QUOTE (Milan Are Brilliant @ Dec 5 2012, 06:01 PM)

But football is looked after well, incredibly well in this country. Why should tax payers have to pay for £60m to make this a football stadium... ah forget it, whatever.
Because it makes money. It's like someone on £100k a year compared to someone on £15k a year, one of them is going to be given a mortgage, one probably isn't. It's all about money and people don't care enough about athletics outside big events to put money into it. It's a worldwide issue, not just here.

West Ham won't sell out without significantly reducing ticket prices, they don't even sell out Upton Park each week, though I go back to my previous point. Who signs these things off for F sake? If the business model was to give it to a football stadium because that's the only sport the government deems worthwhile then why was there a £115m overhead on top of what was initially paid (with public money), whilst at the same time having no one to cover these costs, fully. Where the club in question only wants to produce 10% from their assets to pump into the global figure. If not for the investor there would have still been £100m left over, least it's slightly reduced but it's still £60m.
With the state of the country and the economy that sort of public spending really shouldn't be put into something just to appease the footballing world. It should have been factored into development and sustainability of the project. If football wants it just give it to them but tell them to pay whatever it is to update the ground for this and when it doesn't work don't bail them out, let them liquidate and they can have the risk attached to their 'loan' just as any other consortium would.
Guess it just sums up this tin-pot government.

Eh, I was kidding.

Obviously there are only two possibilities. Someone found it, like you say. Or the someone in the source (meaning from where it was originally printed) leaked it out. Interesting, nevertheless.
