Yeah right. Inter have been cr@p all pre season and there wasn't anything special about Chelsea. And pre-season means nothing, last season's Chelsea also hit the ground running in pre-season with Scolari, guess where he ended up wink.gif

These friendlies mean nothing but warm ups. Not to mention that the English teams start training ahead of the Italians so they already start games against them with an advantage.

Jack Carlo is going to bomb so bad in the EPL he won't know what hit him biggrin.gif

As enjoyable as it was watching the cugini get flattened, Fishdoll does point out that Chelsea have had 3 or so weeks more preseason training in them than either the cugini or Milan. That's probably a factor in Chelsea's dominance. As for the cugini coach, I suspect he's not exactly happy to possibly/probably be losing his best outfield player (as I recall his press silence sort of coincides with the eto'o-ibrahimovic swap rumor).

Here's what milannews thinks will be the starting lineup tonight. Looks really strange to Fishdoll:

MILAN (4-3-3): Kalac; Zambrotta, Thiago Silva, Antonini, Kaladze; Gattuso, Flamini, Jankulosky; Seedorf, Inzaghi, Ronaldinho. All. Leonardo

hmm

Strange that they're saying its 4-3-3 I'm assuming it will be more of a 4-3-1-2 with Seedorf in the hole, because there is no way the turtle could play as a winger.

Zambro--Thiago--Kala--Antonini
Gattuso--Flamini--Janku
Seedorf
Pippo--Dinho

I would have preferred seeing this though

Albertazzi--Thiago--Kala--Zambro
Gattuso--Flamini--Seedorf
Abate--Bori--Dinho

Is Pirlo part of the squad?
Tennie
He and Pato both trained separately in the evening training yesterday. I think it's a matter of match fitness in both cases.

Oh, so maybe we could see them both against Chelsea?
Tennie
Yup. That's the sense I have. I think that they're gearing toward the derby on Sunday, but that's just a hunch.

I would really like to avoid defeat against Carlo's Chelsea dry.gif

Like Tennie said, pre-season results between Italian and English teams are sometimes very off. We beat Inter 3-0 two seasons ago and while it was a good result, Serie A didn't start for nearly a month while the EPL started the weekend after, it's just preperation for Serie A teams, while they're a bit more important to the English sides.

Agreed.

For what it's worth, the club practiced dead ball situations (free kicks and corners) at the end of this morning's training. Let us HOPE that they also practiced defending against them.

Other than that, not much to report re: training. A brief session with warmup, drills, and mini-games in addition to the dead ball practice.

EDIT: Swide magazine, which is a Dolce & Gabbana mag, is running a series of blog entry type reports on Milan's summer tour. Fishdoll suspects it may be of more interest to the board's female members as there are lots of shots of the players wearing D&G clothes while in california, etc. Anyway, here's the link:

btw, both Borriello and Silva trained in the hotel's gym today. They've got colds.

And speaking of pictures, here's one for the Pirate to enjoy while he's soaking in the piranha tank.

HAHAHAHAHHA! Awesome, forza pirlo! laugh.gif

He likes pink bikes tongue.gif

So, game's about to start. I've got half of my office watching (the ladies know the team as 'the footballers who model for Dolce & Gabbana. THEY liked the Swide entries). Hopefully it'll go well or I shall be mocked tomorrow.

Lineup:
Storari
Antonini Favster Nesta Janku
Rino FLamini Ronaldinho
Seedorf
Pippo Zigoni

Gosh. One of the kids is getting a start.
Coldest
First impressions about tonights start of the game ? smile.gif
han2503
We have not been good, a lot of bad passing, trying to go for the long ball to Pippo. America have been the better team so far
Coldest
Did you see that freekick ??? ohmy.gif

Yep, the bend on it was amazing
han2503
That Zigoni kid has virtually been invisable, and we're really struggling to get the ball to the attackers as its mostly just Pippo and he's not very mobile, and when he does get the ball he's losing it
han2503
Dinho is getting pushed, pulled, tugged and kicked and I don't think the ref has whistled once for a foul on him...
TriniKing_CE
Vintage Ronaldinho skills there 43min
Coldest
You know, I understand Club America... What should they do ? He's unstoppable tonight. biggrin.gif I'am just looking and can't believe in my eyes... All I can say is.... Let the show begin

About referee. I don't know why he's behaving like this...
Tennie
Fishdoll peeks in at halftime.

Well, the team's still working on preparation so there are still quite a few rough edges. America's the stronger team but there are some bright spots despite the fact that the strikers are hardly getting a look and Antonini is looking pretty rough.

* Nesta is looking rather like the old Nesta.
* Rino is snarling away.
* Ronaldinho is showing glimpses of brilliance.

On a side note, Fishdoll doesn't want to dump Alexi Lalas headfirst into the piranha tank, much to his surprise. Lalas is giving pretty decent commentary.
kurtsimonw
At the risk of looking stupid.. who are we actually playing?
Tennie
Club America, one of Mexico's biggest teams. Pavel Pardo, who did a couple of years at Stuttgart, is their captain (though he didn't play the first half).
Coldest
Will be penalties if the result stays tie ?

Things becoming heated. First an altrecation with Rino and then with Janku. Both over small fouls that they have been doing to Dinho all game long
han2503

Coldest
