I'm going to respectfully disagree with you jack. I personally think we'll have 40-50 million in the summer to spend. Whether we spend it all or not is the question.

Possibly. I'm thinking along the lines of how much we will actually spend. For next season, I think the priority should be FB and a mid-fielder to play Seedorf's position, though I'd like to see how Di Gennaro turns out.

I think these are two transfers that can be wrapped up for under 30 million. Even 20 million if we decide to go cheap. I think our total outlay will depend on whether we go for Dzeko or not.
Bluesummers
I think we'll go for dzeko so thats 20-30 million.

we'll sign Astori for 2-3 million, CB playing for Cagliari.

We'll sign a FB forsure and oddo and Janku and kaladze will probably see the door. Favalli will retire.

We might sign a CM as well but I have my doubts. Seedorf at 33 does not look like slowing down any time soon. He has so much quality its unbelievable.

Tennie can you give a basic translation of this please and thank you biggrin.gif

The love stories are often inaccessible and tormented by lost love, touching and sometimes achieved. In today's football, where money is god undisputed master, the players tend to lose a sense of belonging to their team, except the pleasant and Edin Dzeko. The young striker was born in Sarajevo on 17 March 1986, his childhood was difficult, tormented by the war in Bosnia-Herzegovina (1992-1995).

Just six years with his family, was forced to suffer the horrors of that conflict, one of the most bloody and cruel of the last century. In conjunction with the war, a soccer team dominated in Italy and in Europe: Milan of invincible. The small Edin, to "escape" from the monstrosity of the war, began to thrill in football, began to cultivate his love for Milan, with the hope of one day wear the red and black striped shirt. After the war Dzeko began to play football, his dream had not subsided. In 2003 he signed his first professional contract with the Fc Željezničar, playing as a midfielder and initialed 5 goals in 20 matches played.

In 2005 Edin began his adventure abroad, moving to the Czech Republic, acquired by Teplice. The young footballer was immediately transferred on loan to the UST, a team czech second division, where Dzeko was deployed in attack, scoring 6 goals in 15 appearances. In 2006, the striker returned to Giovanti Teplice, playing a beautiful season: 16 goals, and the title of best foreigner in the league. In the summer of 2007, the new coach of Wolfsburg, Felix Magath, after noting the performance of Edin wanted him at all costs in his team. The team of Volkswagen Dzeko bought for 4 million, making him sign a contract to expire in June 2011. The first season of the Bosnian striker in Germany was excellent: 8 networks and 7 assists in 28 races, allowing the Wolfsburg in the UEFA Cup to qualify for next year.

It was the following season, the year 2008/09, to consecrate definitely Edin Dzeko, who, along with fellow department Graphite, led his team to victory in the Bundesliga, scoring 36 goals in league and cup season. In May 2009 Leonardo, new coach following the departure of Milan Ancelotti, Edin Dzeko identified precisely in the ideal reinforcement for the Rossoneri's team, the dream of a child was about to accomplish. In June, the Rossoneri directors flew to Bosnia to meet with the player's father, by defining the details of the contract and making sure, as expected, the will of the attacker, who could not wait to be able to wear the shirt of his team heart. However, as taught by the greatest novels, often in stories of love borne of sudden obstacles, in this case the "Don Rodrigo" the situation has a name: Armin Veh, new Wolfsburg coach Felix Magath took over. The coach Former Stuttgart, together with the leadership of the Wolves, considered unsellable Edin, seeing it as a key player for the team for the forthcoming Champions League debut in the German team.

In a meeting last July, attended Dzeko, Veh and the leadership of Wolfsburg, was enshrined the absolute incedibilità Player. Edin tried in every way to convince the Wolfsburg to let him go, showing all his anger and frustration, but it was useless. In the weeks after AC Milan, noted the impossibility of purchase, the Dutchman hired Huntelaar from Real Madrid. Meanwhile Dzeko signed a contract extension, which was inserted a buyout clause of around 30 million euros. The rest is history now: the Bosnian striker, after a brilliant start to the season, spiced with some internal friction (probably caused by the disappointment of not being passed to the player for AC Milan), has continued its relentless march realization, grazing also World Cup qualifiers with her Bosnia, succumbing only to last, with Portugal. In the last month the entries that gave Edin Dzeko at Milan are back strongly to the forefront. The stoic coach Armin Veh, after having prevented the sale in the summer, has given the green light to transfer must for next season.

The same Edin, as reported on its official website, said it wants at all costs, AC Milan, despite being followed by many teams, including Manchester United and Juventus. The Rossoneri, meanwhile, found Marco Borriello, pitted for the entire last season. Neapolitan striker has become a cornerstone of the new form of Leonardo, managing to oust the immortal Pippo Inzaghi. The game in Catania has also revived the much-criticized Klaas-Jan Huntelaar author of a decisive two goals in the final minutes. The current situation of the department Rossoneri forward and hence much better than in summer: the attackers are okay physically, play well and score. However, in the hearts of the Milan fans still harbors the dream Edin Dzeko, the people of Milan player has not forgotten all the declarations of love by the attacker Bosnian expenses, in addition to admiring his great qualities. Dzeko is in fact a versatile striker, tall and physically strong, with a great header and an above average technique, capable of playing as the first and second toe as well as being equipped with an exceptional flair for goal.

The center would be ideal for the Bosnian form of AC Milan by Leonardo, being able to play both as a center forward, but also as a forward outside, allowing a virtually complete rotation of the men in pink. Galliani, interviewed about a possible port of Dzeko for next season, has not closed the door striker, indicating that Milan has not forgotten the player and will do everything possible to acquire it. The size of the buyout clause would be around 30 million euros, a figure important, but that can be "polished" by the firm will of the Bosnian panzer dress Rossoneri. Dzeko talk about the latest in a succession of Arsenal, but at the same time, a refusal by Edin to a transfer to Manchester City, striker, as repeated millions of times, just wants to AC Milan. The marriage between Edin and people Rossoneri, canceled abruptly in the summer, could finally be celebrated as the most beautiful and romantic happy ending of a wonderful love story.

unless hunter goes the other way, i don't see the Dzeko thing happenning, while i don't watch to much Bundesliga anymore, i don't know what type of a Fwd he is but if we've learned anything from Hunter is that these present tactis don't suit him and as i had mentioned before he would need to be partenered with borriello with ronnie/pato on the flanks with pirlo and ambro/seedorf behind those 4, that being said i think that is a little too attacking for modern day football and wouldn't happen, is Dzeko an upgrade at CF over boriello in our tactics or does he play like klaas?

Dzeko is somthing special, i watch him evry game in last two years. Incredible strong, incredible pace, incredible header, incredible finish i think we onlly miss Dzeko so we could Aim. Borrielo and KJH are great strikers but Dzeko is Class!!!!

For u who doubt in Dzeko capabilities watch this :

Per che? I don't think so. You'll notice very little money has been spent this season for Leo. I think 10-15 for a summer transfer window is about par. Mid-tier teams spend that much.

Unless you're suggesting that 10-15 is a tiny amount, which I can't disagree with entirely.You'd have to use the Milan brandname, and hopefully the success we're reaping now (and that shall continue to season's end) to attract players.

Exactly. Milan's summer budget only 10-15 million? it'll surely be more than that.
Tennie
As for Astori, who was mentioned above, it's sounding more and more like he'll be returning to Milan. He's a former youth product (for those who've forgotten) and is on one of the hated half-ownership things with Cagliari. Fishdoll wouldn't mind in the slightest if he brought Marchetti with him. smile.gif

I was wondering why u guys think that G&B wont invest some money at new players i mean B have a fortune??
I think that B will give a cash at least 80 Mil € that he will invest in new players!!
Tennie
The owner having money is different than the club having money. Over the last year, there has been a lot of work done to make the club self-sustaining (ie, not like inter or man city or chelsea where the owners inject 50 million at regular intervals). The positive in this is that Milan isn't going to have any trouble with the financial fair play rules UEFA has set up; the negative is that I dont' think we'll be seeing a lot of really spectacular signings for a while at least. And no, I don't think Berlusconi is going to hand over that kind of money for transfers in the foreseeable future.

I'm going to make myself unpopular and state that I'm not all that sure right now that Milan actually needs another striker (ie, Dzeko), no matter how much of a fan the guy may happen to be. I think a much more immediate and pressing priority is a fullback or two and that is where I'd prefer money to be spent.

dst
We certainly don't need another forward. If Dzeko comes either Borriello or Huntelaar have to go. But I would not spend 30m on Dzeko no matter how good he is because with that money we can get a midfielder and a full-back that we actually need!
Jack Sparrow
Maybe...but this guy could potentially be better than Zlatan Ibrahimovic....and I don't see Pippo lasting forever.

Right now...this very moment... if Borriello gets injured what have we got? You think we'll play that 4-2-4 for real..from the start?

I'll go so far as to say, he'll fit better than Borriello at CF. Now, we're all being optimistic coz things are working...if one of R80/Seedorf were to lose form/get injured this house of cards is coming down.

It's good times now...but honestly I don't see this lasting forever.

P.S: I realise I should hold judgement till we see Adiyiah and Di Gennaro....not to mention Paloschi might turn out to be superb.
dst
You think he can be that good? I don't believe it. I have not seen too much of him but he's not as good with the ball.

If Borriello gets injured we have Pippo and Huntelaar. Pippo is now considered a replacement and he knows it, he's at the end of his career but Dzeko, Borriello and Huntelaar all want to play and we will never be able to satisfy all three of them even if Pippo leaves us or retires at the end of the season.

Dzeko cannot replace R80 or Seedorf. If they get injured we'll have a big problem with Dzeko in our squad or not. I don't think it would be less of a problem if we had him as he still would need someone to provide him with the right balls.

Well surely it won't last forever. But I can't see how Dzeko would help in that. A Seedorf replacement would. Maybe Di Gennaro can be that but he's still too undeveloped to do that. He needs time. Lots of.

Paloschi is another issue. What then with him? And Adiyah... I think we're more than covered in that attacking front. I can't see us going anywhere in the future with the full-backs we've got though. And if we're going to spend 30m on Dzeko we won't be getting any of those.

How can you be so sure? That's what I expect, I hope I'll be proven wrong.

Firstly simply because I refuse to believe that'll be our budget!

Secondly, we're participating in the CL, that counts for something, doesn't it? they say Fiorentina have about [don't remember the exact figure but it was surely more than 10-15 million] to spend in the WINTER transfer window. how can it be possible that our, AC Milan, summer budget will be as low as that?

I think we'll spend around 20-25 million at least.
kurtsimonw
We had better. There's certainly 2 or 3 additions that need to be made by us if we really want to compete with Inter. We all know that if this title race is close, they'll be spending huge sums of money to try and increase the gap again.
il_diavolo_mtl
i really think the need this off-season is getting a GK, another cb(behind bonnera) a LB/RB player and a Creative midfielder. Having said that, i expect us to go for the cheapest solutions on most of these decisions.

for the GK they will probably keep the same we got now, or get Andujar from a then relegated catania or Curci for a relegated siena(i woulnd't so mind curci at all, he has made wonderful saves for siena time and time again)

What i would wish for however, would be Mandanda from OM, who i find can be world class within the next 2-3 years. that being said, marchetti,curci,consigli wouldn't bother me in the least.

for the CB they will probably go with Aztori, which i have no quarrels with, so long as kaladzhe leaves

for LB/RB i hope we get rid of jankulovski and bring back darmian, who last i checked represented la nationale for his age group and has been doing well in pandova (or wtv team we shipped him too) also to be considered, albertazzi (the rossoneri's santon smile.gif )

for creative midfielder, i would sign Krasic, a rossoneri fan himself, he has proven to be worldclass for CSKA and i feel would Greatly make us less predictable in attack. This however won't be done because we will ride black turtle till he is 50. Also gattuso should leave, We have too many DMs on the squad and we need pace in midfield, which is IMO our glaring weakness. Krasic would provide that pace and burst into our midfield. that being said, no one will be sold and we will rely on di gennaro's developpement, which i don't so much mind, although i still think our age in midfield is discouraging.

In retrospec we will end up going for dzeko and sending klaas the other way, so long as he dsnt ***** and say no like he did to stuttgart (even though he may of been right not going there as they suck this year.

also, i feel the need to cash in on pirlo's name while it's still worth something, we can get a guy like modric for probably the same amount of money, i see no desire in the HO's plans to get youngerand i feel that'ss what we need to think about to be able to remain a top flight team. We desperately need pace in midfield.

Projected linup 2011

Klaas - Borriello
Ronnie-----------------Pato
Pirlo ---- Krasic
Zambrotta , Nesta, T. Silva, Abate

also i hope addiyiah can replace ronnie on the Left wing and we pawn ronnie off while he is worth something too, he is too slow for eurpean football, and especially with Serie A getting faster, we need to insure we keep with the trend
Darunia
Huntelaar and Borriello in the same lineup with Pato and Ronnie doesn't make sense to me. I'd prefer something like this

Ronnie Dzeko Pato
Krasic
Pirlo Flamini
LB Silva Nesta RB

I wasn't talking about a man-for-man replacement in the 4-3-3. We can even play a 4-2-3-1, with Dzeko, Pato and Abate playing behind Borriello.

This is the main reason why I want Dzeko in. He gives tactical options that few other players can. I have never been a fan of the pure 4-3-3. It's spectacular when it works, but it offers little variation. You saw it against Catania, you saw it against Zurich.

The best example is probably MvB's Holland in the Euros. They looked like favourites but were completely outclassed when they faced a team designed to blunt the 4-3-3.

Sadly it's the only formation we can play right now. A 4-3-1-2 with 2 DMs would shut us down. We've already seen what happens when Seedorf and R80 are marked tight.

My biggest fear is this is Italy, and I think in another 2 months, the 4-3-3 will be figured out. It took Italy 1 season to figure out Roma's 4-2-3-1 and I rate Spalletti very highly.
kurtsimonw
Could Dzeko play in a 3 in a 4-2-3-1? From what I've seen of him, he surely has to be the 1, much like Borriello and Huntelaar do. I don't think you can have all 3 of these at your club and keep them happy.
Jack Sparrow
No...he's one of those types. Remember I said he could be bigger than Zlatan (c0z what he lacks in skill, he more than makes up in attitude)...he can be both SS as well as sole striker. Can pass, can shoot. I'm not saying he's the best there is...but he can definitely improve and what he needs is a big team. Could be Rooney with muscles. biggrin.gif

He's an attacking wildcard.

-------Borriello---------
-Dzeko-------------Pato
------R80/Zee/Andy----

---------Boriello/KJH/Pippo------
-----Dzeko------------------------
---------------Zee/Andy P/R80-----

------Dzeko-------Pato---------
------------Zee/R80/Andy------

All of these can work in theory, and the coolest part is it gives us amazing options of rotation. In fact with Dzeko in, we could even shelve the plans for a Zee replacement, since we're able to rotate Zee, Andy P, R80 and Pato, without much loss of potency. Something we're unable to do now.

P.S: Reading the post, I think I might be a biased. But I love his game, and he reminds me of my old Sheva. cry.gif

First of all I can't believe people are saying no to Dzeko, its quite shocking really. You guys should search this guy up on you tube, he is better than pato!

but thats another topic, lets move on:

If i can recall, qualifying from the group stage gives us something like 5-6 million; I'm not exactly sure I'll have to search it up. Then the TV Deals for each round will come into effect, which is another 2-3 million per round approx.

So we have at least 10 million cash flow coming in directly. We also have recieved approx 500-600k each madrid game in the group stage and I'm guessing thats where the funding for Aidyiah has come from.

But lets leave the money issue alone for a second and lets look at our squad:

Goalkeepers:

Dida= Average
Storari= Average
Roma= Not good enough
Abbiati= Good

Center Defenders:
Nesta= World Class
T. Silva= World Class
Kaladze= Terrible
Bonera= Very good
Gooch= Unknown

Full backs:

Oddo=average
Zambrotta=good
Janku=average
Favalli=not good enough
Abate= Good
Antonini=Average

Midfield:

Flamini=Good
Ambrosini=Very good
Seedorf=Very good
Pirlo= World Class
Ronaldinho= World Class
Gattuso= Average/Good
Di Gennaro= Unknown

Forewards:

Pato= World Class
Borriello= Very good
Huntelaar= Good
Inzaghi= Average

Formation:

4-2-1-3

x---x---x---x
----x---x----
------x------
x-----x-----x

Issues:

Depth= Very poor. Our bench is hardly exists and it does not hold the potential to replace any of the key players.

---If nesta or T. Silva is injured, our middle starts to look incredibly weak.

---Our fullbacks are pretty much Zambrotta and Oddo. They are both over 30 and cannot be played every game. Abate and Antonini are not yet ready to take on the big guns. Janku is decent, but always a risk in defence. Favalli is 38.

---Midfield looks solid but the key players are required for it to function. If Ronaldinho or pirlo gets injured, the whole system and the team falls apart. We have virtually no depth here.

--Attack looks solid and has a strong depth. We have Huntelaar, Inzaghi, Pato, Borriello. This is the only category that is acceptable for a team of Milan's value.

Age= very poor. Our squad is too old. We need to replace some of the veterans with proper cover badly. Seedorf cannot play every game and neither can pirlo or ambrosini. Ronaldinho is going to be 30 this season as well.

Money= We have little or virtually no money from outside sources. What we get is what we get. We win the Serie A, we can spend somewhere around 30-40 million. Now I personally believe the club has money in its banks, probably around 30-50 million euros that has most probably emerged out of silvio's pockets. That is emergency money in-case sh*t happens and Galliani needs to fix it. But that money probably can't be used for just buying players.

Competitions= We are in Serie A, Champions league and Coppa Italia. The expectation for us is to do well in all 3 competitions and that will have a huge negative bearing on this squad. We don't have the depth or ability to last the long haul these competitions require and we will most defenitly break down sometime down the road due to fatigue or injury from overplaying.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Market:

Adiyiah=1.2 million E
Beckham= Loan Deal (1-2 million E)

Potential sales:

Gattuso=10-15 Million E

Money entering market: approx 10 million euros.

Targets we are linked with:

Dzeko= 30 million E
Astori=2 million E
Adriano=10 million E
Gago= 6 million E
Drenthe= 6 million E
Paloschi= 5 million E

Verdict: Good luck! Unless Galliani pulls some magic money out of his @ss or Gattuso is sold, we probably won't buy anyone this January.

Pato could also be sold come summer if we have no funds and if we need to fix major issues.
Jack Sparrow
No...nothing doing this Jan. I don't think Dzeko is coming this Jan either...unless we're offered Dzeko cutprice, because he's cup tied.

This Jan: Adiyiah + Beckham.

Summer is very complicated, I don't want to get into it now. But there are so many unresolved issues.

For starters we don't know how good: Gooch, Di Gennaro, Paloschi, Adiyiah, Darmian, Albertazzi are. Until we do, we might be making a mistake signing 'unnecessary cover'.

I'm with Bluey. We should get Dzeko. I think there are few players in the world who are young and can do what he does. And I think he's good enough to warrant a change in tactics. You can search for Dzeko all goals 2009 on youtube.

Is he better than Pato? I'm not interested. Can he complement Pato? Hell yes!!! Both of them can run, both of them can dribble (Pato slightly better) and Dzeko is a big guy with technique.

And having Dzeko + Borriello would work great against bus parking teams. Big mobile target men are rare in today's football and as and when available we should snap them up. If nothing, they'll net a profit when you sell them.

and this is our fundamental problem. We also have Zigoni and Baretta, who are very highly rated. Zigoni is probably one of the top youth strikers in europe.

Therefore, if we buy players....whats going to happen to these guys?

Thats is why we were reluctant in the market last year. We expected Abate to slot to RB or RW and perform and he's done so. We'd expected Di Gennaro to replace seedorf and perform, and injuries have gotten in the way of that. We now have Adiyiah who can replace Ronaldinho or pato. We also have Darmian returning from loan next year, Albertazzi who is probably one of the greatest 17 year old CB in the world and finally we have Paloschi who needs no intro.

Very difficult decisions to make. Sell kids in co-owns or permanent deals and buy established players? Or take the risk on the kids and save money.

Dzeko: "Milan are in constant contact with the Wolfsburg"
08.12.2009 18.46 by Alessandro Barge Article read 785 times
Source: milannews.it

Agent Dzeko, Irfan Redzepagic, interviewed by the Daily Telegraph revealed that Wolfsburg is in contact with AC Milan since last summer: "The contacts between Milan and Wolfsburg go back until the last season." The prosecutor confirmed that the player will not move before in June: "At the moment there are no conditions for a transfer. The player has a contract with Wolfsburg and when can I exclude a transfer in January." No Manchester United or Arsenal for the moment, therefore, for the Bosnian striker, who, in June, expects only Milan.

edit:

In my previous post I said we would recieve around 10 million. That is incorrect. An article on Milannews.it says that we have recieved 20 million for going to knockout round.

So perhaps we might be getting another player or we might save it for Dzeko come summer.

News:

It seems the list for Dzeko has grown quite large.

Juve have offered 25 million plus Tiago.

Inter are interested and would be willing to pay the 30 million tag.

Manu and Arsenal are also interested.

Man city already had a bid declined by Dzeko.

This is getting crazy, I hope we act soon sad.gif

News:

Also Berlu recently said that he doesn't know what the outcome of the gattuso case will be but he hopes he stays.

Abate is now the Target

Arab City laugh.gif are keeping a close eye on AC Milan full-back Ignazio Abate with a view to making a January move, according to a report from the daily camel.

Mark Hughes, is reportedly interested in acquiring a defender in the January transfer window as he makes preparations to implement his new formation, the 4-0-6.

The 23-year-old is a versatile defender who can also play in midfield. He is currently on the fringes of the Italian national squad, having already played for his country at Under-21 level and in the Olympics. But Lippi is retarted and is too stubborn to give this young players a chance.

A right-sided, pacy player, Abate's arrival would surely pose questions about the future of the overrated and overpaid big time flop Micah Richards.

There is no indication yet as to the potential size of the fee involved, But you know its going to be large, arab city splash the cash baby!

are you serious? I mean if they offered this would you accept?

I was being sarcastic. I reckon Micah Richards means as much to Man City as Abate does to us. He's their Santon. Their best hopes of getting an NT player.

no i mean, imagine they made a bid like that. Would you accept it if you were in G's role? just curious wink.gif
Jack Sparrow
Naah...I don't rate Micah Richards. If they offered anything greater than 30 million, I would consider it though. Abate is already 23 and while good, I don't see anything to suggest future world player of the year.

Capello should be sacked immediately if he calls Richards upto the England squad. He looked very promising, he had all the raw talent when he was 17/18, but instead of trying to improve, he just added as much muscle as he could to his body. He still hasn't improved his footballing ability at all.

(Wayne Bridge and Shaun Wright Phillips also play for Citeh, so I don't think Richards is their best chance of an England player.)
Jack Sparrow
Oh yes...I'd forgotten about SWP and Bridge. Well Richards is in with the most opportunity...there is a big hole at RB for them...and he has so much potential....i daresay he'd do much better in Man U with SAF's direction.

I personally don't see why everyone wants Dzeko so desperately. Yes, he's a very good player, excellent striker. But I wouldn't even say that he's without a doubt the best striker in the Bundesliga. I've seen him in many games (live and on TV) and don't doubt his class. But he won't be Milans saviour like some here claim. He will add options to our attack, true. But I agree with tennie that our problems in midfield are much more severe.
Also, about those youtube-clips. They're as meaningful as car ads.

My point exactly. The Invincibles and The Immortals neither had 'saviours'. What they had was un-F@ckin-believable options...and for me Dzeko is one of them.

We should stop thinking in terms of the magic component who will make our whole team click, and instead find the magic team composition, which will ensure we keep winning.

I agree FB cannot wait. However on the CM, I think Dzeko would remove that need. I'm against buying a CM as a stop gap. I'd rather we wait till a top class one is available.

In my view it's ten times better and more important to have options in midfield, where we have none.

I agree. I want a great midfield player or two.
Jack Sparrow
Honestly..I would like one too. But I don't see any pound for pound replacements for Zee or Pirlo. While I see more than a replacement for any of our strikers in Dzeko. When you don't have money to spend, it's stupid to spend it on band-aid replacements.
Bluesummers
DI G should be available soon, that will provide us with options. If gattuso is sold, thats another mid right there.

I want to sell Hunt or Borri and get Dzeko. He would be sooo goooood wub.gif and you know he will bust his balls for the team considering he would bleed for this shirt.
