Guti's through ball for Ramos was sheer class! I totally despise the guy (Guti) but it does not matter; this move was the best of the first round, it was just brilliant!

Did anybody hear Wengers comments after his game last night? First of all he says it shouldn't have been a penalty against them. I don't know about you, but dragging someone to the floor from behind is generally seen as a foul. Then he criticised the lack of added on time, as he fouls his team would have gone on to win the game if the correct amount was added on. Oh, and in a shocking surprise, he forgot to mention their 90th minute equaliser was offside. And people wonder why I hate the guy. rolleyes.gif

Oh, and I saw the Celtic highlights earlier. Samaras went through, was fouled from behind.. then the Italian referee sent off the wrong person. laugh.gif

Really? He had the nerve to complain after that awful game by his players?! Arsenal were lucky not to lose, he should let go...
The penalty? The player that won it did that cheating move that Pippo does and I absolutely hate. You can see that he grabs Sagna with his left hand and pulls him down and it looks like the defender is the one that's pushing him. I think it was not a penalty but I do not expect the ref to see that in regular play...
Arsenal's goal? You mean Gallas was offside, right? I did not see the replay of that.

Really? laugh.gif The wrong player was red-carded?

Has anyone considered that it might not be so horribly bad to support (for example) Juve in the champions league because if they focus THERE, they may focus less on Serie A?

Supporting one of two greatest rivals is totally weird to me. And...

QUOTE (Portikins @ Sep 17 2008, 09:52 PM) *
Milan must win being better than the rivals. Not the rivals worse than us (like Mancini's Inter).

... exactly that!

Classless? come on rolleyes.gif they're the classiest English club. how can you say they're classless...

Excuse me, who are you supporting? an English side or a Spanish one? rolleyes.gif

Or... we just don't agree on that. They are the biggest club in England maybe but they are classless in my view... besides, what do you expect me to say I loathe them Scousers! biggrin.gif

You can support whichever team you want to, all I'm saying is it seems weird to me...

QUOTE (zdrossoneri @ Sep 17 2008, 10:06 PM) *
WHY GILA WHY??? WHY DID YOU FLOP HERE??

Because he was the easy target and everyone blamed him for our losses when everyone was awful.

QUOTE (zdrossoneri @ Sep 17 2008, 10:11 PM) *
It took him more than one season to score in the CL for us.

He could have scored in his first season against Fener but he chose to let Sheva complete his hat-trick. here (min 2:50) Sheva thanked him for that after the game.

QUOTE (zdrossoneri @ Sep 18 2008, 07:26 AM) *
Anyway... I think La Viola were robbed of a victory if this is to be believed.

Unlike Holland's goal against Italy, I don't think this one was offside.

I think you should take a little break from your anti-Wenger campaign, you're becoming awfully predictable...

1. The Kiev player drags Sagna down on top of himself. That is not a penalty, is it?
2. The ref added 3 minutes, but blew the whistle after 1. Can you imagine what Ferguson or Mourinho would have done in the same situation?
3. That goal wasn't offside. Simple as that.

Anti-Wenger? Did I say anything about him at the weekend? No. For some reason you think I'm anti-Arsenal/Adebayor/Wenger.. even though I proved to you the other week I give Arsenal credit when you deserve it, yet you still continue with this.

Sagna put his arms around him, he fell for it, it's his own fault.
I can't say, I don't know how much was added on, how much was played, I didn't see the full game.
Sky Sports replays show differently, he was actually offside twice during that goal. First from the initial cross, then from the touch that Adebayor(?) got.
Jack Sparrow
Just my two bits. I think that complaining about 2 minutes not added is kinda cheap, esp when you haven't done much over 90.

Secondly, I wish Wenger would just stop cribbing about how Arsenal players are always rough housed.

Firstly, Arsenal don't really have the best disciplinary record in the league either.
Secondly, it's like us complaining that other teams are parking the bus in front of the goal. F@ckin get over it!!

That being said, I'm mostly neutral about most clubs in EPL. I just watch whichever club is playing well. So now it's Chelsea and sometimes Villa..though everytime I watch they play bad. (Stoke and Liverpool). Newcastle are tough to get on television, but I love watching their games, even the 0-0s are so much fun.

Doesn't matter if it was offside or onside. you don't play on when one of the opponent's players is down with a serious injury. what they did was not necessarily 'illegal', it was unsportsmanlike!

I've never mocked Wenger for no reason. The only time I ever get on his back is when he makes unnecessary or stupid comments, if he says something I agree with, or nothing at all, I won't mock him, no. Feel free to show me when I've just said anything ill towards him otherwise.

Anyways, just saw that Celtic-Aalborg sending off again.. it's so bad. The players look nothing alike and have different hair colours and everything. Even the player that should have been sent off was saying that he should be the one to leave the field, and the ref just isn't listening. laugh.gif

Compared to the rest of the big 4 (and Blackburn), Arsenal are perfectly nice. When it comes to class, well, I would say the Greenhouse project should be enough really.

QUOTE
Nedved: It felt like our first time...
Wednesday 17 September, 2008
Pavel Nedved thinks nerves got the better of Juventus as they returned to the Champions League. “We felt like debutants.”

The Bianconeri have been out of Europe for two years since the Calciopoli scandal and some stars – including the 2003 Ballon d’Or winner – stayed with the club even in Serie B.

“This was more than a simple victory, as we cared a great deal about this game. Perhaps too much, as we were tense and have played better in other matches,” he said after the 1-0 win over Zenit.

“The three points were crucial and we paid a little for the fact that we may not be Champions League debutants, but we felt like it tonight.

“I felt it and I saw some of my teammates who were very tense in the first half. They couldn’t express themselves as well as usual.”

Alessandro Del Piero scored the only goal of the night in Turin with a splendid free kick that caught the goalkeeper off guard.

“Zenit are a great side and pushed us, but we defended in an organised manner. I think we are in decent shape physically and proved that in the preliminary round. I think it was psychological tonight, as we were too eager to do well and got nervous.”

Nedved does not disguise he has a particular point to prove in this competition, as he has never won and missed the 2003 Final against Milan through suspension.

“I would make many sacrifices to go all the way in the Champions League, as this is a very special competition for me.

“We will have to wait for other games to play better football, as we needed the result tonight and are happy with it. We know we have to improve, but there is plenty of time for that.”

Juve were also hindered by losing Mauro Camoranesi – who hit the post in the first half – to an ankle injury early on.

“I hope he won’t be out for a long time, as he is crucial for our team, especially now that he is in such great form.”

Your discipline has improved over recent years. The big 4 generally do get away with things more than others though, except Chelsea, who're often punished for no reason really. See: Terry red card this season.
