IF I WAS A REAL MADRID FAN (dst will quote this sh!t I bet  biggrin.gif ), I'd be happy with the result and this pathetic lost vs. Sevilla at home.

This will guarantee some more top-reinforcements to the team. I wouldn't be surprise if Madrid wasted some more 70M/euros or so in the market. Their directors are volatile so this could be the best news for them.

That is a good point.

You only find out what your weaknesses are when they're exploited, a good thing it happened when the transfer window was still open.

So by relation, since we have won the Berlusconi trophy, we don't need anyone??? ohmy.gif

Sevilla are the greatest team I've ever (and I mean ever!) watched in counter-attacks... Madrid had to open up to win on aggregate and they got hammered!!

Since you like Sevilla you might have checked their records... they seem to be doing much better away from home when their opponents do not closed down in defence...

Madrid do not have a real no.10 and they played with 4 new and unexperinced players last night ( 2 of them being defenders... )... Milan's success is not a big secret... they have a solid core they built on! Madrid try to built solely on their past... which is not possible, they should get over it! It's not that they need more players, it's that they need to buy the ones they need for a change and also not field a player who doesn't even know his teammate's names (Sneijder...)!! rolleyes.gif

Yes, but it's difficult to find a player in the market that can push them to "the other level", I mean - the true-Madrid level where every team fear them. They need a boost.

Robben would be one - the best LW in the game, but he'll need time to adapt.

Without C.Ronaldo and Kaka', I think there's only 1 player in the market that could make instant-impact in Madrid's game, not only as RB but as RW too. This fella:

I think he's not only the best RB in the world but one of the best players in the game.
But it seems he's on his way to Chelsea...

IMO Madrid doesn't need more players.

Neither will Schuster bring Madrid success, the type of football that Schuster plays is an open game. A club of Madrid's stature needs a solid midfield with a good understanding with the defense.

It was a pathetic display .. Especially since it was at home!

What is the point in buying players like Robinho, Cicinho, etc etc Just because they were hyped up to become the next big star rolleyes.gif Maybe I am blaming too much on Schuster, or better yet Calderon .. But in all honesty, Madrid's downfall began when Makelele was sold (i.e. their policy) !

Yes they are .. But that was under Capello's management .. Just to clear this up, I would rather Madrid won again and not Barca .. wink.gif

I actually want Sevilla to win this one. I don't think Madrid deserve this year's title. I don't think they deserved last year's too to be honest. It was just that they deserved it more than Barca. Both teams are cr@p and for the amount they invested in their transfers have come up with fack all.

Sevilla or Valencia for me. Back to the days when the game was about footballing teams and not footballing celebrities.

Manchester United defender Gabriel Heinze has agreed to join Real Madrid.
A statement on the Real Madrid website, confirmed by Man Utd, said the clubs had agreed a fee and Heinze will sign a four-year contract.

The Argentine had his heart set on a move to Liverpool and took his case to a Premier League tribunal after United refused to sell him to their rivals.

But after a League panel ruled against Heinze, the 29-year-old agreed to join Real for a reported £8m fee.

The move brings to an end Heinze's three-season stay at Old Trafford.

The defender proved a big hit with United fans when he arrived but after recovering from a serious knee injury at the start of the 2005/6 season, he found his first-team place occupied by Patrice Evra.

Liverpool tabled a bid of more than £6.8m in the belief United would be forced to sell after quoting that figure in a letter to Heinze's agent.

However, United refused to let the defender join their bitter rivals and though he considered an appeal against the Premier League's ruling, Heinze instead opted for a move to Spain.

Heinze will undergo a medical in Madrid before completing the move which will see him replace veteran Brazilian Roberto Carlos, who left the Bernabeu in the summer.

So it seems like Madrid also signed Arjen Robben! Even if he's a Dutch, I do not like him and I don't mean as a player (he's very good)... it's just that he's, as Porty would say, a c_nt!

But everything came back to normal! When I read Madrid signed Heinze I though hey that's a useful signing for them, what a surprise! But now they also got the Dutch... I'm glad nothing's changed! smile.gif

Capello: The Problems With Madrid's Signing Policy

Fabio Capello's tell-all interview on life at Madrid threw up some more surprises today as Marca published part two of its findings. The former Real Madrid coach looked back on his tenure as boss, most notably to the way that Ramon Calderon's hierarchy managed its transfer dealings...

Fabio Capello's interview in Marca continued today with the Italian boss revealing yet more startling insight into the inner workings of Real Madrid.

The Italian coach, sacked earlier this summer, expressed with disbelief the difference in resources allocated to him, compared to new coach Bernd Schuster.

"The strange thing is that they only gave me 30 million euros to make signings," he said, compared to the Madrid total this year that's already topping the 100 million mark.

What's more, he said that, in the transfer market, timing is everything - and they almost got it wrong last year.

"We made a miracle in building the squad that we did.You can't form a winning team in July. That's what seems to be happening to them now," he claimed.

And with this, he reflected on a wider theme: the lack of planning in the transfer market.

"It's necessary to make signings in May," said Capello. "We had everything prepared to sign players, but they are not signed, never signed.

"We had a 6 million (euro) bid for Chivu in April, with 3.5 for the player. [Franco] Baldini [sporting director] had it all sorted, but it wasn't possible to close the deal because they told us, 'We don't love players who come from the Italian league."

Seemingly, Italy wasn't the only problem. Brazil, was, too. Pato, Brazilian wunderkind who just signed for AC Milan, was apparently also a target.

Capello said, "Beldini went to Brazil and saw Pato. He called [Pedrag] Mijatovic [sporting director] and said, 'I've seen a lad here, and he's an extraordinary player.

"With a bit of luck - and considering he shared a representative with Emerson - we could have got him for 2 million euros... but Madrid said, 'No, too young.' And now he's worth 20 million..."

Capello also revealed that he pleaded with Mijatovic not to sell Roberto Carlos, but this request fell on deaf ears. Equally futile, he claims, is anything relating to Kaka.

The Italian coach blasted, "For me, we never even had the possibility of signing him. I have always said that to Pedja and the president.

"To [president Ramon] Calderon I said, you are failing here. [Milan president] Berlusconi doesn't lack money and has a 'pretty face' at Milan - who is it? It was Maldini before, but now it is Kaka.

"The boy in all the photos is Kaka. And Berlusconi, who lives an aesthetic life, and loves the aesthetic players, will never let such a man go."

Capello closed by wishing new coach Bernd Schuster the best of luck and pledging his support to the side for the new season, but ruled out a third strike at the Bernabeu job.

He said, "I've returned once and made extraordinary work...but I won't return to Real Madrid to coach. Count on it."

Didn't know that Pato and Chivu were done deals for them...

In fact Calderon wanted Schuster 1 year before that. But the rest of the directors wanted Capello so it was.

From what I've heard Real is playing really well, creating chances, etc. Oh, and this is without Robben.

Of course they're playing well... Atlético is not a totally defensive team... anyone can find space against them and Real have a great squad... it'd be a shame if they couldn't even do that! They also have lost great chances (Atletico). Robben won't make that big a difference in my opinion...

Scary moments for Sevilla. Antonio Puerta collapsed during the game - Drago had to pry his jaw open to help clear his airway - and has been taken to hospital. He's conscious but is in intensive care with cardiovascular and breathing problems.
