Let me rephrase what Goal.com said:

When Seedorf is in form, he is the most complete midfielder in the world. However, when he is not in form, he is only as good as a fat piece of crap on the pitch...

Seedorf is a great player, but on most of the times it's him that seems too lazy to get off his @ss rather then anything that has to do with form

E' NATO DENZEL SEEDORF
25/05/2007

[This morning in Milan Denzel Seedorf was born, weighing in at 3.2 kilos and 49 centimeters in length. Denzel is a handsome baby and is healthy. To his mother Luviana and naturally to Clarence Seedorf go the congratulations of all the rossoneri family.]

Might explain why he wasn't at his very best on Wednesday. With his wife ready to give birth....

3.2 kilos? It's probably the baby on that @ss... biggrin.gif

Congratulations Clarence Seedorf!!! smile.gif

Nice 1 Clarence - Double congrats! king.gif I didn't even know he had a girlfriend let alone got someone pregnant ohmy.gif Are they married too? unsure.gif I saw the official communication on the site & it said "la Signora Luviana" dunno if that just means she's a woman as opposed to a girl (Signorina) or the wife of someone (Mrs.) Has he got someone else's wife up the duff? laugh.gif Does he need to be neutered like a dog instead of a turtle? tongue.gif

Hee. I'm pretty sure they're married. He dedicated a goal in one of the recent CL games to 'his wife, who is pregnant'.

Oh ok, thanks I missed that wink.gif Sorry Clarence! sad.gif
Rossoneri7
Seedorf was very vital for us in the CL. He was the one who controlled the possession in midfield. Sure he could be slow, but he could out dribble anyone, and yes even against the fastest dribblers around, i.e. CR wink.gif ... But as dst said on another post, he lights up like this on the BIG stage, against Cagliari or Reggina, he is a big disappointment. But that is just his class. He is a 4 time CL winner, you can bring him on at anytime and u'll be sure to know that he can make a difference on his own.

Without Seedorf, Milan would have never made it to the CL final !! Had it been Sjnider (spell), I doubt we would have passed Celtic rolleyes.gif

He, as all the others, is a vital focal point in our team along with a twist of experience. But he has something extra, he is a rock in our midfield that the team can hide the ball under for time to free up Kaka or start a potential attack. With experience, he has also become very good at coming back to lend a hand.

Yea definately, and in the league even if as you say (and a lot of others have said which I agree with) he hasn't always been/isn't always consistent. From what I remember against Parma (can you count them as a big club anymore? unsure.gif )away (2nd game of the season) he had a great game, not just the awesome goal from a free-kick right in the top-right hand corner! Didn't he also play well/score against Torino? unsure.gif I could be wrong! I'm not sure it's his motivation against the smaller teams that's the problem, but he's a player who shows his worth when Milan need it the most! If they really need him against a smaller team I think he can show up then too! wink.gif Whether he's consistent or not, also in the league he's a regular starter - so Carlo must have a reason for playing him so much. One of those reasons is he's an amazing player who can come up with a moment of brilliance even if he's not on his game. He's a complete player who came up from the legendary Ajax youth team to play total football - he has so many strings to his bow, so to speak.

I think it's Sneijder wink.gif

Indeed! Apart from Paolo (& now that Billy's retired) I think Seedorf's the most experienced member of our team! wink.gif

Sorry if I've said a lot of the same things as you R7, but it just goes to show we're of a like mind here cool.gif It makes a change for me to be of a like mind with someone, as most of the time I think differently to most people here tongue.gif Not that any of us are wrong necessarily biggrin.gif

AC Milan midfielder takes scouting trip of America

MONTCLAIR, New Jersey (AP) -Less than a month after winning the European Champions League title with AC Milan, Clarence Seedorf is back at work.

But instead of prowling the midfield for his Serie A club, the 31-year-old Dutchman is gathering information about soccer's world game.

Having already toured the Middle East and Djibouti in the horn of Africa, Seedorf is getting a firsthand account of Major League Soccer in the United States, educating himself about the landscape for his sports and entertainment management company: ON International.

"I'm here to meet the people, talk a little about the reality of football in the States, and the club, myself. Get to know a little more about the situation,'' Seedorf said Thursday while watching a New York Red Bulls training session at their Montclair State University training center. "Watching games from Europe is one thing, but being here and really understanding is another way of understanding.''

Seedorf set up ON International within the past year under the directorship of Geoffrey Schuhkraft, an Australian with a lifetime of experience managing entertainers and athletes such as swimmer Grant Hackett and cricketer Matthew Hayden. So far it has only one client: Seedorf.

Unlike David Beckham, Cuauhtemoc Blanco or Juan Pablo Angel, Seedorf doesn't see himself playing in MLS. He's committed to AC Milan for four more years, by which time he'll be 35.

But getting involved in the United States in some other capacity is a possibility.

"When I see the World Cup I see there is a lot of potential out there,'' Seedorf said. "I think it's only a matter of time before the U.S. can compete at the highest level. But something for sure needs to change.

"It's been about 10 years that we've heard this and it must improve. I think they want it,'' he said. "But I'm not here to judge. I'm here to listen and get a better picture.''

Seedorf already has set up a charitable foundation, Champions for Children, and is promoting that on his travels as well.

With former Ajax teammate Dave van den Bergh now making his living with the Red Bulls, Seedorf was able to find a welcome host club in New York.

His whirlwind trip to the U.S. will include meetings with MLS officials, then out to Los Angeles, back to Milan, the Netherlands, the Czech Republic and finally to his native Suriname, the former Dutch colony in South America.

"A lot of people talk about starting a foundation, but never do it,'' Schuhkraft said. "(Seedorf) genuinely wants to make a change. The fact that he wants to come here and understand American football, and check the support it has is admirable.''

Milan star Clarence Seedorf is unhappy that he is being forced to change position due to the arrival of Alexandre Pato.

Seedorf’s favourite position is in the trequartista role, however now that Pato is eligible to play, the Dutch master has had to go into a deeper midfield role.

This didn’t seem to have much of an impact on Seedorf yesterday as the 31-year-old was probably the man-of-the-match in the 5-2 thrashing on Napoli at San Siro.

"I knew that things would go well," Seedorf, who along with Pato and Ronaldo (2), scored in the game, told La Gazzetta dello Sport.

"However I cannot deny that going back to being a midfielder for me is a sacrifice."

Carlo Ancelotti was full of praise for Seedorf after the game, and he admitted himself that the ex-Ajax star was indeed making a sacrifice for the team.

“I would always like to see Seedorf play with this spirit and he was probably Man of the Match for me," Carletto stated.

“Seedorf feels he is a Trequartista and played a crucial role in winning the Champions League last year. He is not the only one who must make a sacrifice for the team, but everyone has to work together for the squad.”
Tennie
Funny that he says that (but his preference for playing in the trequartista role is well known and he always complains when he isn't in that position). Yesterday's was probably the best game he's played for us this season. He was very very good.

Yes, though last season he started to play well after moving to the trequartista role in the second part of the season.

Seedorf can play good in any midfield position, but the problem with him is his motivation...

Seedorf, The Dutch Master Of Europe

The only player to have won the UEFA Champions League with three different clubs and the first European footballer to have claimed the former Intercontinental Cup with two different sides, Clarence Seedorf, is now on the verge of breaking yet another international record.

Should the 31-year-old take the field for Milan against Arsenal on Wednesday in their Champions League second-round first-leg, he will become the Dutch player with most appearances in UEFA club competitions, making it an astonishing 130.

The former Ajax, Sampdoria, Real Madrid and Internazionale midfielder is currently sharing top-spot in the respective list with Frankie de Boer, a now retired former Ajax team-mate.

De Boer, who also played alongside Seedorf for the Dutch national side for a decade, featured 71 times for the Amsterdam giants, 50 for Barcelona and eight more for Galatasaray.

Seedorf now has the chance of making it 71 European outings for the reigning Champions League holders, having also played 16 times for Ajax, 26 for Real Madrid and 17 for Inter.

Only himself to beat

According to the Dutch top-ten list published by Algemeen Dagblad, Seedorf’s imminent record cannot be threatened in the foreseeable future.

Phillip Cocu (121), Michael Reiziger (96), Marc Overmars (95) and Dennis Bergkamp (94) have all withdrawn from the game, while Edgar Davids (97), Ed van der Sar (96), Patrick Kluivert (94) and Gio van Bronckhorst (90), who are still active, are all far behind.

Seedorf will celebrate his 32nd birthday on April Fools’ Day and perhaps in the years to come he will have the chance to pursue top-spot in the all-time UEFA competitions’ list.

His Rossoneri team-mate Paolo Maldini, currently on 164 appearances, may still be going strong, but he’s already 39, while Luís Figo (137) of arch-rivals Internazionale is 35 and Oliver Kahn (136) of Bayern is 38 and will hang up his gloves at the end of the season.

Seedorf, a Suriname native, has won 19 major trophies in club football throughout his career and was named the best midfielder of the UEFA Champions League last season

Seedorf: I want to end my career in Milan!

With speculation building up on Valencia's interest in Milan's midfield magician Clarence Seedorf, whom has squashed all rumors by committing himself to the club till retirement.

Seedorf said: "Valencia ?! My contract with Milan ends in 2011, and I want to end my professional career with Milan."

Seedorf also added on Totti's recent incident with the ref, which has shaken Italian football, to some extent: "A good referee is one who can react intelligently and swiftly, without feeling the pressure of the moment. Most of the referees on the pitch feel under threat, which causes them to not comprehend what the players say to them when explaining a certain incident, for example Nesta wanted to discuss the mistake with the referee he got a suspended for two matches. While in other games, such an approach to the referee would not be punished at all."

The Dutch man continued to criticize the referee: "Against the Bianconeri, the linesman asked the referee to book a certain player on more than one occasion for several tough tackles against me, but the referee did even warn him of his offense. Why?! As the linesman is there to help the referee in situations where the referee might not be 100% sure on a decision also they are supposed to be partners and trust in each other's judgments. If that is not the case, then what good are the linesman?! Just to prove an offside exists" Snapped the Dutchman.

Galliani: Seedorf will keep his number

The first ever, negativity, to come out of the Milan dressing room is Clarence's disapproval at giving up his number 10 shirt to Ronaldinho.

Galliani, at his usual best, tries to calm to tensions: "Clarence has the right to keep his shirt, the number 10 shirt will remain on his shoulders. If a player comes and asks for the number 10, then too bad, he will just need to look for another number that is available to him. Whether Ronaldinho comes or not, Milan has it's own stars."
