Milan Puzzled By New Ronaldo Injury
The AC Milan medical team are completely bamboozled by Ronaldo’s latest injury, and cannot work out exactly what he is suffering from.
El Fenomeno has had a disastrous season on the injury front and only managed to play one game, against Cagliari, before Christmas.
After the winter break it seemed that Ronaldo had returned to fitness after he started and starred in the matches against Napoli and Udinese, and came on as a substitute against Atalanta 10 days ago.
The 31-year-old then picked up yet another injury, which wasn’t believed to be that serious after the player himself described it as a minor calf strain.
However this doesn’t seem to be the case and the Corriere dello Sport has revealed that the AC Milan medical staff have no idea exactly what Ronaldo is suffering from.
Tests were undertaken on the ex-Real Madrid man which proved inconclusive, thus making treatment to solve the injury problematic.
There is now the distinct possibility that Ronaldo and the Milan medical staff could be on course for another heated collision.
It was reported earlier in the season that the Brazilian was unhappy with the treatment that he was receiving at San Siro for a knee injury, and thus returned to his native country to be rehabilitated by his Brazil national team doctor Jose Luiz Runco.
This caused a division within the Milan camp, and with the Rossoneri seemingly unable to get to the bottom of Ronaldo’s injury problems again, there is a possibility of this situation reoccurring.

Ronaldo focused on Euro gloryRonaldo is back in action after a series of injuries and has one target in his sights – to win the Champions League with Milan.
“I have not yet won the Champions League, so I will do everything I can to bring it back home with Milan.â€
He is closing in on full fitness in the run-up to the second round showdown with Arsenal, which would be his European debut in a Rossoneri jersey.
He was cup-tied due to his time with Real Madrid in last season’s triumphant competition, while physical problems have prevented him from playing in the Champions League, European Super Cup or Club World Cup this term.
The striker has barely set foot on the field this season due to recurring knee and muscular injuries, but finally seems ready to make his mark against Siena this weekend.
“This is going to be an important game. We are make up for lost ground after a bad start and to win here would be crucial.â€
The Rossoneri are now in fifth place with a game in hand after defeating top four contenders Udinese and Fiorentina away from home in recent weeks.
However, they are without injured stars Alexandre Pato and Kaka – as well as the suspended Alberto Gilardino – for the Siena encounter, so he could partner Pippo Inzaghi.
“We had a few training sessions together and had a lot of fun. This season when I was fit then he tended to be injured, and vice versa, but now we’re more or less alright at the same time. If we do play alongside each other, we will try to do very well,†he told Milan Channel.
“A year ago I was able to give my contribution, this year a little less. I am disappointed at all the injuries I had in my career and think there were many mistakes both from the medical staff and from me.
“Now I hope to get some consistency into my performances because being here at Milan is wonderful and very motivating. I am determined to do well.â€

Oh man. I have to admit, I was defending the boards position when they made it clear that we were going to have to rely on Gila, Pippo and Roni for most of the season. But it seems as though Roni has failed to do enough to secure a contact extension in my opinion.
I don't really see any sign of him slimming down, and although he can often make something happen when the ball is at his feet, he rarely seems to move into positions where he has the space to do that.
I think he should move on at the end of the season. Somewhere like America would suit him right now - Milan are fighting on too many fronts to have to rely on someone in his condition.

Whatever keeps you from doing what you love to do, truly is cruel. Now he slowly has to find the joy in his life in another direction. He has to find a new purpose so he can also get over his psychological problems. I myself haven't played football(or any sports) for over a year now because of a shin problem and it really is a psychological burden even though football is not my purpose in life.

Official - Ronaldo tendon severedQUOTE
Milan have now confirmed Ronaldo has completely severed the tendon in his left knee, effectively ending his career.
The striker collapsed as he jumped to reach a cross during tonight’s 1-1 draw with Livorno and immediately the situation seemed to be serious.
His teammates waved for medical staff and called for a substitution as he was stretchered off the field in tears.
Ronaldo was rushed to a local hospital to undergo tests and initial reports suggesting he had completely severed the tendon were confirmed on the official Rossoneri website.
Ronnie has already suffered this type of injury twice before in 1998 and 2000, but that was in his right knee.
As there was talk of a possible retirement at the end of this season, if the diagnosis is confirmed then it is likely Ronaldo’s career is over.
An injury of this type requires a player to be out of action for between nine months and a year.

ADRIANO GALLIANI:
Adesso sta a noi stragli vicino.
When Ronie was crying, I huged him and I started to cry too, but I told him that we will be close to him. Milan in past has proven that he never abandon players who are victims of injuries and the same thing will happen with Ronaldo! We won't abandon him!
p.s.; All the players after the game rushed to the hospital to see how Ronaldo is.

But I think it all ended tonight... I am sorry, Ari!

There are a couple of stories about the injury on Controcampo. Apparently, Leonardo and Seedorf rode with Ronie to the hospital. He's going to be flown to Paris and tomororw, he will be operated on by the same team that operated on his other knee.
There was a lot of concern by both the Milan staff and from Livorno. Apparently, when he heard about the injury, the Livorno president's first question was whether or not any of his players caused the injury.
One of the stories is quoting the 9 - 12 month recovery time and is saying the same thing that many of us have already guessed: this may be the end of Ronie's career.
