum but that is certainly not what is done here. So please don't try to turn this into a mod vs dru thing

If I come across overly strongly (I'm sure I have) I apologize. but I'm seriously annoyed at all the completely undeserved adulation he receives by us and others who probably don't watch him as often.

In short:
  1. slower than a three legged turtle on glass
  2. no free kicks scored in over two years (some maestro)
  3. 2008 fiasco...worst performance ever in vs Arsenal....not even Brocchi or Helveg looked as awful
  4. Admits that he lacked motivation to fight for our shirt and help usher in our new era
  5. loses the ball regularly without tracking back
  6. can't mark or tackle. If it weren't for his timely interceptions
  7. Despite saying his first choice was to stay with us lacked the (insert quality) to stay and decided to become a juBe Ladri since FEBRUARY. i.e. he LIED (if it's wrong for Kaka and $heva and Leo's a traitor then he has to get his share of flack)

Il' Maestro was motm for Jube's opener....he must be so happy there

Wonder if all the "Milanistas who wished him well since he's given his all to Milan and isn't the player he was" would mind if he plays like this vs us and JuBe kick our ***...They'd probably be all "forza Maestro-ing" if he pops in a free-kick after 3 years of utter and complete $h!t with us

“In February. The injury then reinforced my decision: I had never had a problem before and suddenly I had one ailment after another. I took it as a sign of destiny.”

It was expected that you would go overseas but instead chose an old enemy of Milan. Too frightening to experience abroad?

“No, I was all ready two years ago to move to Chelsea and I would have gone without a problem with my whole family. Berlusconi stopped me.”

Did he try again this time?

“He phoned but the situation was different, I could decide for myself because I was at the end of the contract. He understood and wished me good luck.”

You were one of his biggest backers last seasons and always said you'd prefer to keep either of them ahead of Pirlo, it doesn't really matter which one since both are terrible these days...

His recent performance for Milan? He was injured for the majority of last season, and had an average season under Leo, yes. But aside from that, Pirlo always gave his all to Milan and was usually one of the players on the team who clocked the most minutes on the pitch, so I don't get what you're implying here. So suddenly you want to tell me Pirlo didn't give 100% when he played for Milan? Give me a break

Well whatever the prevailing opinion (even bias) may be, the fact remains that Pirlo hasn't been the same guy we knew and loved after the 2007-08 season. sleep.gif It was his pathetic little injury that carried on and on, and when he came back, the guy became a fairy. The simplest of touches, or not even touches, made him fell down.

Maybe it was the fear of another injury in the back of his head that made him play safe. Maybe he felt pain every now and then. Or just plain got lazy. The guy had won pretty much everything - bar the Euros. If anything a maestro like him should have been our go-to free-kick taker and heck, he should have slotted in every other kick, he was that good with his accuracy and dead ball finishing. mellow.gif Leonardo's was an indifferent season for him, same with Allegri, and the same can be said of Carlo's last year here.

Remember the scorcher against Real Madrid - in Madrid - that stunned the stadium?! wink.gif That's the guy he could have been. He had everything going for him in the talent department. Whatever that was troubling him was in the head. Would I have liked him to stay? Yes. Am I sad that he went? Probably not.

Lol, yeah, he has won some things with us, but it's been like 5 years we won something with his (obvious) help. But he simply was not good enough for us! He has been underpreforming for like 5 years for us, Seedorf benched him, and yet he wants to earn like he is our 2nd best player for 3 more seasons, while being over 30 and showing more often bad form than good form for us? Oh, that he now plays well for Juve is great him, I guess there's the difference with being motivated or not being motivated, which means you WILL give your all when you are, and when you're not you WON'T! You have players of that calibre...you need to be able to make the team cover up for their weaknesses and amplify their strengths.

It seems the way you hear our players speak of him..everyone in the team except Allegri knew what a big loss his departure was.

But no...Allegri don't need skill...all we need is hustle. Coz if we run around hard and huff and puff we shall win.

Well..like the story of the 3pigs and the wolf..not all houses are made of matches or straw. All the huff and puff will not get you through.

@d'Arc: I agree with you on Pirlo's loss... but Seedorf is for me as good as Pirlo. They're different players though. And Seedorf's failure is to do with the fact that Allegri wants to use a Rolls Royce as a towtruck. dry.gif

Pirlo at this point is the better player. Pirlo is younger and is being used properly by his new team. I guess when Pirlo talked about wanting a new challenge he just wanted somewhere were he's appreciated...

As for Seedorf, he's just been run into the ground by Allegri. Just ridiculous how he expect Seedorf, Nesta and VB to play every few days.

I think it's time Seedorf is moved away from that midfield spot. Either play him in the AM position or not at all. Boateng as well is being wasted in a position he has no business playing in.

I just find it funny how some considered Pirlo being left to go to Juve a good thing. So ridiculous, I'll just go read through the posts that were made at the beginning of summer when we were debating which contracts should/should not be renewed and laugh (cry) at some of the comments made in regard to Pirlo vs (Ambro & Rino)

To be fair, Cesare Maldini commented on the Pirlo saga ... He stated that Pirlo was offered a reduced contract value and a tenor of one year ... Pirlo on the other hand demanded more and a 3 year contract. He was also a free agent and Juve presented him with a more lucrative offer than Milan were prepared to offer (key being he wanted a 3 yr contract).

This is becoming worse than the Villa forum I use. Pirlo wants a new challenge, so that's Allegri's fault. Milan weren't willing to match the contract Juve offered, so that's his fault too?

Man...Allegri's fault is that he didn't say "Stop! Pirlo is a priority". He just let that happened. He simply removed Pirlo because he didn't know what to do with him. He's more comfortable with guys like Rino, Nocerino or Bommel. You can see it from his comments also - even when we were searching for our mr. X he used to mention Asamoah or Lass Diarra. And that was before Flamini's injury. The problem is, he didn't realize what he's loosing with Pirlo. It's that simple.

It's ridiculous, really. Allegri does the contrary of how things should be run. I completely agree that Seedorf should be moved as trequartista. If anyone remembers, I firmly said so after the Plzen game. And yes, Boateng needs to be relieved from his attacking duties and play in a role more suited to his abilities.

If Allegri has any brains left, then from the next game onwards, this is how we should be playing:

Amelia
Abate - Nesta - T. Silva - Taiwo
Boateng - Van Bommel - Aquilani
Seedorf
Pato - Ibrahimovic

I think Abbiati has filled the cup. Not only he's been quite disappointing in his saves, but now he's starting to make childish errors. I closed an eye after his howler against Udinese, but what he did last night was simply horrific. Even Dida in his worst moments couldn't match such an amateurish mistake. Give Amelia a chance and see how he fares.

Taiwo should be given priority on the left. He's by far our best leftback. He only needs trust and match fitness. Nesta and Mexes should alter with each other.

Van Bommel should be our only DM. Boateng must be deployed in his natural box-to-box position, where he can give a hand in both defending and attacking. Seedorf must be our trequartista, but he must be rotated. Play Robinho or El Shaarawy every now and then to give him a break.

Only with that system and line-up we can play a more dynamic and offensive football.

So very true. dry.gif I don't know why, but Abbiati seems to perform much better when he has someone on his tail. Another goalie vying for his place. That's when his performance level is acceptable, even though he still has a tendency to howl a little - whether a bad pass, or stupid little kick straight to the opposing attacker, and now howlers.

I totally agree, Amelia deserves an extended run, if only to raffle Abbiati's feathers a little bit.

Dida vs. Leeds - remember the first one?

You are right about Abbiati. When he becomes insecure, he tends to drop balls easily. The only thing I'm not confident with is Amelia - I don't think he's first team material; he could easily turn into the next Kalac.
