Oops. CMF is right. He's co-owned by the gobbi. My bad. -1 cookie for me. (Good catch, zd).

There's more talk about Katsouranis and a possible transfer in the Italian media.

Various left backs are mentioned as possibilities in mediaset: Pasqual, Campagnaro, Dossena and Heinze.

as gallaini mentioned LB the press was bound to give all these names

We need a flying LB. Il Concorde 2 is what we need. However every time Galliani says top LB, I get the picture of Roberto Carlos in my mind. unsure.gif

Well...Janku did rather well in midfield from what everyone has said. The whole top-level left-back still has me a little perplexed. I have no idea who he's talking about, if there is anyone in particular they're looking at.

Hopefully they're just waiting until June for the Really Good Centerback purchase, when prices are likely to be lower.

Yeah, hopefully. because something tells me Thiago will be the only [good] signing for the center. just like we thought there would be more than Pato in attack, and no one else came...

"An important player, a player of the highest level who plays in the role of a left full-back"

Do you think he is that? wink.gif
Tennie
Not really. But then again, with Thiago Silva, we have no idea if he's capable playing defense at a Serie A level.

Fishdoll is still working on his ninja plan to kidnap Chiellini. biggrin.gif Perhaps Essie could help?

I see one name - Phillip Lahm. There are other options as well, but this one is above all.
whoarethepatriots
So long as Ancelotti is at Milan our Primavera will never flourish, so can those thoughts of Darmian. We have been linked with Bovo recently. He was pretty highly rated a few years back but i would prefer Raggi over him

I thought of it too. But Bayern with Klinsi at the helm wouldn't wish to release Lahm would they? This is why Roberto Carlos is the only name I can think of. sad.gif

Dossena...sure...but Liverpool is so f@cked up, they'll probably try to wring a profit from selling him to us. The only person Liverpool will sell for cheap is Pennant.

Do you think we might break the bank and go for Clichy? Would Arsenal reject 15 mill for Clichy?
Fillipo Simone
I'm not so sure. They seem to be obsessed with Lell, who's a poor player in fact. On the other hand we could hand them Oddo and cash. They'd be reasonable I think.

I can't see Lahm leaving Bayern for Milan, Bayern are a better team than Milan at the moment, plus he'd be leaving his home country to do so.

Pennant turned Madrid down already this season.. blink.gif

I think Arsenal would sell, they always sell their best players now, no wonder they can't win anything, they're turning into a feeder club.
Fillipo Simone
We had german LB's in the past. Ziege for example. It could happen. It's been really a while since we've had a german in our time. Too long.

de silvistre of lazio is LB

im pretty sure he's mostyl right footed and wouldnt do well on the left side, and he's natural position is RB i'm100% positive.

my pick would be pranjic, i like the guy.

Sure!

I seriously think of Chiellini as one of the 3 best CBs in the world, if not the 1st. I had my doubts last season, but not anymore. he is Nesta/Cannavaro's heir in the Azzurri. unfortunately he loves Juve, and Juve fans love him so even the stupidity of their management isn't enough for us to get him...

I'd like to see him in Milan. even though whether his physique is good enough for playing in Serie A is still a question mark for me.

+1

We lack their kind of discipline and commitment in our team.
KillerMax
I think I'm the only one who doesn't want Chiellini in Milan. He is an icon for them, I don't want to take that away from them unless something unusual happens to them (financial crisis, Serie B...). But there is a flip side to that coin... IF he is open to the idea himself, then I would not hesitate for a second.

as far as lb's go, Pasqual apparently only wants to come on a sale, not a loan.

Pasqual from Viola being mentioned

None of the names mentioned are "of the highest level" except maybe for Lahm and that is a very unlikely target.

I know he's flopped. but if he has potential, why not? Gila was a flop in Milan and now is Serie A's top scorer.

Everyone thinks it is Zartoshti; but it's Persian.

Thanks btw!

I can't wait for Gourcuff to come bak..Seedorf is already 33...Gourcuff should be inserted into the team the way kaka was when he benched Rui Costa...Costa was also playing good at that time but kaka was better..so is Gourcuff..he's better than seedorf now and so he needs to be inserted into our team...
Tennie
Interesting thought, Kenny. I'm not sure I agree with your assertion that Gourcuff is now better than Seedorf. He's doing very well in France but the French league isn't the same as Serie A.
gal_kenny
I'm not only talking about french ligue..i'm talking about champions league...He performed against chelsea, roma, lyon, cluj, almost all the clubs...I mean like MOTM performances...also international matches, world cup qualifiers...If we were to mentions players that top the chart for 2008, Gourcuff would be part of it and def not seedorf..seedorf's inconsistent and i'm sure u can agree wiv me tennie...can't count how many time Seedorf's been abused fa being slow and playin poorly this year and beyond..I need and want gourcuff to come bak and emerson and favalli and a lot more to leave..(sometimes i feel like slapping Carlo to open his eyes to realise n see wat we d fans are seeing)..
Tennie
I may be a minority of one (+1 fishdoll) but I just don't agree about Gourcuff suddenly being the Second Coming. I just don't see whatever it is you guys do.

Has Seedorf been inconsistent? Yep. But so has pretty much every other player on the team, with the possible exception of Abbiati, who has surprised me with his relatively good performance this year.

I'll concede that Emerson's contract is one I wouldn't necessarily renew. Gonna disagree again about Favalli - he's an excellent squad player who, like others, has had his bad days. But he's also had his very good days (ie, Udinese). He's not meant to be a starter; he's played as much as he has because of the bad injuries for the centerbacks.

Of the young mids out on loan, I'd prefer to bring back Abate.
gal_kenny
u don't suggest milan to bring bak Gourcuff?
Tennie
Honestly? No. I'd rather sell him (preferably to someone NOT in A) for lots of money and buy a really good centerback.
gal_kenny
Dang..that's hard...i mean he'll bring a lot of money to us and he needs to play for us.. he fits well with the positiion Xavi plays in Barca but this time he'll actually be in milan..i just don't want him to be sold..he's really good..or he'll be very good in the future and we'll regret..i mean we always do...
Tennie
He may fit into the xavi position but Milan isn't Barcelona and I see no reason to emulate that team. smile.gif I just don't think Gourcuff is a world beater and don't particularly think Milan is the best fit for him.
gal_kenny
well..i guess we both want the best for him and milan..its not up to us to make the decision whether he'll come back or not...
Tennie
No, s'not our decision.smile.gif And I know I hold what is very much a minority opinion on this particular topic so please do feel free to disagree with me about gourcuff.
CrazyMilanFan
corrie again suggesting dossena name
CrazyMilanFan
as for yoann if we use him for a exchange for a player who is better than yoann then i would be fine but if we let him go only for money then then IMO that would be a bad move
Zed.D
I have never doubted Yoann's talent and I think if he can live up to his real potential, he could be easily as good as Seedorf in the future. but there is another issue: his confidence. I still have doubts over that tbh. I know he's done great things in Lyon, even in front of world class teams. but what if he's not meant for a big club, like Gila? what if he returned and failed to impress again? I dunno... I'd probably give him to Roma and take Mexes. we need a good defender much more than we need a midfielder.

BUT if this is Carlo's last season with Milan then I'd being him back. he may flourish under another coach, like Rijkaard or Spalletti. if there's one thing I have absolutely no doubt about, it's that it's too hard for youngsters to play well for Carlo.

Becks boots hint at secret clause?

Wednesday 31 December, 2008

David Beckham is the centre of attention in Dubai amid reports his return to LA Galaxy is not as clear-cut as first thought.

Milan’s training camp over the winter break has seen Becks photographed and watched in detail by the media, who spotted his interesting new boots.

Along with the usual marks representing the names of his three children, they also sported the Milan club symbol and on the right boot the Italian flag with the English flag on the left.

This is a new development in Beckham’s career and, according to the Corriere dello Sport newspaper, fuels speculation the March 9 return to LA Galaxy is not set in stone.

The paper maintains that there is a secret clause in his contract allowing him to rescind with the MLS side whenever he wants, paving the way for a permanent switch to San Siro.

Another piece of writing caught the attention, as Beckham was sporting a new tattoo on his left arm. The Hebrew proverb translates as: ‘My son, do not forget my teaching but keep my commands in your heart.’

I'm doubtful that it's going to be only 3 months. first he says it'd be hard to leave Milan and that he wants to play in the CL again, and now this...

I think he will remain! since he's never been afraid of making controversial decisions, he could easily snub LA Galaxy for Milan. we'll see...

You're also forgetting his earlier statement that he wanted to join Milan (along with R99) when they left Madrid. According to him, he was pretty darn close in coming here, but then decided to join LA Galaxy. innocent.gif I smell a fish, and a very rotten one at that.

Of course, he'll be more than welcome if he can perform in these 3 months! Let's see.
