i doubt we land robinho...
rafinha/hernanes/dzeko could cool, but i agree with vnata Criscito is the BEST LB IN SERIE A!!! he rocks my socks and we should mount a strike on genoa, taking their coach, criscito and put mesto RB smile.gif

It can't be Hernanes and Rafinha, we only have one non EU spot open, so its pointless, I'd prefer Hernanes, we really need that something in midfield. there are a lot of talented fullbacks in Serie A that we could get we don't need to go for another Brazilian

One thing that bothers me about the whole "Dzeko might be coming soon" thing is the Hunter

Why exactly did we spend money on Hunter if we are supposedly going to get Dzeko. Arent we a poor club? how can we afford both, when we cant even afford a promising LB?

I can picture Galliani making something up like "We dont need Dzeko, we have a champion like Huntelaar, and besides Wolfsburg were asking too much. They wanted 18m Euros, but our absolute maximum was 17.5m Euros. We refuse to be held to ransom and have abandoned negotiations. Instead we will sign Luca Toni on a 7 year contract worth 8m Euros per season"

Dzeko would be signed assuming that we've given up on R80 ever coming good. Secondly, Dzeko is a very prudent investment.

With R80, Zee, Abate in the wings we're looking at a rather potent attack.

I don't see us signing Dzeko AND Hernanes though. At least not in the same window.

UM Dzeko allredy pen the precontract with Milan back in Sumer, in precontract is defined that he can't go to other club expect Milan. That precontract is vallid untill 31.12.2009

You have a source verifying this? I've never heard a thing about it. Why is he still pining to come to Milan if he's already signed a pre-contract?
Jack Sparrow
Coz he kinda hoped that Milan would be nice enough to land him in the summer.

Damir's source is the best there is I think. Dzeko himself. tongue.gif

No he doesn't, if you remember when Rafinho was heavily linked to Juve and the press had the deal all but done, the Juver director came out and said that the deal cannot happen as Juve don't have any non EU places left.

I took this to meen that the player does not have an EU passport...

2 words Panich Buy

The fans were getting restless, they couldn't afford to come out of the summer window without atleast one quality buy, so Galliani went to his good friend Perez, who at that point was getting desperate to offload some players from the massive squad he had and they cut a good deal for Huntelaar

Yeah, thats what i initially thought, but then when did Galliani care what supporters thought? Personally if i was Galliani and i knew that Dzeko would be arriving in January then i would not have brought in Hunter, i would have spent the money on a defender or midfielder.

Hunter cost what, 16m Euros? i believe Cissoko was going for a similar price, if we brought Cissoko now and Dzeko later, we wouldnt be screwed like we are now

I get that feeling that we will cheap out on Dzeko and then the club will say we dont need him we have Huntelaar

Considering Pippo's age and the fact that we'll probably let go of Borriello if Dzeko arrives I think Huntelaar is going to be more than useful in the maybe-not-so-near future.

Um it's pre-contract signed in June, but it's not wroth if Milan don't want to spend 20 Mil € on Dzeko, player want to come but it's club that was not wiling to let him go. If Wolfsburg end CL group stage untill January Dzeko will beacome Milan player if not we will have to wait untill summer...

Dzeko - Huntelaar

Pato

Pirlo - Flamini - Abate

LB (criscito smile.gif ) - Nesta - Thiago Silva - RB (rafinha smile.gif )

We bought a RB? While in summer we were looking for a LB. huh.gif

They are different. You don't just go out on the market and say I want a fullback. Besides Oddo started looking better in Marseille. What if by December he's as good as the Oddo who played for us in the 2006-07 season!

Basically I would have preferred a LB is what I meant to say.

We were reportedly looking at De Silvestri (RB) and Bale (LB)... you probably did not notice but it was crazy right from the start. We were always after a fullback... just like that, we did not care who or where. It's crazy. We bought and let go of Cissokho but then De Silvestri was the one mentioned even by Leo.

In my view Oddo is still at that level which is a level of mediocrity and exactly why we're looking to replace him...

Its verbal. The fee was already set a while back. But were not the only club in it. Magath mentioned bayern a while back, so were going to have to fight for this one.

Raf fee=8-12m---A huge bargain imo. Yes there is italian options out there but he is by far the best Fullback option we have and at that price we should not hesitate. He's 23 and is the next alves.

As Han said earlier, he doesn't have his eu pass (my bad) so its either him or dzeko. Personally I think rafinha is more important in January and Dzeko can come in the summer market. That will give us time to take out the trash.

Also, we dont' need to worry about dzeko deal. He's pretty much set his mind on Milan. No other club really has a chance unless we say we don't want him.

I'm pretty sure Bayern have backed out of the deal completely. The deal was announced and then called off. LaPalma, what can you add on this?

Rafinha would be great. But above all, I think we need a midfielder. A utility player if you will, someone who can run for 90 mins and ignites the team. This, considering Gattuso is already in his 30s, injury prone and past his prime.

I heard Hernanes's name affiliated with us on here before, but I would rather we go for an Italian and someone proven at that.

Sulley Muntari's Inter Future Uncertain - Agent
The Inter midfielder's future at the club is no longer certain after his woeful showing against Barcelona...

This afternoon Inter will face Cagliari at the Stadio Sant'Elia without midfielder Sulley Muntari, who was not called up by coach Jose Mourinho after his poor performance against Barcelona in the Champions League.

Now there are rumours the Ghanaian international will leave the club in the near future. The player was disappointed to be left out for this game, although during a recent discussion with transfer guru Marco Branca, he could have already gotten a hint that his situation has changed, as revealed by his agent Fabien Piveteau.

"Sulley has hard a time in the last two weeks, but from next week the situation should stabilise," he said, as quoted by Goal.com Italia.

"His future? Until fifteen days ago he seemed unsellable, now I don't know, we'll have to evaluate everything in the next few months."

Tottenham Hotspur manager, Harry Redknapp is known to have been following the player for some time, and may attempt to bring the 25-year-old to move to White Hart Lane.

Danilo Pochini, Goal.com

droolsmiley.gif i would take him in a heartbeat, he can completely replace ambro/rino as he is a strong tackler with great crosses and a wicked shot (although we already have flamini) we really would do well to take him of inter's hands smile.gif

Bayern pulled out because shalke asked too much. But magath earlier this month said he'll probably be sold to bayern in January. But were not the only club linked with him. Barca are linked with him as well some english clubs. If his price tag drops, it'll be a war for his signature.

In a way but not really. Mourinho is already worldclass, he can get a job anywhere. Its in general. People are slowly realizing that players don't always make the best coaches. England and Germany have realized this the most while Italy and Spain are lagging behind in Europe.

They say the biggest problems with these player coaches who try to coach the top levels are this:

1) They are too used to the system. They lose that outside the box/fresh idea attitude. They start doing things that are repititve and work; what they have esentially seen or been taught. That no longer is enough to be a coach.

2) A coach is not just one job, but 100 different little jobs put into one. Not all players can get used to being counceller/coach/friend/father figure etc etc..

3) Tactics are something that are learned over years with personal values and fundamentals added to fully develop them. A player who is used to playing a system for several years may have alot of trouble understanding and adapating many different systems, while a person who hasn't generally has a very strong background in this section.

4) The drive for success. A player who has had the greatest success may not have the same motivation as someone who hasn't been there before. That is why Mourinho is so successful, his drive and concentration are unreal. His passion unmatched.

Anyways there are more points in favor and against this... But these are the big ones which I've come to learn.
Jack Sparrow
Besides Sacchi, how many top coaches can you name who were never players. It's not necessary that he must have been a top player, but I think it's very very important that he's played at some level.

That was in the past. Things are changing slowly Jack. By January any coach who wants to coach a top flight Club needs a UEFA A lisence. Furthermore, they must take this exam and pass it. They can no longer do what Leo did and get a buy through. Also believe me many will fail that exam; as things are looking I'm guessing Leo would have as well

Second they are developing coaching schools and programs. For example for my country, Fifa is opening a coaching program in University of Toronto and University of British columbia where you can get a degree or certifcate in coaching.

They are trying to open up the market and integrate more competition for coaching because its a market that is heavily changing and there are alot of Jobs which need good qualified coaches while not enough qualified coaches exist. A lot of them highly paid as well and i'm not even talking Serie A or premiership.

In Canada, if you have a basic liscence which is the UEFA C liscence you can get paid $1000 per team per month.

Thats in CANADA!!!! In the united States they pay anywhere from $3-5000 per team per month. These aren't even pro teams or colleges, these are just average club teams.

Olympique Lyonnais full-back Aly Cissokho has revealed that his move to Milan fell through because of a financial dispute between the Rossoneri and Porto, and not because of a failed medical examination.

The player almost joined the Rossoneri from Porto this summer, but the transfer collapsed when the Italian giants announced the player had failed his medical because of a problem with his teeth. The former Vitoria Setubal player later joined the French outfit for €15 million.

"There were no dental problems. The two clubs contested the [financial] figures of the deal in the last minute," he suggested in an interview with UEFA's official website.

"There were problems with the payment of bonuses that saw the move fall through. I could not do anything about it. The discussions and negotiations were conducted properly in my absence."

However, the 22-year-old does not hold a grudge against the Rossoneri and has tipped them to challenge for the Champions League title.

"It's hard to know if Lyon will go far. I only say we have a united squad with talented players. To advance, we must win all our home matches," he continued with reference to his new club's chances in the Champions League.

"Other teams who are candidates for victory? Milan, they have a winning mentality."

AC Milan Tracking Corinthians Full-Back Alisson Veloso Ricardo - Report
Despite the solid performances of Ignazio Abate, Milan are still looking to sign a new player in the right-back role.

When Leonardo was appointed AC Milan's new coach, he revealed that the contribution of the full-backs would be fundamental to his playing philosophy.

However, the hesitation on the transfer market by the club's hierarchy has forced him to count on the almost discarded Massimo Oddo and to convert midfielder Ignazio Abate into that particular role.

Abate's performance in the match against Bologna was very encouraging, prompting transfer guru Adriano Galliani to name him the 'new Cafu', but the Rossoneri have not given up on their hunt to sign a full-back.

Milan are looking for a player capable of providing defensive cover as well as coming forward. According to O Globo, the club are tracking Corinthians right-back Alisson Veloso Ricardo.

The choice will probably have to be made between Ricardo and Schalke 04 star Rafinha, who has been linked with the Rossoneri for most of the summer.

According to Novantesimo.it, Juventus and Milan could once again go head-to-head for a player; this time, over Bolton defender Gary Cahill.

Cahill has been valued at €10million, but the competing clubs could place offers in excess of this in order to secure his services.

The 23-year-old has already played for the English national team, under the guidance of Italian coach Fabio Capello.

He was set to leave Bolton over the summer transfer window, even though he had signed with his team recently, after coming across from Aston Villa.

It has been noted that Milan are in search of young defenders to replace the ageing stoppers currently on their list, whilst Juventus are also wanting to improve their defence, and signed several key men at the back over the summer to help.

Gary Cahill is a fantastic defender, he really is. He has a very good chance of going to the World Cup next year as he's probably next in line behind Terry, Ferdinand and Upson. Hes better than Lescott as he doesn't make the mistakes he does. Letting Cahill go was a tough decisio n for Villa, it was clear he was going to be great, but he wanted first team football which was something we couldn't guarentee with Laursen and Mellberg at the club. He'll be top 4 quality within the next few years.
