But then again, it's a classic case of the hate him when he's against you, love him when he's on your side. Same thing with Van Bommel tbh. But the thing is that I've come to respect both as men more then anything else. They truely left a great impression on me.

But one side not - we didn't like Bommel because he had a reputation for being "dirty". I must say, after joining Milan (or better, Bayern) he didn't do a thing to appear that way. On the other hand, Ibra showed his negative side quite a few times.

I was very against MvBommel for that reason, I thought he was an unnecessary transfer that was just going to cause trouble - quite the opposite.

As a fan of the guy (Bommel) I don't quite know where the dirty reputation came along. Sure, I'll be the first to say that he was the smoothest criminal around, always (or mostly) flying under the referees radars, and occasionally putting in some hard or harsh tackles.

But Van Bommel has been a through and model professional, all his career. You don't become a captain of Bayern Munch for nothing. And the guy's been great with the Holland NT as well. One of the few DMs I can safely say I am a fan of. I just wished he played all his career with us.

Then again, I was the happiest guy when he signed up for us - not that hard to be, considering I was practically the only member here on Milanfan that thought this was a great move, and knew he would come out great. Sure, I would have loved a memorable goal from him (the guy came close more than once), but curse the posts.

I do agree Ibra had his negative moments, unlike Van Bommel, but still the Swede gave it his all. There were times when he and Silva were the only guys playing in the team during a match. And with both gone with the wind, look at the places that took us.

Still, having all three of Ibra, Silva and Van Bommel playing together were one of the joys of the past few years.

Ah yes, I forgot the last second-winner Barca got against them. You're right, 3 from 6.

He used to make wreckless, awful, fouls. And his attitude towards opposition was awful.

That said he nearly broke Suarez in 2, he went up in my esitmations from then on.

The thing is if we had gotten any other draw say man u, then either barca or malaga would end up facing a team from spain and you can't have that. So we got the shaft.

Come on, it can't be that simple. they can't fix it so obviously in front of millions get away with it. there must be a reason that we could only get Barca at that point, I hope someone finds out what it is.
