oh, my Spanish is horrible. I understand about half of the commentary but thing is, these guys know what they're talking about. So do the guys on RAI. Andy Gray on ESPN (I like Tommy Healy) and most of the commentators and 'experts' on Fox Soccer have gone beyond the 'annoying' stage and have reached the 'offensive' stage for me. So I'd rather listen to something I only half understand than be forced to endure Andy Gray or Warren Barton. smile.gif

There's no 'luck' about it. You can only beat whats in front of you and that's what they've done.

Andy Gray. Top class footballer, top class commentator. Though it's stupid, if he was going on about Milan winning it for a 2nd time in a row, I doubt anybody would be complaining or calling him a wanker. rolleyes.gif

You call the first 2 United goals anything other then luck? And Ronaldo's goal against Porto??

And unless Milan have suddenly moved quarters and became an English team, I doubt he'll be gushing about anything Milan do anytime soon wink.gif
han2503
Arsenal actually sucking horse's @ss tonight.

I hate how they keep trying to thread the passes through the blue wall with nothing coming out of it except for Unit counter attacking

Fletcher red. poor Fletcher sad.gif misses the final. 100% correct decision. Rosetti cool.gif

It's diferent for me I suppose. I just laugh at most commentators because I think it's a joke how most of them get the job! If anyone knows what they're talking about it's someone who's played the game, somebody who's a former Player of the Year and international footballer. If there's any commentator, in my opinion, that falls under the 'expert' category, it's Andy Gray. Most people don't like him because he likes the English clubs.. well, what do they expect, he's lived here for God knows how long.

Andy Gray was very, very positve towards Milan and particularly Inzaghi when we won it. Immortal is what he said, I believe.

Penalty Arsenal, Fletcher wrongfully dismissed. RvP scores. That red card will surely be overturned?
han2503
Sadly it's too late
kurtsimonw
According to the commentators on ITV only mistaken identity red cards can be overturned. I really feel for Fletcher, that was a horrible decision, he got the ball quite clearly and now misses the final.

So now we see why zeddie's watching the game!

---

Kurt, as for Andy Gray, I remember him referring to Milan as dirty, greasy Italian mafia scumbags who didn't deserve to be in the tournament in 2007.

I'm not sure I've ever heard the man say any positive thing about a club outside the EPL.

THAT's why I don't watch games he commentates because even if he may know his football, his bias is not something I'm prepared to listen to. smile.gif

Wrongfully? he 'scissored' Fabregas! true that he hit the ball first but Fabregas could've scored on rebound. 100% correct decision. even Fletcher himself didn't protest...

He said those comment towards Milan begrudgingly after we humbled Man U and Pippo made the Liverpool defence look ametourish, nothing more, nothing less.

Regarding his bias, I believe that once you take the role as football commentator bias should not be involved in your commentary.

And it's not All the English clubs he directs it to, when it's for example Liverpool-Chelsea/Arsenal or Man U Chelsea/Arsenal you can hear him being biased towards Liverpool or United

Well, he never said those things, but he did say Milan didn't deserve to be in it.

I don't think protesting was really in Fletchers mind at the time, that'd be the last thing he'd be thinking about. I think it was never a penalty in a million years and certainly not a red card. Though you're biased against United..
han2503

Well it's all about opinion. If I were to believe everything on here what people put, Inter would be bottom of the league with 0 points and Milan would be top by miles.. everyone is biased.

Rosetti was a coward today. After Arsenal went 2 behind he gave in to the crowds ironic cheers and gave them free-kicks for everything. I think Rosetti and Webb is a decent comparison, neither can do their job correctly.

I may be biased gaianst Man U but not against Fletcher. I still feel terrible for him, but IMO it was a correct decision.

Yes, but when you're biased against United and biased towards Rosetti and a United player gets sent off.. well, we all know your opinion. tongue.gif

FT. Another season without a trophy for Wenger, surely the Arsenal fans won't put up with this for much longer? United to be the first team to repeat since Milan?

It's clearly not oppinion, but them being biased towards United. If this was any other foreign team playing against Arsenal they would never react the way they have been to Rosetti's calls.

Rosetti is one of the best refs around and has reffed big matches before, I'm sure he's not going to let a few ironic cheers get to him. In fact most 50/50 calls went United's way tonight. As for their Webb comments they were saying that he can ref the game better.

I think United will face their first real test in the final, no matter who goes through.

I'm hoping they won't actually do the repeat since that is something that Milan are the last to be able to accomplish.

Whoever goes through from the other semi, I'm hoping wins. Not because I don't want Man U to win, but because looking at it from a footballing perspective, Barca are the team that deserve it the most because of the incredible season they've played, and Chelsea because they have been so close on so many occasions yet still can't seem to actually get that final step right.

he gets the ball cleanly with left foot but clear catches fabregas trailing leg with his right, whether or not it was intentional it was a foul and nothing more but it just happened to be in the box and on the last man = red card.

I disagree. If he gets the ball initially, which he does, then it's not a foul. Just because he then catches him, doesn't make it a foul.

So do you think this is a foul? Because he gets the ball first, but then takes then makes contact with the player which results in him going to the floor. Not even close to me, good tackle, like Fletchers today.

like i said one foot gets the ball, the other one chops fabregas, two different actions that are unrelated. using your logic as long as you get the ball you can follow through how ever you want like lets saw cleat his shin or elbow his face or i dunno as long as you get the ball?

Pathetic display by Arsenal in both legs. Just awful.

It's been a great game so far.

Chelsea surely do not deserve to lead the tie though, they have playing bad defensive football for 3x45 minutes. Should I call this catenaccio? Oh wait Chelsea's not an Italian side so it's probably called tactically superior defensive-minded football or something like that... rolleyes.gif

Abidal sent off for...well, for being the closest player to Anelka when Le Sulk decided to go down.

Fishdoll thinks he'll watch the hockey game tonight instead of the replay of this game, yepyep.

EDIT: Fishdoll might watch the last few minutes of the game after all. Iniesta got an equalizer in the 93rd (so the ticker tells me). Barca go through to the final.

Milan Are Brilliant
First shot on target, first goal. I think another performance like that and they will be battered by United though, as for Messi, well if it was Ronaldo he'd be lambasted for a performance that was so distinctively average as that but that's another matter.

Still the 2 best teams (on paper) in Europe will battle it out and it has been a while since that's happened in the final.
han2503
YESSS!!!

No all English Final!!!!!!

Barca really showed the desire to win it, and unlike in 06 were they had all the talent and ego, they have the talent and just the drive this season. It was amazing to watch after going down to 10 men.

But as far as refereeing goes... That was a disgrace
