The game at Villa Park has turned from one of the worst games I've seen in recent times to absolute madness in 7 minutes!

It's not often you win 6-1, a player scores a hat-trick and you think a defender is MotM. Matt Lowton with the best defensive performance I have ever seen, by anyone. He was a complete rock defensively and looked like Ronaldo going forward. His performance was truly off the scale.
Someone else posted the stats on another forum.
* 96% passing accuracy from 76 passes - the most of all Villa players
* 113 touches - the most of all Villa players
* 5 key passes
* 5/5 accurate long balls
* 1/1 accurate through balls
* 3 tackles - joint highest
* 5 interceptions - highest
* Not dispossessed, did not turnover the ball
Holy ****. STATGASM

Me and my Newcastle supporting friend went to West Brom today since we needed them to win. OF COURSE THEY LOST! Cunch of bunts springs to mind.
At least Villa won. We love you Lambo, we do!

You watching the playoffs at all Ash? This Brentford-Swindon game is brilliant!
EDIT: Unreal game of football. Swindon have a shot cleared off the line in the last minute, then score the resulting corner! 3-3, 4-4 on aggregate. Brentford missed a penalty in the last minute of the regular season which meant they didn't go up, now they fucked it up in the last minute of their playoff SF so extra time we go!

Yeah mate had them on, quite enjoy watching them all the ties with possibly the exception of the Cheltenham game have been great watches. Think the Championship ones kick off Thursday evening so that should be good too.
Just have that weird quite long delay this year due to the Champions League final being at Wembley, though saying that at least they didn't shift the games to OT again.

Yeah the Cheltenham one has been the only one that wasn't especially great, but was still alright.

Just found out about Ferguson's retirement.
Man U will never be the same again...
I pity the poor man who's going to replace him. won't be easy. if it turns out to be easy, we can safely say "it's still Fergie's team"!

Yeah, exactly what I was thinking. They're mentioning Moyes, Klopp or Mourinho. The first one being the favourite.
Still all of them would come under such heavy scrutiny, I can't imagine how the fans and media will receive him, even Mourinho

Bookies wouldn't be taking bets on it if it was still confirmed. As far as they're concerned it's Mourinho vs Moyes for United.

Yeah, we've been hearing about Jose taking his place for years now.
Don't know, personally I don't understand Moyes, where has he suddenly cropped up from? Isn't he the Everton coach or am I mixing him with someone else?
Zed.D
May 8 2013, 04:10 PM
LOL same here. I didn't even know who Moyes was. checked his wiki and was surprised to find out he's been at Everton for 11 years. but that's what happens when you don't follow a league apart from the very big games.
I can't see Mourinho at United at all. I don't think he'd want to stay there for long and I believe since Ferguson is also staying within the club that they want another long-term coach (obviously not for the next 27 years).

Moyes is a truly outstanding manager. He has a pretty small budget to work with and yet is always finishing in the European positions and even managed to qualify for the CL. Moyes has been tipped as Fergie's successor for quite a while now.

This guy is a complete tool. He was disrespectful to Villa 2 summers ago and then Liverpool last summer, now it's Evertons turn. He's the worst kind of chairman who thinks everything is about him. Apparently he's leading Wigan out at Wembley instead of Martinez on Saturday which does not surprise me at all.
I hope the rest of the Premier League will thank us if we send this dinosaur back to the Championship on the final day!

Moyes will be United manager.
Looks like Rooney is on his way out, can't really see Ronaldo coming back to play under him either.
This really makes next year interesting.

May 10 2013, 05:01 AM
I really rate Moyes, but I don't think the 1st manager after Fergie would work pretty much no matter who it was. With Fergie still at the club, it's going to undermine almost anything the new boss does and the pressure is going to be almost impossible to cope with after every dropped point. Doesn't help that United have had one of their best ever seasons either really.
I think Mancini is starting to go stale at City already and with this change at United, it's perfect timing for Mourinho to come back and get Chelsea a title next season.

Good to see refs are still ruining games. Terry should've been sent off twice and stays on all game. Benteke then gets sent off for making no contact with someone who shouldn't have even been on the pitch.

Mancini has to go you would think. FA Cup final loss, no wins in the CL, no trophies overall. He seems to have no plan for the team, they have no distinct style or identity. They are a total bore to watch as well.

The new EPL revenue in comparison to the old deal.

I think the way we breakdown the money in the country is pretty fair and not all that different from the US revenue sharing. The major difference in the money made by teams is the "merit payment" which is done by position. Even the worst teams in the league will be looking at over £50m - the playoff finals are going to be so important to clubs now, potentially an extra £50m per season at stake for the winner!

To put it into a bit of context. The player taking the Leicester penalty clearly dived. It was as blatent a dive as you will see. The tie is at 2-2 on aggregate and going to extra time if it stays like that, the winner goes to the playoff final.
