Because it's misleading to post 'news' that comes from a glorified version of AIM instant messaging. And this particular thread is turning into a gossip column as it is.

As for the multiple posts in a row, it's something we can ALL try not to do quite so muhc. I know I'm guilty of it sometimes too but it does clutter the place up. So, please. If you've got 9 news items, make a really big monster post, not 9 posts. I'll try to do the same.

oh i've got no problem with what he said, I can do that; its just the fact that he decides to say something now after being absent for so long and he decides to say only to me huh.gif When its clear we have many members here who do multi posts.

Also the "your grandma line"....really should a mod be saying that laugh.gif

Also on the winter transfer thread, nowhere does it say it has to be reliable offical sources. I'm just posting anything regarding to milan and people can filter through it as they like. Sometimes even I filter through the source my self such as some of the stuff from goal.com

This place is a free press and it should be left as so. Who are we that we can say what is considered a reliable source or not. Anything goes and let the people decide. Power to the people!

I'm about ready to scream due to the incessant pining for Dzeko. Why, you ask? Well, management finally gave in to the fans' demand that we sign Huntelaar. Twelve matches, zero goals and one disappearing act later, there's a reason why they get paid to pick the players and we don't.

I couldn't disagree more.

Firstly, 12 matches would be more than 1000 minutes. Huntelaar has not even played half of that amount.

Secondly, he got his chances when we were having our worst days this season. no need to say that he hasn't been given any real chances since we've started playing better football!

And finally, have you forgotten about all those crap players the management got us, who did nothing but flop? what do you mean there's a reason why they get paid to pick the players and we don't ?

Don't get me wrong, I'm not a die hard Hunter fan and I would gladly exchange him for a striker with a playing style that suits us. but I think he's being treated unfairly. almost all of us wanted Leo out too cause we thought he couldn't handle it, remember?

Well, sometimes people come here thinking that the transfer thread might be useful. In its current state, I don't think it is. It's my judgment and I'm free to make it.

And it's also my right to say that I think goal.com and twitter are useless sources and that anything posted from/linked from there isn't worth the effort of reading. Free speech works both ways.smile.gif

AC Milan in Velez Sarsfield talks for Otamendi

AC Milan are keeping tabs on Velez Sarsfield defender Nicolas Otamendi.

Milan have already met with Otamendi's representatives and with the club, says calciomercato.com.

AC Milan are willing to offer £12 million for Otamendi, who doesn't carry an EU passport. A likely January deal is expected to see the youngster remain with Velez on-loan for the second-half of the season.

Of all the youngsters we were chasing, this is the bloke on whom I could find most info. He's actually got a wiki page which runs into more than one paragraph!!

Goal.com World Player of the Week #9: NICOLAS OTAMENDI
Club: Velez Sarsfield
Age: 21
Role: Defender
Achievement: Starring for his club side en route to their Clausura champonship

Goal.com's ninth World Player of the Week award goes to a young defender with his hands on a trophy.

Nicolas Otamendi, still just 21, put in a star showing in the Clausura this season, culminating in a solid performance against Huracan in the title decider last week.

Since then admirers have flocked to him as he looks to take his career to the next level.

Speaking exclusively to Goal.com Latin America before that decisive match, the stopper was asked to comment on his future.

"I hope to continue playing at my current level, and with respect to the European sides looking at me, I try not to let it bother me.

"At this point I want to think about winning the title with Velez, and my agent will take care of the rest."

With the title now in his pocket, what will be next? Will he tread the well-worn path from Liniers to Europe, one walked by Carlos Bianchi, Mauricio Pellegrino, Diego Simeone and Mauro Zarate?

Time will tell, but for now he's already looking like a star in the making - and one who hasn't escaped the notice of national team boss Diego Maradona.

Congratulations to Nicolas Otamendi, our ninth Goal.com World Player of the Week!

Rumours are now circulating that Manchester United have entered the picture, and are closely monitoring the starlet. Milan and Juventus have also been linked with showing an interest in the Dane.

"Neither Manchester United, nor any other European club have asked for Kjaer," insisted the Rosanero president to Sky.

"The voices about his departure were started up by his agent, who is trying to earn some extra money."

Despite the assurances that Kjaer will not be leaving Sicily any time soon, Zamparini revealed the asking price for the defender, should anyone be interested.

"Our defender, in any case, costs €12 million, but in January, he is surely not going anywhere," Zamparini added.

am I the only who thinks 2m is still alot for dida?

I think its ok, its not our money, but if they manage to half not only Dida's wage but also Kala's that would be another 4m that could be used as a wage for a top quality player. Dida has shown us in the last few games that he's still good enough to keep around as a back up. 2m is the average wage our bench players are getting. If Galliani and Co are happy paying them that then I don't care. As long as they don't jeopardise future signings because of these wages then I'm ok with it

Blue, you are not listing your sources once again. You told Tennie that you should have freedome to post whatever news you want here and I agree with you, but do not forget your sources. If people don't know where you're getting your news from they won't know whether its legit or just the usual garbage from goal/tribal and that will cause the usual histeria an mud slinging.

Listing the sources is not that hard or time consuming to do.

I don't want to be an @sshole to you or anyone else, but I will delete any news posts that don't have sources, because this issue is going to escalate and blow up into something that will split the forum. So if this is the step I need to take to stop it from happening, then I'll do it. Tennie always looks like the bad guy and fun killer because she's asking you to do something that is not fun or cool. So I'm not going to tell anyone nicely about sources I'll just delete posts, maybe that will finally do the trick.

I'm not telling you this through PM because everyone needs to know and has to follow this guideline, no one is picking on you or targeting you if that's what you're thinking

We're not going to spend £12m on a young CB! Why are we so heavily linked with CB's anyway? We already have Nesta and Silva, how are we going to satisfy another first team player?

I don't see the point. If Bonera ever becomes fit again he's a more than capable backup, so bringing in somebody else will cause more problems than anything.

Good points.

For one I no longer think Kaladze is considered in plans for the future.

That leaves us with Bonera and Onyewu as back up. Which is nice.

However, I think we cannot discount the fact that Nesta might not play as long as Maldini. 2-3 years max. So we'd soon need to look for someone to partner Silva in the centre.

Perhaps it's best to buy either Kjaer or this bloke now, before some other bigger clubs land him or his price increases due to a bidding war. But yes, he's not a priority.

Feel free to post whatever you want. But don't react inappropriate when someone critizeses your sources. Also, please make sure to quote AND visualize your sources.
My personal opinion on this is that it makes no sense to quote articles, interviews from sources who aren't reliable or obviously wrong. Tons of news don't help anyone. Quality is more important than quantity here. You can attack me for my opinion if you want to or go on with your pseudo-democratic set-phrases but that's what I think on this matter. It doesn't have anything to do with you personally, I simply think that even a forum like this has a responsibility not to post any false information.
Also, a forum for a football club is not the right place for a phrase like "Power to the people". It's an affront against those who really suffer from dictatorship.

HSV want Huntelaar

According to a report in German newspaper Bild, Bundesliga outfit Hamburg have added their name to the list of admirers of Milan striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar.

The Dutch international has failed to make an impact at the Rossoneri since joining them from Real Madrid last summer. Huntelaar has yet to score his first Serie A goal.

The former Ajax hitman recently announced that he's eager to prove his worth at Milan and that he's not yet thinking about leaving the club. However, the Rossoneri are widely expected to offload the 26-year-old if a good offer comes in.

'The Hunter' has already been linked with clubs such as Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur, and HSV have now joined that group.

The Rothosen are eager to add a new attacker to their squad in the upcoming transfer window due to the lengthy injury absences of strikers Paolo Guerrero and Mladen Petric.

HSV kept tabs on Huntelaar last summer, but a transfer never materialised due to Real Madrid's financial demands.

He is a very complicated man. - Has said Nani - When things go well, treats you with respect, otherwise you are placed in a corner. It 'happened to me, that's enough. If things do not change I could leave the United.

Krasic snubs all other offers to choose Milan

Milan rubs the magic lamp and the 'genius' fulfills his desire. Milos Krasic has recommended to choose the Devil as his next destination snubbing the other offers. A favor which, if everything was successful, the team would benefit much of Leonardo.

Exterior thrust CSKA Moscow has so impressed the last match of the Champions at Old Trafford (scoring a goal) that Manchester began to court him. As shown in the 'News of the World', on Krasic there are several top European clubs but his compatriot Dejan Savicevic advised him to choose the Serie A, specifically Milan.

Dejan Savicevic: "Personally, I would see him very well at Milan - said the Genius - which could have a major impact. Has the right characteristics for the Italian championship, coming from another league like the Russian tactical and being young and fast. "

Krasic has therefore all the papers in order for Milan, and if this comes from someone like Savicevic, is to be believed.

Sevilla Star Luis Fabiano Unconcerned About Transfer Rumours

Sevilla striker Luis Fabiano has played down the transfer rumours linking him with a move to England or Italy, where a number of Europe's elite clubs are believed to be keeping tabs on him.

The Brazilian has told the Italian media that a move does not interest him for the moment, as he is happy with his role in Manolo Jimenez's side.

"I'm honestly not thinking about the rumours that say I want to leave," he insisted to Itasportpress.

"I'm doing well here, I'm happy with Sevilla's season because my performances in the league and the Champions League have been positive so far.

"For now, my attentions are focused on Sevilla. In the future, if I can move to Italy or England, I will evaluate it in due course."

The 29-year-old has been in fine form for los Nervionenses so far this season, scoring ten goals in 13 games in all competitions. He was strongly linked with a move to Milan during the summer, although the Rossoneri eventually chose to buy Klaas-Jan Huntelaar instead of the Brazilian.

Official from the boss himself:

QUOTE
AC Milan Chief Executive Adriano Galliani has declared: "I am very sorry that we have sold 16.000 season tickets less than last year; I want to write to all this fans that have not renewed and inform them that starting from the second part of the season we will sell a special ticket valid for ten games.

I am doing this not to earn some million euros but because it's too sad to see only 40.000 people for the game against Roma. Leonardo? Berlusconi is happy about how the team is playing. With 4 offensive players is normal to risk something, but we also create many chances to score.

Dida? It's funny to thik that some months ago I was considered the one that has wasted money to renew his contract, Huntelaar? He is confirmed as well as the rest of the team. If I would rather win the title by overtaking Inter and Juventus at the last game or obtaining the eighth Champions League?

No doubts about it, there are no sports where the Italian title is more important than the European one. Moratti? We are the club who has won the most in the whole world, we don't answer to anybody".

so hunt is not moving.

It would be silly to move him on so soon.....109 goals in 138 games for Ajax...8 goals in 20 games for Madrid....he has class just needs time to settle and i'm sure he will turn out to be a great buy!
