Ronaldinho wants to play at next World Cup
"I want to be part of the World Cup. It would be the greatest moment of my life and the lives of many in Brazil.
"I want to regain my old form and I know that I can contribute to the team. It is my priority to make sure I'm ready if and when the chance to play appears."

Not happening. If he couldn't make it in 2010, there's no way in hell he could make it for 2014.

I'd never hit a woman personally, but I know a lad who says if a bloke hits him, he'd hit them back. If women want to be treated equally, it'd be sexist not to hit her back.

Because they're f*ckin' Jewish? It's in homage to their large Yiddish fanbase.
What's wrong with that!?
Or have I totally misunderstood somehow?
I know a few Spurs fans. One of them happens to be a Jew and he hates it. Apparently because they had a section of Jewish fans, when fans called them Yids, they basically started to call themselves it as a "That don't insult us, we'll use it ourselves!" type of defense. Now you have tens of thousands of white fans shouting Yids and it offends both Spurs Jews and none-Spurs fans Jews (Comedian David Baddiel is very outspoken against it).
Birmingham has a fairly large South-East Asian community and there's been a few occassions "you're just a town full of Pakis" has been shouted at us by the away support. Imagine Villa fans calling themselves the Pakis? IMO there's little difference. I don't think people would look kindly because 'Paki' is seen as more of an insult than 'Yid' - mainly because there's more Asians than Jews over here, and I don't see why it's acceptable really.

I didn't know the full backstory. But then I guess it's the same as 'n*gger'. Originally an insult which the target then started calling each other.
It's a very perverse direction to take; it's odd when it starts as a genuine racist or anti Semitic insult, gets adopted by whoever is being called it then is regarded as offensive if others use it again but ok if the target uses it among themselves.
How exactly do you clarify and clear THAT one up!

Just FIFA marketing though really. Who the hell is Jordi Alba? He's a no name still really. VDB winning the Manager award over Jose is hilarity also.
FIFA must employ actual monkeys, clowns and donkeys to pick these award. Oddly, about the only thing I agree with is Messi this year. Though Ronaldo and Sneijder should've won the last 2. But it's all about FIFA trying to create something.

What do you guys think about Messi sending a signed shirt to Muller. an arrogant, condescending, patronizing, etc. gesture or a nice, classy, respectful gesture?
I don't know why some say it's arrogant. while Muller may be a legend and all that, Messi is not exactly a nobody himself.. why shouldn't he send a signed shirt with a nice massage to Muller? because he's 25, or because he hasn't won enough with Argentina? both are completely irrelevant.
