Dortmund and Juve are dark horses for me, but I think Barca will win this, if they play like they did against us that is, they looked like the team Pep coached in his early days, so hungry for the ball they didn't even let our players breath, something which had seemingly gone out of them in these last few seasons

The other two as in? huh.gif

Barca got beat 2-0 by a bunch of kids. Bayern got beat 2-0 at home by Arsenal reserves.

Ah, okay. happy.gif I had a feeling you meant the trio of Madrid, Barcelona and Bayern, but the way you worded it got my mind in a bit of a twist. Regardless of that, we are a still a top side, though not playing like one. Milan can easily play the hold and hit tactic, it's what we are best at. Just sad that we don't try (or pull it off) at will.
X-Offender
I'd keep an eye on Dortmund.
X-Offender
Remember that the last CL draw came out exactly as the simulation the previous day? Well, if for some reason it happens again, these should be the pairs:

Juventus-Barcelona
PSG-Galatasaray
Madrid-Dortmund
Bayern-Malaga
Zed.D
PSG and Galatasaray in the last 8... money talks.

They also had a relatively favourable draw. Let's see how they'll do against tougher opponents.
acid911
Tougher opponents it is then. happy.gif What a great draw, love it, love it.

PSG vs Barcelona
Madrid vs Galatasaray
Bayern vs Juventus
Dortmund vs Malaga

Hopefully PSG, Madrid, Bayern and Dortmund go through to end the CL on a high!
Fillipo Simone
I don't want Madrid to win it. I don't want them getting further from us away.

As for Bayern...hmh,..not so good experiences when it comes to Italian clubs in knockout phases.
han2503
Well Bayern Juve will ensure that Juve will at LEAST drop 3 to 6 points in the league matches which come before and after each game.

I seriously hope that the drubbing Barca gave us won't effect our morale which was at a high before that game, like last season when we went out to them and our season spiraled and gave Juve the title.

Getting past Napoli should be first on the agenda, and if we manage to keep this good run until we face Juve and get it somewhere around a 5 point gap it will be an interesting run-in to the season's end
Fillipo Simone
I seriously doubt we can get to that point, but we'll see.
han2503

If the players don't let that Barca loss play on their minds and let it deflate them and ruin all the work they've put in., then I think we'll do good in the league.

If we make it past Napoli, Juve and Fiorentina with 7 points in the bag then we'll be in a good position for the run-in. And with Juve having their minds on bigger fish we could at least make them look over their shoulders
dst
****ing lucky RM! dry.gif Please, anyone but them...

if Liverpool were in it, I'd even rather have them win it.

Am I the only one who will be supporting Juventus?

By the way, what are the semi-final possible pairings?

Juve to drop 6 points in the space of 4 games? I'm not sure about that.

Dortmund got the tough group and now getting their just rewards by playing nobodies all the way to the SFs.

Not known yet (they changed the system). There will be another draw.

Nope. of course I'll be supporting Juve.

I'll also be supporting PSG and our ex-Milanisti to get the job done this time and avenge our defeat.

Dortmund and Madrid are my other picks to make the semis. I just won't be able to enjoy a semi final game with Gala in it (no offense to them)

QUOTE
The draw for the semi-finals will be held on April 12, and the tournament concludes at Wembley Stadium on May 25.

I smell a rat.. WTF is this? I may sound like kurt here but are UEFA trying to make sure Madrid and Real won't meet before the final by cheating in the draws or something?

I'll support Juve until the semis as the longer they're in it the more they're distracted and fatigued. Plus it's good for Serie A if they go deep into the competition

I don't think they've made them going by what zaddie said, and I think it's pretty obvious why, UEFA are all about controlling how this competition evolves

Well they dropped points when the team standing between them and advancing was Celtic, I would think they'd at least either lose 1 game or draw 2

Another draw... that's it.

Is there any other football tournament where teams are drawn against each other in every single round? I'd like to know UEFA's reasoning behind this new rule.

Not sure what other countries are like, but both domestic English cups have a draw for every round.

It was like this in european competition for many years in the past. If you are behind uefa fixing draws theory (I don't buy it), then what's gonna prevent them to fix it all in one draw anyway? They could still fix that Real and Barca won't meet till the finals.

Maybe they want to see how things develop in the quarters first.

biggrin.gif Not really, I wasn't being 100% serious.
kurtsimonw
I'm not entirely sure a live draw can be fixed. Especially when you have ex-players often drawing the balls and such.
Jack Bauer
Yeah, you hear some crazy theories here and there but it's all just bullshit imo.
X-Offender
How come Ibra is suspended for the first leg? Didn't he already serve his ban against Valencia.
Zed.D
They must have given him a two game ban then. his tackle was a bit rough.
X-Offender
Really? I don't think it was a red in the first place.
Zed.D
I just remembered how his foul was, last night I was too tired to think properly when I said that. you're right. 2 game ban was excessive. no wonder the guy won't change for good, he gets punished unfairly sometimes and he's going to take it out on on the next pair or legs that annoy him.
X-Offender
Ex-Turkish ref claims Champions League draw rigged
Fillipo Simone
So, ban for Ibrahimović revoke, he'll be playing against Barcelona in the first leg.
X-Offender
Great!
acid911
Finally a sane decision from insane people! cool.gif Late as it is, I will take it. At least the match will be worth watching now that the world's best striker is playing. How much damage Ibra can do remains to be seen, though, and will depend on what kind of space Barcelona offer him.

And really, as horribly bad as we were in the 2nd leg match against them, Barcelona's defense was worse!
han2503
Don't think it's will make any difference tbh. They'll be pinned in their half anyway, Ibra will just have to make sure to get into their faces
Fillipo Simone

Are you serious? PSG need Ibra under any circumstance.

Are you serious? PSG need Ibra under any circumstance.

The only thing Ibra will be able to do is rough up Pique and Puyol/Mascherano when there is an aerial challenge to be won, but realistically speaking, do you think PSG will be able to get Ibra involved? They'll get pinned back and personally I can't see them pulling off the team effort to put in the tactically perfect game that is required, PSG have looked like a disjointed bunch of individuals all season, pulling through because of individual brilliance and nothing else and this is the main reason why Barca will walk over them
Fillipo Simone
We'll see. I think having Ibra around is good for all sorts of things.
William405
supporting twoof my favorite players today!Ibra and Thiago forza Milan!
Zed.D
Wasn't it Pirlo who lost the ball which Alaba converted? typical of him.
Zed.D
ARGH I don't know which game to watch... both are equally exciting.

Bayern-Juve is the obvious choice. Watching Barça play hurts my eyes.
