Your NT is the expert at missing those, why don't you ask them instead of us?

There's also a difference. In a World Cup, I'd probably throw up due to nerves. There really is no excuse to miss one in a friendly.

Exactly. They are paid to kick a football. They should be able to put it in with relative ease, especially the more gifted ones.
Exactly. If you can't kick a ball accurately from 12 yards then you shouldn't be a footballer. I'd probably excuse hitting the post as obviously people can't be 100% perfect everytime and hitting the post is a near perfect penalty.

Are you trying to disagree with me or what, because you've basically said the exact same thing: Terry (Funny how nobody mentions Ronaldo missing and Anelka's miss which decided the game, how odd.

) missed in a big game, he had pressure. There's no pressure here so no reason at all to miss.

I think everyone forgets the run-up of penalties, only the player that missed the decider gets the worst of it, and sadly that was Terry.
Like in the Istanbul final, everyone forgets that it was Pirlo and Serginho that automatically ruined our shot at winning the shoot out by missing the first 2 spot kicks, people only remember that Sheva missed the decider

You basically just proved my point. Anelka's penalty was EXACTLY the same as Sheva's, miss as you lose the cup. Yet for some reason it's Terry that gets the blame.
Anelka's penalty was
the most decisive as it decided the game.

No Anelka missed the chance to
win it while Terry's penalty put the nail in the coffin. Just like Sheva's miss.
I think there is a big difference between the 2 and why Terry got most of the slack for missing his.

In my view a miss is a miss and you can't look at them separately. Anelka's, Terry's and Christine's misses are, they way I see it, as big as each other.

I agree with you 100% which is what kurt is also saying and I agree with him to.
But the reason I'm saying the 2 scenarios are completely different is because that's the way the media percieves them and that is how they get fed to the people that observe that media. Because this is what kurt implied I think when he said that Terry got all the slack for his miss while Anelka's was forgotten as if it didn't mean anything. I was trying to project how the media and most people to be honest see these things as black and white and not take everything into account

No, really, you have it wrong. Terry had the chance to win it, but Anelka mised the decisive penalty - just like Sheva.
The shootoutAs you see, Anelka takes the final penalty.

You see it that way yes. But like I said in my post above, most people who only see these thing is black and white will tell you that it was Terry's penalty that ended the shootout and handed the trophy to Man U, but because Chelsea still had the chance to win it after Anelka's miss people forgot it because it got jumbled between the other penalties.
I'm not saying you're wrong in fact I agree with you 100% but this is the way things are seen by the general public and most importantly by the media. So the morning after you will not see the headline "Anelka loses it for Chelsea" but you'll see "Terry loses it for Chelsea"

I'm watching the video you posted now, and it seems I did mix up the order of the penalties I really thought that it was Terry who got the final kick in the sudden death, but it was the other way around...
I think they targeted Terry so much because it was such a dramatical miss with the slipping and having it practically already in his hands...
And I really had it in my mind that it was Terry who missed the final one because he was such a focus and Anelka wasn't. Well I think we can all conclude that had that been Gerard in his place Anelka would have surely got all the slack and then some

At least they'll be playing in a really nice stadium. Luz is very pretty, quite new (built in 2004), has palm trees outside, and is a good place to watch a football game.
Plus, there are some really excellent pastries to be had in Lisbon.

I never really care about the results in pre-season, but despite what Zambro has said recently, I still think putting in decent performances is important. Maybe fatigue has played a factor, who knows.
As long as everyone gives 110% in this game (and we don't pick up any injuries), I'll be happy.

I think the fact that the team had more then a couple of hours to rest between games will more then show.

There's been talk about the uruguyans being liked by Udine and then again by one or the other of the spanish clubs (can't recall which). They'll almost certainly depart either on loan or as permanent sale.

So yeah, mutant lineup time.
Apparently Ronaldinho was spotted out at the Latin American Music Festival in Milan at 1:30 am. Fans recognized him and a couple suggested he might want to go to bed given that he had morning training the next day. This on top of the weekend trip and party-til-dawn in barcelona has - so Gazzetta reports - Not Pleased Leonardo who may bench him for the Benfica game.

According to those reports Dida was with him.
I don't think he will be benched.
Everyone likes to unwind in his own way, if Dinho likes to go out in his own free time then that is up to him, a lot of other players do the same thing

Still his own time to do as he pleases with. No one tells me or you not to go out on a week night because we have to work in the morning, even though I might stay late and have a hell day at work the next day. Even if they are professional athletes that does not mean they have to be prisoners to their work.
A lot of players go out and party on week nights, I'm not going to say its wrong when its their time to do as they please with
When their forms starts slipping and their late nights are showing on the field is when it starts getting problematic.
