Seedorf is a genius and a big match player imo. He's intelligent, has an immense shot and a great passer of the ball.
His problems are the fact that he only shows up for the games that he wants to show up for, other then that if he decides he doesn't give a **** about the game he's going to walk around all game long and do nothing other then spray around some bad passes.
True that..hopefully this season it will be different

No chance,...Carletto loves the double DM team even more then he does Seedorf. Naah,..
But if he puts Seedorf deeper down in midfield, maybe Clarence could do better then. I don't know, I won't judge him based just on the Bologna match. He was bad, but not that bad...I've seen far worse, even from him.

I've always thought he was better when he played there rather then in the attacking mid role. The only really good games I recall Seedorf having in this position were against Man U and Bayern.
As I've always said, against these smaller teams that like to defend I would like to see Seedorf in the midfield 3, but against teams like Inter Seedorf should be dropped for a second defensive mid

He was remarkassable against inter in the last derby.

In fact, he along with Kaka was the only reason we won that match 2-1.

There's no argument from my side, that Seedorf needs to be in the middle 3. Esp, since we no longer have the old pacy second striker which was Sheva. Pato's good, but has some way to go, before he can fit in that same role. In fact, I'd rather Pato didn't play the Sheva position, but made a brand new niche for himself. Like how Kaka did. He was brought into backup Rui, but his style of play is totally different and we have managed to integrate it.
Anyway back to my point, the fact is there was a difference with Seedorf in the middle 3, since that was when we had Nesta-Maldini in top form as our CB pairing. We also had Nesta-Kaladze, and Kaladze was solid. With our defence so shaky, playing just one destroyer player is a risk, esp against the big teams.

Agreed on that, I don't think we should risk that against any of the big teams, but in games against the smaller teams it would be better having Seedorf rather then an extra defensive mid, we saw it yesterday were we still conceed despite playing 2. Our main problem is Kaladze, not the ammount of defensive mids we play imo

Maldini just can't cover for Kaladze any more, he needs to be focused the entire game because if he's caught out position he doesn't have the speed anymore to track back and make the challenge, if this was 5 years ago then Maldini could cover Kaladze with no problem but not anymore.
In order for Kaladze to even look half decent he needs to have Nesta next to him constantly holding his hand.
And if Carlo does keep starting Kaladze once all of the CBs are fit I'll personally go over to milanello and shoot him

Clarence Seedorf has hailed Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti and says that the pair have a special rapport.
Seedorf has been receiving widespread praise around the peninsula this week after his brilliant individual performance against Inter in the derby victory on Sunday night.
During that game the Dutchman was played in a deep-lying playmaker role, a tactical move for which Ancelotti has been complimented for. Seedorf has now explained why he admires his coach.
"Because we have experienced many successes over many years,” Seedorf told the Gazzetta dello Sport.
“With Ancelotti some of us have a particular connection. He is an exquisite person from a human point of view. He is special.
“Whenever the two of us have had some hot debates, or arguments, it is only because we have a strong rapport of esteem and respect for one another."
Seedorf is now 32, and is in the final stages of his illustrious career, but it seems he has no immediate plans for retiring just yet.
"I do not know [when I will retire],” he stated.
“This season will be crucial. I have never stayed anywhere without stimuli, I need to feel always in progress.
“I have not thought about when I will stop because physically I have always felt good.”
All hail Zee...the Dutch master!!!

Clarence Seedorf: I Could Leave Milan For England

A host of clubs will no doubt be sizing up a January bid for AC Milan midfielder Clarence Seedorf after he expressed his love for the English game.
The 32-year-old snubbed a number of opportunities to make the switch during his prime years, but he has been thoroughly impressed by the competition's improvement in recent times.
"I would love to play in the Premier League," Seedorf said in the Daily Mail. "Which player wouldn't? It's one of the best leagues in the world. I'm happy at AC Milan but I never say never.
"The development of the Premier League over the last five years has been incredible. The football is exciting with much more quality. I love to watch it on television."
While it is unlikely that a top-four team will come calling for Seedorf at this stage of his career, Champions League hopefuls like Manchester City and Everton could use a player of his calibre and experience.
http://www.goal.com/en/news/1708/ac-milan/...lan-for-englandhmmm..this chump. i am reluctant at the thought of Seedorf leaving us, but it is bound to happen sooner or later, and as this article suggests, it could be sooner. That January transfer is pure goal.com bs but the quote of him saying never say never is certainly not fabricated.
This sparks an interesting thought in my head. how would our squad absorb the loss of Seedorf if he were to go whenenver he does? Move Dinho deeper and play 2 strikers? (hmm) Add another DM in his place? (..likely..) Who are ideal candidates for his replacement? (Yoann? Miguel Veloso? *dream* Essien?)
Seedorf to me is one of a kind. I can't find a player in the world quite like him. He's near impossible to get off of the ball, has world class passing ability, world class dribbling ability, one of the most powerful shots in the world..He's got the physicality (on the ball) like Essien with the style of a Deco, and has a better shot than the both..
..what do we do post-Seedorf?

Depends on what the coach asks from him. If he wants him to run, he will run. If he asks him to hold the midfield and slow down the pace, then that is what he will do
Still he is 34 years old and pace wont be one of his main strengths, but his experience is something to reckon with .. Which is magnified by being the most player in the EPL to have won the CL.
Then again you can only speculate, you dont know till it happens

Well said.

I agree with the Seedorf part, sell him when he wants to move and get some $$$ to invest in younger talents. The more we make Milan a retirement home, the more ground we'll lose in the transfer market. There are exceptions, yes, but we should look to sell players when we get a chance and reinvest that money.

Ancelotti Defends Seedorf From Ungrateful Milan Crowd
The Dutch player was jeered off the pitch following his performance on Wednesday evening during his side’s 1-1 match against Genoa.
Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti is very disappointed with the way that midfielder Clarence Seedorf was singled out by the home crowd on Wednesday evening.
Seedorf has been at Milan since 2002, helping the Rossoneri to obtain numerous victories domestically and abroad.
“I’m sorry that such an important player like Seedorf, who gave a lot for this shirt, is not given the right recognition, but we all know that in football recognition does not matter,” commented the former Juventus coach.
“Even now Clarence is doing well and we’re sorry to see the public against him.”
Ancelotti is also sorry for striker Marco Borriello, who has been hit by numerous injuries this season.
“He’s a player who we’re missing, because for the characteristics that he has, we have aimed a lot on him and we continue to do so,“ he continued.
“Unfortunately he was hit bit an infinite series of injuries and bad luck and he will not return before one month.”
Milan take on Lazio this evening at the Olimpico stadium of Rome, hoping to reach Juventus in second place and maybe decrease the gap from Inter.
Glenn Debattista
So, one or two days after Gila saying Milan fans didn't give him the recognition he deserves, this one comes up.
Not that I'm Gila and Zee's biggest fan, but what the San Siro crowd did to them was ugly.

That's as stupid as it gets. The past is one thing and the present is another. The fans are not jeering Seedorf off because of what he has done for the club in the past, they are jeering him off because of what he is NOT doing now. If anyone's disrespecting Seedorf's history, it's Seedorf himself...

I think its unacceptable that our own players get jeered by our fans during matches. The reason the supporters go to matches is to give the team a lift, not to bring them down and criticise them. Fair enough Seedorf looses the ball alot and his decision making can be suspect, but its no reason to boo him. Attack a valid target at least like Favalli or Emerson
I don't think Seedorf was booed during the match and I agree, that would not be appropriate. But a fan has every right to boo a player or the team after the match has ended cause after all he/she pays to see them make an effort. This is justified, Seedorf hardly tries in 9 out of 10 matches!

Yeah,..well, Real Madrid...ahh...they boo every time something happens. They throw things around, they run naked across stadiums, bring dead animals with them,...so...yes, I mean...Real Madrid fans (the ones dst meant probably, or those who boo a lot) are just stupid, while booing at Seedorf at this stage isn't "that" stupid.
But I don't agree with the Seedorf bash.

It depends on the situation. Booing a player that's constantly showing lack of interest after the end of a game is justified (as long as that player is not Maldini or Raul). Booing a player that's having a bad day during the match (like the Arsenal and Liverfool fans did with Eboue and Leiva respectively) I believe is totally wrong.
Even what I said though is not always right or wrong. Every situation is different.
What I said about Real fans back then was that booing Capello when the team is fighting for the championship and even after winning shows lack of class and respect. And I also said that Real Madrid have the most glory hunters of any other team. That has nothing to do with who they are or how I look at them, that's clearly logic; a certain percentage of fans are glory hunters and since Madrid are the most supported club in the world they probably are supported by more glory hunters too... it's not their fault and it would be the same no matter which was the most supported club. I never accused them of that.
