There are good managers and bad managers, the percentage of bad managers is surely not bigger among the former players...

no your right. Its not that they are lowering the pro player managers, not at all. What they are doing is making sure its no longer just a walk-in job for players. What it means is they all have to go through the process just like everyone else. Ofcourse I wonder if they can regulate this with all the corruption out there. If I were a player, why would I not just buy the examiner for a 100k and be passed easily.

the instructor after the exam said he was a horrible coach

I remember he said Leo was nervous or something along that lines. he never said and never would say "horrible". don't exaggerate!

I think Leo would have done a good job if he'd been given a good squad. he isn't a miracle worker. and something interesting: so far he's done better than how Carlo did last season (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) we had 6 points by the end of the 4th matchday. now we have 7. how can that not be seen as an improvement is beyond me!

Nothing in him to suggest much than that he's smarter than the average bear, though EPL does tend to have inflated player prices...

I'd rather stick with Favalli and get a mid-fielder.

Gary Cahill is a fantastic defender, he really is. He has a very good chance of going to the World Cup next year as he's probably next in line behind Terry, Ferdinand and Upson. Hes better than Lescott as he doesn't make the mistakes he does. Letting Cahill go was a tough decisio n for Villa, it was clear he was going to be great, but he wanted first team football which was something we couldn't guarentee with Laursen and Mellberg at the club. He'll be top 4 quality within the next few years.

I think you overestimate the power of corruption within most european countries. You can't just "buy" your license. Also, I think that ex-players have a slight advantage compared to their non-ex-pro counterparts. They already trained under great coaches. Of course the class of a person as player has nothing to do with their class as coach. Best examples. Lothar Matthäus and Maradonna. Both were the best players in the world on their peak (Maradonna may even be the best ever) but they don't have the ability to become a decent coach. Other ex-players like Trap or Beckenbauer had the quality as they're not as dumb.
That said, I'm not a huge fan of modern "scientific" approach to football as invented during the 80ies in eastern europe and now performed by coaches like Mourinho. Doesn't have the charme.

this off goal.com

-cassano will leave for 20M (not that much for arguably one of serie A's top 5 players)
-pandev/ladesma still on the block
-molinaro wants out of juve
-sevilla are also targeting Dzeko to spite us

this IS MILAN news!

Milan Could Have Signed Francesco Totti At 12 - Former Agent Stefano Caira
A member of the Milan management approached the Italian international's mother with an offer, but the agent told her to refute it, as he would be worth much more...

Agent Stefano Caira has revealed in an interview to Radio Incontro that Milan were interested in signing Roma captain Francesco Totti at the tender age of 12.

But it was Caira who convinced Totti's mother not to accept the deal, and wait for an even bigger, and better offer.

"When Francesco was 12, a person from the Milan team presented to Totti's mother [Fiorella] 150,000.000 lire," the now ex-agent revealed.

"She asked me what I was to do, and I responded that, that amount was too little for Francesco."

Caira said that he had been following Il Capitano's progress from the age of just five, and knew how much he really could be worth.

He continued, "At 18, Roma offered him his first professional contract, worth 50 million lire, whilst Nike made him quickly sign a 300 million lire contract as a testimonial to their products.

"After Nike came Adidas, who offered the player €1.5million a season, and €500,000 a year for life to become an ambassador.

"It was at this time that someone around him told him to not accept these deals, and the rapport between us two was never the same," Caira concluded.

Totti's Roma take on Palermo on Wednesday night.

DeadlyAccurate.com cite Russian newspaper Life claiming Milan have signed CSKA Moscow trequartista/right winger Milos Krasic. It's said he will join us next summer.

It's probably false but does anyone know anything about him? Other than the fact that Fillipo won't like him, we all know that.

can't touch this

Kurt, do you remember him from Villa's games against CSKA from last season?

What do you mean new Jankulovski?

The page on that link you posted also cites Life... there's nothing official yet.
