Christian Maldini's team biggrin.gif Btw keep an eye on that Ala Ramadan kid. He's got a bright future. I know his older brother really well and its interesting the stuff he tells me regarding the upcoming youth in milan. He says the milan academy is developing some very talented players after major investments made by Galli.

Ciro Ferrara was impressed when Italy sealed 2-0 victory over the Ivory Coast in their opening Toulon Tournament match.

The traditional competition is held in France between Under-21 sides and the Azzurrini got off to a great start in Group A.

Alberto Paloschi took just four minutes to open the scoring with a lob from the edge of the box, while they had to wait until the 85th for Manolo Gabbiadini to tap in Mattia Destro’s assist.

It was the third game on the trot that Cittadella striker Gabbiadini has hit the back of the net.

Ferrara remains unbeaten on the Italy bench with five victories and a draw against Germany.

“I have players of great talent in attack and I try to make the most of them, obviously while also maintaining a balance,” said the Coach.

Colombia and Portugal drew 1-1, so Italy now lead Group A in the Toulon Tournament with three points.

“It was important to win the first game. We had a few problems with tension because it was the opener, but I am satisfied. As long as the results go well, they give us confidence and allow us to believe in the work we’re doing.”

They were better in the first half, we were better in the second and missed good chances to score. Fossatti had a good game from the parts I watched - good passing and controlled the game well.

Our primavera season is over now.

But, according to Blue, we're supposed to have the strongest primavera ever!!! How is this possible??? blink.gif

Jack Bauer
He's exaggerating. We and Roma both have strong primaveras. One had to lose...

Apparently Giovanni Stroppa resigned today as the primavera coach of AC Milan. What happened there? I though he was doing a pretty good job?

according to Football-italia.net he got the axe and is furious about it...
Fillipo Simone
I thought Stroppa was one of the so-called family members. Why was he sacked, because of the Roma venue?
Bluesummers
My guess is he hasn't done what they wanted from him.

Probably the speed at which players are developing isn't satisfactory for the board. I doubt that one match had anything to do with it.
Jack Sparrow
Very strange. We seem to be alienating a lot of 'family' these days. smile.gif Who's the replacement?
acid911
Not as strange, when you see the club sold its soul an year or two back. wink.gif Now the management wants results, at pretty much any cost. Results in finances, and results on the pitch. In fact, just a couple of seasons back I would never have imagined Allergri to be our coach - what with the family talk and all, home grown coaches!
Fillipo Simone
Well, Allegri joined Milan for a short period in 1994.

But, I still don't think we've sold our souls. Not until Berlu and Galliani step down and leave it to some Russian or Arab investors who have nothing to do with Milan other then pumping money in and out.

Sold the soul, not in the truest sense of the word. One which I hope never happens. wink.gif And like you said, probably never will as long as B&G are around at the top most hierarchy of the club. But the players I see with the reputation (who just a few years back would never have been in our club colors), the one year renewal policy with over 30 (that nevertheless exploded in the face last month), and general vibes I get from the club offices are quite a turn from the club of old. Even the new-found emphasis on youth (remember how we bought no less than 12 youth players last summer). Heck, even the way we conduct business on the pitch, and waste minutes on the flag (more to do with the coach, I agree, but still).

Part of it maybe the footballing world's financial situation, or maybe the Mr. B got tired of inter winning consecutively, but something gave and something changed. biggrin.gif Fingers crossed it's not a grave one, and really something like that would only come if the club gets bought by a Russian or Arab oil/business tycoon.

Our U-17 team won the scudetto after beating Empoli 1-0. Kingsley Boateng scored the winner.

With the option to buy. sad.gif There goes another young home-grown talent down the drain. And people were of the view that Paolo staying on meant that we did not buy a new defender. I have seen ample of Paoloschi, and I will be the first to admit that I would have liked him to have have stayed and be our striker.
Jack Sparrow
I saw ample too. Never saw anything that remarkable. Besides the sentimental value of homeboy coming good.
acid911
Well I'd put him well above Strasser and Merkel that's for sure. smile.gif Paloschi had raw talent and an eye for goal, we needed to make the most of it to turn him into a reliable backup striker, homegrown and cheap. We can't go out buying Patos and Ibras, and whatnot - one we don't have unlimited supply of cash like some clubs, and secondly there aren't too many Patos and Ibras lying around.

If we throw away any and all prospects, a time will come when we will never have any. It's not always about seeing anything remarkable or only keeping a miraculous player - most of the times you have to be a miracle. My $0.02.
Jack Sparrow
Dunno. I actually think as far as footballers go Strasser was the best I saw in that young crop. Paloschi was a striker...so he was always gonna catch the highlight reel more.
dst
Strasser is the only one that looks like he could become valuable to a club like Milan. I see more in Merkel than I see in Paloschi but still I think neither is cut for this level.

Just to clarify, the option to buy is for 50% of his rights. If he has a good season there, we might still see him here in the future.

Cool. king.gif That's a bit of a relief. I want to see what he does for a full season here, before passing the verdict.

Marco Ezio Fossati, I know Blue talked about him as if he's the next Pirlo or something, but how come we've never heard anything about him in the media?

I'd happy even if one of them makes it biggrin.gif

BTW Paolo has two younger brothers who are not football players, so there is a possibility that a member of a Maldini clan can do something else other than football wink.gif
