Totally not interesting.

Care to explain?
Jack Sparrow
I mean..I think it's consistent. He's had a hand in around 12-15 goals every season.

I think the lesser goals and the larger assists are after he's dropped deeper. He no longer attacks the box like he used to under Carlo. But that's probably since he has to guard against the counter.
X-Offender
Seedorf: "I don't like the bench. I know we have to rotate everyone, but people must know that I want to always play. I love playing and a further bench it's too much for me".

And Ibra is supposed to be an arrogant prick? This guy is over the top. Did he forget that he's 35? Jeez... dry.gif rolleyes.gif
kurtsimonw
Yeah he shouldn't be saying that.

If the senators can't overcome their ego then I'd prefer they move on as soon as possible.
Fillipo Simone
On the other hand, I admire his will. People call him lazy, yet this proves he still has the willpower and motivation.

I think, and pardon me for the word, it's stupid to compare Ibra and Seedorf. Yes, his words sound odd for a 35 year old midfielder - on that we agree. But in terms of arrogance...just think of Ibra's record?
kurtsimonw
Only just realised he's 9th all-time for Milan appearances. For some reason I didn't realise he was quite that high.

My biggest fear is Gattuso. If Allegri prefers him over Nocerino when he gets back, I truly wouldn't know what to think.
kurtsimonw
Gattuso - Ambro - Seedorf as the midfield 3.

Seedorf is trying to cause some problems,or put pressure on Allegri? We all know that Allegri now is preferring Aquilani, and Nocerino over Seedorf so what's the purpose of his statement?Fillipo if he has will, then he may show it on the field, not trying to buy his way in by some words.

Who wants to bet that Aqui will be dropped for Seedorf tomorrow??

Tbh I don't think of his words as such a big fuss. Surely he does not want problems. Pressure on Allegri? Anyone can do that. I'll have to see the original statement to make a final assessment of his intentions.

How doesn't it cause big problems?Seedorf clearly doesn't want to be benched and won't accept it.That's a big problem for me for the effect he may have on other players too,he's a legend after all.Read the original statement and share your insight with me ;p

No, just trying to find a broader context. But anyway, I don't think this will cause any big disturbances.

I think tonight was another example of how our old timers can't really cut it anymore. People like Zambrotta, Gattuso, Ambrosini, Seedorf and Inzaghi are washed up and have nothing more to give. I know we've been saying this for the last 2-3 years, but this season HAS to be their last one. We've kept them far longer than any other club would had, and this is called recognition, for all the glories they've given us over the years. I have nothing against them, but the club must realize it's futile to keep them around knowing they'll be getting a lot of minutes throughout the season. Enough is enough!

A timeless quote, X-Off. sad.gif We've been saying this since after the 2007 CL win, and when you think about it, it's been 5 whole years after it. Say what you may, they have to hang their boots one way or another, this is as late as late can be. None, I say, none of the seniors can give what they used to give a couple of years back.

Only one worth keeping, just for good time's sake is perhaps Nesta for another year, and that's that.

Nesta is a must along with VB.

All the others have to be let go
acid911
Exactly. smile.gif Though personally I am just not 100% sure both Nesta and VB will stay. The signs are there, but you never know with our management. It'll be an absolute miracle if both stay and all other are let go. Save for Abbiati that is, he is a goalie and must stay.

Did you here about Braida having dinner with Ederson's (Lyon) agent? He's a free agent, and if he does come in than Seedorf is 100% out. Monto, Aqui and Ederson all for practically one position.
Fillipo Simone
Yeah, one above average, two shite players. Great.

Yeah, one above average, two shite players. Great.

Sh!t players? Monto is just not showing his true talent at Fiorentina. Aquilani has proven to be more than above average this season, while I class Monto in the same bracket, Aqui has just been in better teams throughout his career thus could express himself a lot better.

Ederson is a very talented player who would provide cover at AM as well.

I don't understand this reluctance to move on, Seedorf is not good enough anymore, and neither is he even reliable as a backup. We just cannot keep renewing with these guys any longer
X-Offender
Seedorf is beyond shite, a mockery to the player he once used to be.
Fillipo Simone
Seedorf has nothing to do with it. When was the last time you guys watched Ederson?
Jack Sparrow
I agree with Filippo in that there is no point in filling a position where we need a top class player with an average person.

I don't rate Montolivo or Aquilani much from a consistency/fitness perspective. Montolivo was supposed to take Pirlo's position in the NT...and f@ck if that's happened.

Once again we would be making an acquisition for depth when what we need is quality.

If Montolivo comes in...we have Montolivo, Aquilani, Urby, Nocerino for 2 positions (assuming that DM and CAM are reserved by other players). On paper this is fine...but here's the deal...

Our midfield options: Robinho, Boateng, Montolivo,Aquilani, Nocerino, Urby
Bayern: Schweinsteiger, Gustavo, Kroos, Tymoschuk, Robben, Ribery
Madrid: Diarra, Khedira, Ozil, Ronaldo, Kaka etc.
Barca: .... sleep.gif

Notice the huge gulf in quality. We could buy all these players and still not be close to cream of Europe.

Should we get Montolivo? From an economic perspective it makes great sense. From a quality perspective-No. It's just applying a coat of paint, when what we need is a new building.

He'll be a good signing because he'll spend half the season out and so will Aquilani.. hopefully not the same half.

+1. sleep.gif I've always envisioned him as a backup, just like Aquilani. wink.gif Signing Motny for a good price, and an economical contract does not mean we should not go for quality. Sadly it does. But it shouldn't.
X-Offender
I think we should return our attention on Eriksen, or anyone of quality that can play as AM. Not to mention a backup CB, leftback, a DM and a striker. My picks would be Ogbonna, Armero, Veloso and Tevez.

Abbiati
Abate - Mexes - T. Silva - Armero
Boateng - Veloso - Nocerino
Eriksen
Tevez - Ibrahimovic

Fillipo Simone
I'd say yes, yes, no and no. Ogbonna could turn out a good player, I'm willing to invest in such a prospect. With Armero I'm still unsure; he could turn out defensively unstable like Taiwo but it's also a risk I think we should take. Veloso is nothing special, I think we can get a better DM somewhere. Eriksen yes, but I don't see it happen. Tevez in my eyes would be just a waist of money. If we start next season with a shaped-up medical staff and find out what was the core of this injury plague, we would have Cassano, Robinho and El Shaarawy in our rosters for the SS position. Even though I'm not a fan of Robinho, Tevez at this point would only present a luxury. I'd rather invest the money in a fullback and a creative player, a true AM.

Well, to each his own. Armero has already proved his worth in Serie A and usually plays well against big sides. Veloso IMO is a good DM a la Xabi Alonso that's being wasted at Genoa. And you already know my thoughts about Tevez.

We may never know until the last game ends. unsure.gif It'll be beyond pathetic if he does. A last, irrelevant league match is no time to hold a grudge against someone, particularly someone who won't be part of the club next season.

I don't see how if we're serious about decreasing the wage bill we can then go and get Tevez. The guy is on around £200k a week at the moment, in Italy he'd want even more because of the extra tax. You're talking e20m a year between the 2 forwards.

Small minded myopic coach doing somthing that pathetic (presumably to make a statement of sorts) sounds just about right cool.gif

Where Al came from the concept of "club legends" never really existed nor were there "champions". There was only in form and out of form.

I want to raise a potentially contentious issue here. The MAIN reason Seedorf got as much hate as he did was because he's black. This doesn't mean ALL of his detractors were/are necessarily racist but as a black person myself it seems that non-whites are under far more scrutiny in Europe. I have many examples (or what I think are suitable examples anyway).

To me, comparing Seedorf to Pirlo yields the ugly truth. Both are essentially the same player, little variations here and there but they are both skillful attacking central midfielders. Theoretically Seedorf is more a CAM and Pirlo's more of a CM. Yet I think BOTH tended to be rather languid and at times borederline nonchalant, but it was only Seedorf that got the boos.....even up till today where Pirlo has gloryhunted off to a hated rival there are many that would continue to hold him in highest esteem and fiercely defend him....while in the same breath knocking the crap out of Pirlo

In my humble opinion both had seriously disquieting motivation issued but I saw Seedorf putting out more. As an attacking midfielder he worked harder in the tackle and did meaningful tracking back....not the standard jog-cruise that Pirlo did to rack up the mileage. Goals, assists, even freekicks which Pirlo was accused of being some sort of maestro at - Seedorf contributed more meaningfully....especially in the times of our pomp (he was awarded best mid in '07).

Seedorf - the only living footballer to win the CL/EC with 3 different clubs I believe. Possibly the only one ever? Plus he won it 4 times.

He's a totally under rated player - truly one of the most glittering careers and while few would ever rank him as one of the greatest ever, in many ways he is.

He leaves with my best wishes - and he gives us a lot of memories.
TriniKing_CE
It's undeniable that Seedorf was a truely gifted player, anyone that says otherwise is a fool!

Watching him on the pitch for us in his earlier years was wonderful, and even in the later stages he was great.

He gave us something to talk about, and despite the love hate relationship so many of us had for him...

He is a god damn legend and he will remain that way!

A maestro in his own right... king.gif devilsmiley.gif devilsmiley.gif king.gif

Seedorf is a legend, one of the best players of the last decade (2000-2010). That said, his last 2-3 years here have been a nightmare, at least for me. I just couldn't stand the guy any longer. All the best luck to him.

My feelings exactly. smile.gif Up until 2007 there was no one better when it came to sheer classy displays on the football pitch. Even though Seedorf was a tad sluggish then, and kept the ball tied up to his feet more than he needed it to be, but the magic always came through. Unmatched, unrestrained, purest of magic.

He delayed it by 2-3 years (in anticipation of becoming the only player to hold 5 CL titles), but I have enough beautiful memories of Seedorf and his creative class that I don't need to think beyond 2007. A redoubtable legend of the game!
Jack Sparrow
His agent said he will decide in fifteen days what his future is. He has a home in Brazil and botafago are interested in his services.

But his wage and his other Italian interests are the problem.

In any case he stated that he shall not play for another Italian club.
