How's Berretta doing (or how did he do)?
dst
Beretta is a pure box forward it seems so we can't expect fancy things from him. He did alright though, he's very strong and his technique is fine.

The game ended 2-1 for Italy.
kurtsimonw
A game involving South Korea that wasn't fixed!? OMG!
Tennie
Berretta has scored for the Azzurrini in their game against the US. It's 1-0 in the 50th.

The Primavera go through to the quarterfinals of the primavera coppa on aggregate over the baby donkeys of Chievo. They'll play the Cittadella primavera.

EDIT: the Azzurrini won 2-1 and advance. Rar.

yay.gif congratulations Azzurrini boys
Tennie
The Primavera won their game today, 3-1 with goals by Schenetti, Verdi, and Gaeta. They remain in first place in their group. From what I can tell Zigoni didn't play but I believe he's been called up for the U19s, so we don't need to threaten him.

(from acmilan.com)
dst
What? He did not score and he did not play? So you're basically saying he did nothing! Cut off one of his fingers NOW!

True enough, dst. What does he need that extra finger for anyway!

I would laugh but I don't know if he's being serious or not. Good thing he's not in charge of the youth teams! tongue.gif
Tennie
Sometimes, Ro, it's better not to ask if dst's being serious. The answer can be scary. smile.gif

for those of you wondering who Stroppa is, he is one of the main TD's of the youth section. Now that Galli is more involved with First team stuff he covers alot of the youth stuff.
Tennie
Thanks for the clip!

I still don't think Galli is at all involved in first team stuff.smile.gif I think he's overall in charge of all the youth squads.

Stroppa is also a former Milan player who was on the Sacchi-era squad, left, and came back to play a year (I think?) for the Capello-era squad. He played for a lot of different clubs. Seems to be doing a rather good job with the primavera.

Yeah stroppa is a very good coach, he has already done wonders.

Mauro Pederzoli and him are mainly responsible for the youth upbringing that is happening quite a bit. I know they are the ones that asked for Baretta and Zigoni to be transfered here as well as that argentinian kid signed last week.

Mauro Pederzoli is one of our scouts.

That's good. A great manager is nice...the best scouts are just as important.

agreed, without Leo we would not have pato or Kaka. Now Pederzoli who is just as good imo has taken over. He is a little more italian flavored than Leo though tongue.gif

I think we can give Zigoni his finger back. He scored 2 for the U19 azzurrini in their 5-0 win over Albania.

That's less than half the total number of goals scored by the team... not getting-finger-back-worthy!

Italy Coppa Primavera, Milan-Cittadella 2-1

zigiono was one of our scorer
Tennie
Fishdoll is afraid to report this one because dst might take away another finger.

The Primavera won at the weekend, 2-0 over (i can't remember who, it's on the club website). But Zigoni didn't score.

Also of note, Darmian is FINALLY over his broken foot and played about an hour over the weekend for Padova, who lost the game (3 other guys on the squad got sent off, no cookies for them) but who are comfortably in midtable in Serie B. (info from Padova's website)
Zed.D
He had broken his leg? ohmy.gif
Tennie
Foot, not leg, and yeah. Broke it in preseason training. This past weekend was - as best I can tell - his first playing time for Padova.
Ro Rossonera
Congratulations to the primavera boys! *hides Zigoni*

Glad to hear that Darmian is back in action. I believe that was his first time playing too.
Tennie
So at least the Primavera won today.

They beat the Vicenza Primavera 7-0.

Goals by Verdi(2), Beretta(2), Zigoni, Oduamani, and Schenetti.

dst, do the players get to keep their bits after this game?

CrazyMilanFan
we r on top rite?
Tennie
Unfortunately, CMF, we're in second- one point behind Atalanta (who, as usual, have an uber strong youth squad).
CrazyMilanFan
rite still better than past years lets hope for the best i think we do have a good youth side this year

You just said we're in second place... I'm not getting softer just because Christmas is around the corner, I hope you don't too!

fiesta.gif balloons.gif beersmiley1.gif Happy 19th birthday to Michelangelo Albertazzi!
whoarethepatriots
I havent been tracking the Primavera this season. How is Albertazzi holding up? Has Darmian played for his loan club yet?
Tennie
Albertazzi, best I can tell, is doing quite well for the primavera. The team's currently in second place, just behind Atalanta.

Darmian's finally recovered from the broken foot and is getting regular playing time for Padova (he played the full 90 of their game earlier this week).
Tennie
The Brescia-Padova game is going to be televised tomorrow on RAI (10am Eastern; 16.00 CET). I'll try to watch it to see how Darmian is doing.
Fishdoll
So, the Primavera won their coppa game v. Cittadella today and go through to the semis where they will meet Empoli.

FT Milan 3-0 Cittadella

Goals by Albertazzi, Schenetti, and Scampini

(I think they can keep their bits this time, dst. they did keep a clean sheet and go through to the next round).
dst
Only because Albertazzi scored!
han2503
Something I don't understand, why did De Vito get the call up today instead of Albertazzi? He's clearly one of our most promising Primavera players

Fishdoll
Probably because the primavera were in a coppa knockout game, han. I dunno why.

Anyway, I've decided I like De Vito. Here's what he said at the end of the game (my translation from acmilan.com):

QUOTE
"Going onto the pitch for the first time in a rossoneri jersey at the SaN Siro was a great emotion. For me, it's my 8th year at milan and the 2nd with the Primavera. I'd like to thank all the coaches who've helped me along the way and who've allowed me to make this big step in my career. I remember when I came to the stadium as a ballboy and cheered the squad. Today's game was a really spectacular sensation. At the end of the game, Novara players asked for my jersey but I wanted to keep it because it's a special memory.

The coach told me on Monday that I might be called up but I only found out I'd be playing today and my heart was beating a million miles a minute. Milan is really a family and has given me great emotions. From today's game, I also will remember the affection of the fans who didn't know me and who at the end of the game cheered me, as well as the great support of my teammates and the coach. During the game, everyone was close to me, giving me great advice. The coach even made suggestions from the touchline.

I'm also happy because the Primavera won their Coppa game. We've worked really hard to reach this objective. Coach Stroppa's team is strong and even if there are some absences of players called up to the senior side, it's a quality team.

I wasn't all the impressed by him tbh

I can count 5 times were he had the ball near our area and insted of quickly releasing it tried to go past players and ended up losing the ball.
dst
He was trying to impress, I don't blame him for that. I like it that he's confident, he just has to learn how to turn that into something productive.
Fishdoll
Big win for the Primavera today.

They beat Atalanta 4-1 and have now gone equal on points with them at the top of their division.

Goals by Zigoni (2), Schenetti, and Oduamani.

(I will be very cross with dst if he wants to chop bits off after this one.)

Well done to the Primavera! 96.gif 96.gif 96.gif
dst
No bits will be chopped off but whoever is responsible for the goal we conceded will receive a punch or two!
Fishdoll
Bryan Cristante, a midfielder who plays for the Giovanissimi Nazionali of the youth system, has been called up to the U16s.
Fishdoll
+1 to the Primavera. They won their first match in the group stage of the Viareggio Cup, defeating Leme 4-0. Goals by Beretta (3!) and Pedrocchi.

Well done! 96.gif 96.gif 96.gif

Finally, 3+ goals scored and none conceded.
Fishdoll
The primavera deserve more than a cookie today. (Either that or dst's threats are finally paying off).

FT Milan 6-0 Esperia 96.gif 96.gif 96.gif

Goals by Berretta (3), Oduamani (2) and Pedrocchi.

Congratulations to the Prima boys!
