What was Koscielny thinking? You can't make such a blatent grab on a player and pull him to the ground and expect to get away with it, red card and penalty. Madness.
Dzeko hits Schezny with the penalty, it then hits the post and rolls along the line back to the keeper!

How did Adkins get sacked for some guy with a flamboyant name who doesn't even speak English properly.
Hope they go down.
Rickie Lambert might be a target for a few now, can hardly see an Argentinian playing him up front.

Jan 19 2013, 01:43 AM
Very strange. They've recently got draws with Arsenal and Chelsea and won a relegation 6-pointer away at Villa and they sack him. Makes no sense. Especially when you replace him with a manager with little experience who didn't even do all that well in his last job.
What a way to repay a guy who took you from League 1 to the Premier League.
Fillipo Simone
Jan 19 2013, 10:28 AM
I've read somewhere that he was not sacked but replaced and it was a mutual understanding. Adkins battled with stress, maybe it's that "burnout" syndrome.

Supporters Group have put forward a proposal that all away tickets should be £20, Premier League apparently looking into it. Premier League also considered making away travel free. People **** on the FA a lot, but they're about the only league who distributes tv money fairly and if either of these were to happen that would boost attendances again.
I think if any it will be the free travel which happens. It'll also allow clubs to keep a better eye on who is going to away games and try and keep the trouble makers out.

We're ok with finances, reason being we sell anyone who looks at all half decent and are left with a bunch of morons until we repeat the process, bit like Milan these days in that respect.
Villa 1-1 Bradford (they're in our division) after 60 mins, currently 2-4 on aggregate in the League Cup semi-final and Villa have a close to first available XI out. Pretty crazy. If they make the final it's probably the biggest shock in recent memory taking into account they knocked Arsenal (again near enough full strength) out on the way too.
Milan Are Brilliant
Jan 22 2013, 10:37 PM
Bradford make the final unbelievable.
Apologies to Kurt but seriously for a League 2 team to do this, is just ridiculous.
I'm clearly a fan of a team in the league and not just doing it to P you off.

Tie was over when Dowd was appointed.

Fair play to Bradford though. Amazing story and their fans were superb before the game. Very grounded and respectful. Makes you wonder why they are where they are. Way too big a club with too good a support to be down there.
Saw a little kid in a Bradford shirt before the game with his dad and you could see the excitement on his face. "Daddy, look how big the stadium is!" made me smile. This is why I love the Cup. Part of me genuinely doesn't care we lost, Bradford deserved it and I hope they play Swansea in the final.

I don't know, our League 1/2 clubs are looked after as well as most 2nd division sides in other countries. Our Championship sides more than half the top league teams.
Anyway I think Lambert has to go. Not defending set peices is on the manager when it happens week in, week out, with different players. The only reason I was happy to give him a bit more time was that when you're in a cup SF I don't think it's fair to sack him. He's MONv2 for me - tactical knowledge of a fish. Having 4 strikers on whore all basically standing in the same spot, laughable.
I'd bring a defensive manager in until the end of the season who's got experience in relegation battles.

Whether he deserved it or not is irrelevant imo. Was the boy being a right old pain in the @ss trying to win a couple of seconds for his team? Yes, but kicking him????? Just goes to show what classless, moronic idiots players are these days

From what I understand of the situation, it looks like the guy was asking for it. Now Hazard is gonna be fined and bombarded with a tsunami of negative publicity. I don't think he did the "right" thing, but people also should not expect to get away with as much dumb sh1t as they they think they should. A kick in the butt once in a while gives you a bit of perspective.

It's wrong in a very mild sense. Calling it 'assault' is going overboard. The kid had it coming, and just like Hazard he should be punished as well.
kurtsimonw
Jan 24 2013, 04:14 PM
FA have said he won't be punished. Seeing a different angle there really wasn't much (if any) contact at all as he clearly just kicks the ball from underneath him. I suppose a red card and the suspension he'll get is punishment enough.

Another conceded from a corner, happy days. Fortunately they won it in the last minute. A replay would've been the worst possible outcome.

Incredible to say it but Eck was so much better for Villa than Lambert.
His reign has been atrocious, and while Eck wasn't Mr Popular it never sunk anything like this.
And that's not me being biased - I don't actually hate Lambert and think he's a promising manager, but he has utterly failed to grasp management of a club of this magnitude. And this is no insult Kurt when I say Villa are not the biggest side around.
