AC Milan Declare Gokhan Inler And Edin Dzeko Top Transfer Targets - Report
Leonardo is hoping for some winter transfer funds...

AC Milan coach Leonardo is awaiting confirmation on whether he will be able to delve into the transfer market this winter, according to Il Corriere Dello Sport.

The Brazilian is awaiting the results of ongoing contract negotiations with the squad members, specifically the youth team, in preparation for next season’s budget.

Despite assurances from the Milan hierarchy that there will be no winter spending, preliminary reports due this month may reveal space in the budget to bring in reinforcements as soon as January.

AC Milan have reputedly identified their two major targets for this summer in Udinese midfielder Gokhan Inler and Wolfsburg striker Edin Dzeko.

While Milan will be hoping they can tie up a deal for the Swiss midfielder fairly swiftly, the capture of Dzeko may prove a more difficult task.

The Bosnian has attracted a number of suitors all over Europe with Chelsea and former Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti being the latest in a long line of top European clubs to register an interest in the Wolfsburg man.

Interview with Fifa Agent Fabio Parisi

He's very close to Milan like Bronzetti. He's the guy who helped shevchenko move to chelsea.

QUOTE
Mr. Parisi, you are an expert in this field, what do you think AC Milan are planning to accomplish during the winter transfer market?

I don't think Milan will be making any major moves in the market. There is the possibility of an attacker and an outside defender arriving, however there will not be any big name transfers.

Many rumors are suggesting that there could be significant movements even in January with regard to the attack, do you think there is any truth behind them?

It really depends on what Milan want to do regarding Dominic Adiyiah. If he is sent to a smaller club to gain experience, then an outside attacker to support Ronaldinho and Pato will most likely arrive.

Rumors aside, what names do you think are realistic for Milan at this point?

Its very difficult to find players of the appropriate caliber in the January transfer market. Pandev is the most realistic choice for Milan at this point, however that depends on whether or not he is able to terminate his contract in January.

My final question is regarding the summer transfer market. Which players would you recommend for the Rossoneri?

Edin Dzeko for the attack. They should look towards players from Stuttgart for defensive cover.

I think he's about got it nailed on the head.

But overall pandev is really good. I hope we sign him soon.

EDIT: Pandev has now been officially released! He is a free agent biggrin.gif MOVE YOU FAT BALD C*** SIGN HIM!!

News 2:

- Toni is pretty much a done deal for Roma. He'll move on Loan.

- Abbiati has come out and stated he wants to remain in milan. However, rumours are saying Fiorentina are going to bid for him.

- Juventus are linked with a bid for Rafinha in Jan. He said this: "I want to change clubs as soon as possible, I would strongly try a new experience, engage in a new league. And Juventus and Real Madrid are two great club.

- Inter, Milan, Juventus, napoli and Zenit have started talks with Pandev's agent. Rumors say Inter are in pole position.

- Milan channel director Mauro Suma has come out and declared the rumours that Dida is up for renewal is false. He says Inzaghi, Favalli and Dida will be evaluated at the end of the season and a decision for renewal will occur then.

- Genoa and a number of clubs in spain have enquired about Storari.

- Rumours are saying Cagliari has signed Ariaudo and that gives the green light for us to sign Astori. Simic has also come out today and said that Mongongu will be coming to milan.

+1 (No sarcasm/patronising intended).

From what I read, Pandev looks to be going to Inter. I always figured Galliani liked Pandev. Of course we might be skipping Pandev coz we are going after Dzeko and Krasic and do no wish to strain the wage bill too much.

The Astori thing is a little worrying, because that leaves us with:

Nesta, Silva, Kaladze, Bonera, Favalli, Gooch, Astori all vying for the CB position.

This is a good purchase ONLY if we're releasing Kaladze and Favalli next year and Bonera is also considered to play as RB.

Btw...would you guys wish for a RB or a LB?
Zed.D
I have not followed the rumors in the past few days, is there any possibility of us signing Dzeko in January?

QUOTE
Btw...would you guys wish for a RB or a LB?

We need both but since we have a bunch of players who can play in the right, I'd say a LB is more necessary.
Jack Sparrow
Not really...it's a huge amount of money to spend on a person who is essentially cup-tied. That being said, if we can use the cup-tied factory to bring down his price, I wouldn't be against it.

However I'm 99% certain Dzeko won't be coming in Jan. We're being gentlemen with Wolfsburg I suppose.

I also think we need a LB...for pretty much the same reasons you've put forward.
Bluesummers
Yeah Dzeko will not be coming, its just too much money for a Jan purchase. We also need to remember that come summer, berlu might invest a little back into milan; you never know. At that time, we can also sit back and really assess our finances and know what we have to work with instead of going all out in Jan and then get slumped into a financial crisis.

I hope Pandev comes but it seems Inter will most likely get him. They will probably offer him 4m/year and he'll play for a few months and then go to the reserves to join mancini, suazo, quaresma, and aurnatovic.

A January exit is looming for Milan striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar as Genoa join the race for his services.

According to Goal.com Italia, Huntelaar is being followed by the Grifoni, who see the Dutchman as an alternative to Sergio Floccari.

The link follows report that Genoa are also keen on landing Marco Storari from the Rossoneri as they prepare to swoop for a goalkeeper.

It is said Huntelaar will arrive on a loan deal until the end of the season. Before he can move though, Gian Piero Gasperini will have to find placements for Floccari and Luciano Figueroa.

The Italian is wanted by Lazio, who are seeking to replace Goran Pandev after he left the club. Figueroa meanwhile has been linked with Livorno.

As for Storari, he is seeking a new adventure after being frozen out by Leonardo following Nelson Dida's return to form.

Ronaldinho Frozen Out For The Season

In a tragic event AC Milan superstar, Ronaldo de Assis Moreira otherwise known as Ronaldinho was rushed to Hospital Central Policia Militar in Rio de Janeiro. He is in a critical condition where he is treated in the Emergency hall of the hospital and surgery is underway.

Police Chief Davi Liema, "By-standers who witnessed the accident said there was a hit-and-run event". The local police are on the search for the culprit who drives a green Ford Focus.

Brazilian National Team Coach Dunga said in a statement, "A crime was committed, I have faith in our police to bring in the aggressor". Asked whether this incident would shatter the superstar's chance for a place in the Brazilian team's selection, Dunga slammed "This is not a time for football, this is a time where Gaucho needs us all at his side!"

Initial reports coming from the Hospital in Rio de Janeiro compiled that Ronaldinho had shattered three chest bones with intensive internal bleeding. Yet it is still early to assert how life threatening the same could be.

Arsenal are believed to be considering a loan move for Milan striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar, according to the Daily Mail.

The Gunners have been stifled with several forwards spending time in the treatment room. And with the likes of Robin van Persie unavailable for an extended period of time, manager Arsene Wenger is thought to be considering a short-term loan stint for the former Ajax star.

The Dutchman has had a largely ineffective stint at the San Siro, and has in the past indicated that he may be willing to ply his trade at greener pastures to boost his World Cup chances.

Netherlands boss Bert van Marwijk has also explained in the past that the 26-year-old forward needs to play regularly if he is to earn a place in the squad that will travel to South Africa next year.

Huntelaar has also been linked with a move to Manchester United.

Nah, mtl, you don't. You say 'here's stuff from goal.com' and list the stories. You don't list stories from half a dozen different places and neglect to say which thing is from which place.

the citing of sources is something that's been gone over in exquisite detail for individuals concerned. It's common courtesy and given that it's been gone over so frequently, I don't think there can be any doubt that people who post news articles on this forum (transfer, news, etc) are expected to cite their sources.

And yes, everyone can and sometimes others do post stuff from milannews (a fansite that caters to the ultras, let there be no doubt of that) or tuttomercatoweb. Doing so, however, doesn't earn you special treatment. We all have to abide by the same rules.

ok ...but i'm not doing anything wrong then by saying : "today's goal.com rumors...."?

I don't know if this qualifies as spam, but i went apeshit writting all of this for miz to complain about one point i made. i really wish to get more feedback on this thesis-like post, ESPECIALLY considering im on winter break atm smile.gif

and i give you, my perfect waste of time.

for lack of something to do, i wrote a some possibilities, directions we can go in for the next summer periode

i honestly wan to sell seedorf this summer to find a AM that doesn't give up on defense. last summer ajax offered us 10M for him and he didn't want to go. i think a similar bid would suffice, being as how he has gotten older, yet alot beter this year. Giovinco/cassano/ederson/krasic top my wish-list to replace aging seedorf.

Sadly we had a choice to not renew Gattuso and promote a youth squad player/buy externally, yet we got predictable and signed him till 2057. i would have been ok with Ambro and flamini(who i feel, yes was a bust, but can play well with a bit more moral). possible replacements would be a more or less offensive one in VdV/montolivo/gago/hernanes/muntari/inler/hamsik/afellay/Moussa Sissoko who each is their own way would upgrade the team or offer more then gatts provides at this time.

as for the GK situation, i think Galliani is watching the relegation battle in Serie A at this time, where 3 very good keepers are risking seeing their teams go to Serie B, the unlucky trifecta include Curci, Andujar and Consigli. i believe that whether or not they sell storari (which IMO they should, if not to generate a little more cash for themselves) will determine the outcome of our GK situation. Should storari go, then our 3 keepers are dida, abbiati (who should be starting but i digress), and roma (who we should all agree, should not see the field this year). bringing in a talent like Curci's would be great for italy's NT(with doubts over the number 2 at the moment, italian players and our organization(as he is a milanfan). i truly believe he s a caliber keeper, with arguably the shittiest defense in Serie A. it is almost poetic how he and maccarone carry that team, and , having been to siena myself, the city. My love for tuscany aside, best options would be Curci(starter),Consigli(backup to abbiati),Mandada (truly World Class), handanovic(for obvious reasons), Felipe (corinthians)

in defense, i don't see our problems being as grim as they seam to be, we own alot of quality defenders at the moment, despite them not being at milan :Diniz, darmian, digao(has surprisingly played well in action for first placed lecce)Albertazzi, astori and so on... I beleive we should sell kaladzhe to any fool willing to buy him from us, and replace him buy astori, which is the cheapest solution. People forget that bonnera is a very good backup and with astori learning from thiago silva and nesta, he can build from his good form in calgriari. At fullback, i think we can solve the problem internally, by selling janku and replacing him wih one of either darmian, diniz or crowd favorite, Albertazzi. Of course another course of action would be to sign a suitable starter of make this a position of need and go after adriano of sevilla(who has been linked alot with us and no one has bothered mooting it). That being said i absolutely love this kid Belluschi from catania, the kid is only 20 and has shut down most of serie A's best LBs/LMs/LWs with rino-like toughness. That being said i expect zambrotta and a purchased fullback to start ahead of antonini and diniz, who has looked good on a team that hasn't this year. We will probably extend albertazzi's co-own deal to let him evolve as a player a la Paloschi. My choices for the external solution are Belluschi/Adriano/Sagna/moretti/criscito.

For the offense, as taboo as this sounds i would think about selling klaas, so long as pippo doesn't retire. Boriello is good but being as how he's the single forward, i think we need someone who can set us apart in the league/CL. Although i was a sceptic on the matter, due to the over-saturated amount of forwards we possess, i think Dzeko's our man i who think that regular CL qualifying chances, a better chance at regular playing time and ALOT of offensive opportunities would encourage Huntelaar to go to wolfsburg along with, 10-15M. Another parallel option would be to buyback paloschi and ask them to include one of either Mcdonald or gallopa for us to give them Boriello (and some cash). I personally think Parma would be interested in the Services of boriello, if not only for their aspiring Europa league qualification. What would probably be arranged in this situation would be they buy him from us for a discounted 50% off paloschi. This being said, Our forward combinations would be endless: dinho-dzeko-pato, Pato-Dzeko-Abate... If pippo retires, then i say we can go for what could be our new Supersub, Maccarone.

Standard Liege stalwart Milan Jovanovic is said to be nearing a summer switch to AC Milan after rejecting interest from Hamburg.

The 28-year-old has been a breakout star in this year's Champions League, having broken into the Serbian national side two years ago.

Now, according to Standard powerbroker Luciano D'Onofrio, the time is ripe for a move to Italy.

Speaking to Belgian magazine Sport, the vice-president stated that AC Milan are close to matching Standard's valuation of the player.

This should see Hamburg's interst come to a close, as it is not thought that the German side are willing to prosecute a bidding war.

"It's all black and white, so this isn't just a rumour. Assis himself is clearly happy with it and I think that it can go ahead."

Botafogo's interest in the former Barcelona man is well-known, with their ability to pay his wages hinging on a series of sponsorships and commercial opportunities said to be in the works.

TBH, this is the only reason I can think of. Galliani is a big fan of Pandev, and even once said (when we signed that agreement with the Macedonian FA) that it would help us find the next Pandev or something like that. Yet we just let him slip?

We've been expecting great signings since god knows when and nothing's happened (apart from signing Pato who, despite carrying a rather big price tag, wasn't a star player/guaranteed to do magic straightaway). we even sold one of our key players. whether or not that trends continues for yet another season and we still don't dig into our pockets for a star player of Dzeko's stature, we'll just have to wait and see. I can't say I feel very optimistic about it.

PS. I personally don't think Dinho was a big signing!
Jack Sparrow
No he wasn't a big signing....but we seem to be clearing our garage of old tools this season.

Favalli, Dida and Pippo (the last of the old warhorses) will have their contracts evaluated only at the end of the season. I don't know how that's gonna go. I'll probably cry if Pippo leaves, but I think I should keep a box of tissues handy just in case.

But anyway barring Pippo, none of our current forwards look like leaving.

As for next summer, I think we will be very prudent, but I think the following factors:

-Debts cleared
-Lowered wages- with Kaka's sale, players leaving, Rino's lower wage new contract
-CL money
- Serie A sponsorship changes, where money no longer filters to Serie B
- New sponsorships - Emirates, Tasci and a few others
- New shirt sponsor for 2010

All that said, will give us some money to spend on the transfer market. We'll have to see. It won't be galaticos, but certainly some of the best from Tier 2 Europe I think.

Who says we did not move for him? Don't forget that Inter would offer him more than we would... and they'd even go unreasonably high if they had to. We don't wanna go there right now.

I don't care too much for him anyway. I don't think he'd add anything much (if any at all) different to our attack. If we're to spend any money I'd rather we spent it on some other type of forward or even better on a fullback. We desperately need those.

Yeah you got it right on.

Also i'm sure no matter how much it costs, we'll get Dzeko. The majority of Milanfans all across want him at our club simply because he is a Rosso fan and he's very good. Therefore, if we all want him that bad and he's in our price range (under 40M) we'll most defenitly go after him.

Like that guy Parisi said in his interview earlier; if we loan out Adiyiah, we'll sign a winger. If we don't, we'll probably just use him.

We'll sign a defender for sure though. Whether that is Mongugu, Astori etc etc etc.

I really don't want him, and I don't think we need him if we sign Dzeko. If we sign Krasic, Dzeko and a LB/RB we'll be set. If Ronaldinho keeps his current form (or improves on it) Dzeko will have a great life in Milan.

Whatsup with that video of Krasic's Milan birthday cake? Was he a milan fan as a boy? I wonder if they know something we don't........

Tuttosport is reporting that Genoa are after both Storari and Huntelaar in January.

Tuttomercatoweb is quoting a Belgian paper saying that Standard Liege's Jovanovic will come to Milan in June.

Gazzetta is reporting that Milan have beat the Gobbi to sign a highly rated 14 year old Slovenian, Zan Benedidic.

Yeah when it comes to the kiddies, we certainly seem to be splashing out the cash.
Patinho
I don't see why we don't try to go for Alex he is barely getting playing time with chelsea and he is a very good defender, hes big like gooch execpt he can defend
Tennie
Because he'll be too expensive, he's older than Milan seem to be going for.

If we go for a new defender, Fishdoll would much prefer either of the two starting centerbacks from Bari.
Patinho
i agree with being too expensive i didnt think about that. But I think it would be worth it since hes 27 and defenders in milan last until at least 36 or 37. We should go for the bari defenders but i dont think they'll be starters most likely backups
Tennie
Gonna respectfully disagree with you on a couple of things, Patinho. smile.gif

I just don't think Alex is that stellar and wouldn't want to see the club splash out crazy money on him. I also think that perhaps you may be underestimating the Bari centerbacks (who are, incidentally, also the starting centerbacks for the Italy U21s) -- Bari have the second best record in the league as far as goals conceded; only the cugini have conceded fewer and that's only one goal.
Patinho
You kind of just owned me, but What are the names of the defenders youre talking about?
