Yup .. That is what the club said. And I am not saying anything otherwise .. All I am saying is, that is what I heard from someone who followed Ronnie, cuz ever since he came back from that injury he was bloated a bit ..

In any case .. The club said it was a hypothyroid, then I'm gonna stick with the club on this conclusion smile.gif

Ronaldo faces fitness test

Ronaldo will start on the bench for Milan against Empoli next weekend if he comes through a midweek friendly unscathed.

The Brazilian international has yet to make his seasonal debut for the club due to injury, but he seems tantalisingly close to a return for the Rossoneri.

The January arrival from Real Madrid has been sidelined since the club misdiagnosed the severity of a muscle strain picked up during pre-season.

However, the attacker is reportedly on the verge of making a full recovery and it’s not out of the question that he could play some part in the outfit’s next Serie A game.

It’s understood that Ronaldo will undergo a precautionary scan on Tuesday and, if that shows no problems, then he will be used in a friendly on Thursday to test his fitness.

It will then be up to the club doctors and coaching staff whether the big Brazilian can be unleashed on to the Serie A stage once more.

Ronaldo’s return would certainly be a boost for Coach Carlo Ancelotti who has only had the misfiring Alberto Gilardino and Pippo Inzaghi available for action so far this term.

Although Kaka has helped out with goals, Ancelotti will have more opportunities to rest his attackers once Ronnie is back, especially for their Champions League bid which has been compromised by a defeat to Celtic.

Wasn't the Betis game on Thursday? This must have been written before that or something.. Unless we have another friendly coming up. unsure.gif

ControCampo is reporting that Ronaldo will be back to debut in the Empoli game. He will recieve final tests from MilanLab on Thursday and the reports from there are positive. He has been training well and his muscle problem is no longer an issue anymore, though he is being careful not to damage it again.

So it is 99.9% sure that he will play on the 21st against Empoli.

Moratti Still Friendly With Ronaldo

Inter president Massimo Moratti reveals he and Ronaldo remain good friends, despite the striker's move to Milan earlier this year.

Inter president Massimo Moratti is enjoying his team's current leadership in Serie A, and, staying true to his gentlemanly reputation, revealed he hopes Milan striker Ronaldo, formerly of Inter, will get back on the playing field soon.

Despite the Brazilian's recent move to the Nerazzurri's city rivals, Moratti's affection for the two-time Ballon D'Or winner remains strong, as Ronaldo is still the Inter boss' number one favorite player.

"Aside from the fact I still have affection for him," said Moratti, "I'm also connected with him through the many social initiatives we are both involved in. So I hope, obviously, that he gets back to playing sooner rather than later."

It seems Moratti's wish will come true already next weekend, as Milan plan to have the striker available for the home match against Empoli, when he will likely take place on the bench.

During his years with Inter, between 1997 and 2002, Ronaldo became a worldwide football icon, before making a shock move to Real Madrid following Brazil's World Cup victory. He then spent four seasons and a half at Real, before moving to Inter's bitter rivals Milan in January this year.

Really? Moratti and gentleman,.. laugh.gif laugh.gif

Good news from Milanello today!

Here's the first sentence of the 'today's training' article from acmilan.com's Italian page:

Oggi Ronaldo ha fatto tutto l'allenamento con la squadra. devilsmiley.gif

[Today Ronaldo trained with the squad.]

This includes ball practice, tactical drills, etc.

If he follows the same path that other injured players have done, he should be ready to play in a week or so (which I think would mean the away game at Shakhtar).

Milan’s Brazilian striking star Ronaldo could finally return from injury against Torino this weekend.

After arriving from Real Madrid in January, the ex-Inter man hit an impressive seven goals in 14 appearances last term.

However, Ronnie has been injured since July 31 and has seen his return date pushed back three times.

El Fenomeno’s thigh injury also caused a strain between the 31-year-old and the club when he found his own treatment after a misdiagnosis from the Rossoneri doctors.

Ronaldo is back in training with the rest of the squad and is using a ball after a long period of solely fitness work.

^^^ would be fine by me... if he does play Torino game it'll just be a bonus... but realistically against Shakhtar would be great biggrin.gif

Here's a relevant quote from Galliani (interview on acmilan.com's italian page today):

RONALDO: 'Carlo Ancelotti mi dice che forse con il Torino una sua convocazione sarebbe prematura. Ma magari in Champions League, per la trasferta in Ucraina, o per quella della domenica successiva a Bergamo contro l'Atalanta ci sarà'.

[Carlo Ancelotti tells me that his call up for the Torino game may be premature. But he may be called up for the CL game in the Ukraine (against Shakhtar), or for that next Sunday in Bergamo against Atalanta, he'll be there.]

So....probably not this weekend, possibly in the CL game, and almost certainly next weekend against Atalanta.

Ronaldo: I’m back
Friday 2 November, 2007

Ronaldo is unlikely to feature for Milan tomorrow, but stresses that his injury nightmare is finally at an end.

The Brazilian hitman hasn’t featured yet this season after reporting a thigh pain on July 31.

Having been misdiagnosed twice and missed several return dates, Ronaldo finally insists that he is back in action,

“It’s three months since I picked up my injury and it has been a difficult period, but I think that it’s over now,” El Fenomeno told the Milan Channel.

“Now I’m just thinking of making the most of training with my teammates and trying to be ready to play as soon as possible.

“Being on the sidelines is never easy and mentally it has been very tough not having a definite recovery date, but it’s all in the past now.”

While Ronaldo is set to watch the game against Torino from the stands once more, he is likely to make the trip to Bergamo to face Atalanta on November 11.

It seems as though Ronaldo didn't go to visit the MilanLab physio yesterday morning .. Plus, there is also rumors that he might leave to Galaxy at the end of the season, as he is yet to renew the contract that Galliani has ready for him.

even tho he's played well for us, i dont feel thats he's going to have that great an impact on the team. just look @ his track record, he's barely won anything at the club level. as great as his been, he really is a high maintenance guy as we're all witnessing.. lots of real fans have told me one of the reasons real sucked during the galacticos era was cuz of ronaldo and the amount of space he sucked up on the team. i just feel @ his age he shouldnt have a predominant place on the team if we want to succeed as a team and win trophies, especially waiting on him rolleyes.gif i dont think he should be anything mroe than a secondary resource.

Thousands attend Zidane v Ronaldo Match Against Poverty

MALAGA, Spain (AFP) - Nearly 30,000 football fans attended Monday's fifth edition of the Match Against Poverty organised here by football legends Zinedine Zidane and Ronaldo as part of their work with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).

Former France captain and Real Madrid star Zidane and Brazil striker Ronaldo, who are both Goodwill Ambassadors for the UNDP, have been the driving forces behind this initiative since 2003.

Spectators paid between 10 and 25 euros for tickets for the game which was played between 'Friends of Zidane' and the 'Friends of Ronaldo' and ended in a 2-2 draw.

"The aim of such a match is to make people aware of the problem of poverty in the world," said AC Milan star Ronaldo, who is making his way back from injury and was substituted in the first half by seven-time Formula One world champion Michael Schumacher.

Proceeds will as in previous years benefit anti-poverty projects in Eastern Europe, Asia, Africa and Latin America.
