I wouldn't be the farm on it, if I were you. Carlo's been through more and stuck on. unsure.gif I think if we somehow win the UEFA Cup, there is a chance we'll see him next season too. I don't mind him too much as a coach, but it's his stubbornness that does me in.

Nah... He is going to Man City... They're certainly paving the way for him!

Well, most coaches are stubborn. I'd pick Carlo's stubborness over Mancini's flexibility every day!

Winning uefa cup at this point in my opinion is not even a priority. We should be worried about getting 4th w/o kaka.

If we lose Kaka (which is looking very likely mad.gif ) we need to bring back Yoann no matter what it takes. We need to start rebuilding now, we're losing our entire backbone in a matter of months. We either be pro-active and sign at least 5 top class players (not including Yoann) this summer, or we could fall apart faster then you can say the sentence.

That's the thing though... 100 million pounds is not THAT much money after all... Clubs will know we have 100 mill, they will shoot up their prices... We will be looking at a very tough market after this. ESPECIALLY for world class players. I have no doubt.

That's why we need to do whatever we can to convince Gourcuff to come back.

That's exactly what I'm worrying about, that and the names already being thrown around, Adebayour!!!

Not only that, but I know for a fact that they well still be hesitant about spending. Look what happened with the Sheva money. Nothin good came out of that 30m, and we struggled badly without our 20+ goal a season striker. This time it will be even worse because back then we still have Kaka, now we have no one. Pato is still too young to expect to carry the team like Kaka does.

It's good timing anyway... Carletto's time has been up for a while... All I know is that Gourcuff is worth WAY more than 15 mil at this stage.

@han:

Wasn't the Sheva money used to pay off the last of our debts? I think so. Because, besides Yoann, the Ronaldo purchase was made with Silvio's money (rolleyes.gif, yup he can bankroll that one!). In any case the CL earnings etc was what funded our current campaign.

You're right, massive re-building is in order, but I wouldn't worry about the names being bandied about. They're just the naive press hanging onto twigs.

I'd like <true blue target man who won't get injured>, Yoann (since Kaka's being sold,he'll get more space with the board no longer worried about accomodating R80), Diego, Chiellini/Criscito,Clichy.

But I guess we'd get Mexes most probably.

Suddenly Abbiati doesn't look so bad! biggrin.gif

Funny how suddenly everyone's forgotten the goal keeping situation, I'll give it till the next Abbiati blunder wink.gif

To tell you the truth I don't know where the Sheva money went? At that time no one was talking about financial difficuilties, the board didn't bat their eyes at the 20+ million spalshed out on Gila at the time. Then players like Oliveira were brought in and that's how the Sheva money went, it was practically thrown away.

As for the defence, Chiellini is a dream that cannot happen, no way Juve will sell. I think Roma would be the place to go shopping should the mangement be willing to spend some of the money from the Kaka transfer.

Mexes, De Rossi/Aquilani, those would be the players I would like to see us going after. The striker would probably have to wait if we get Yoann, we either play a 4-3-2-1 still with Yoann and Dinho behind Pato or we switch to 4-3-1-2 with Sheva and Pippo playing the box strikers that Pato floates around. The defence is a much more critical position that needs to be taken care of.
KillerMax
I just can't ****ing belive all this financial BS... How much did we spend on Oliveira? How about Boriello? A player we owned just a season ago. If they are in that much trouble, why all the stupid and careless decisions then?

Good point rolleyes.gif

Do we have to have so many [washed-up] stars? get rid of them, build the team around Kaka by buying young & promising players.

And a big fat LOL at the thinking some people have that "Milan don't need a good Primavera system. Milan go buy the best out there".

suddenly our our managements recent mistakes seem amplified 100 fold.

Coach Laurent Blanc has just renewed with Bordeaux. I think that makes it more likely they'll cough up the 15 million (if they have it?) for Gourcuff. Not sure, though.

Too many players ahead of him I don't think it will happen, especially if Beckham somehow stays with us.

QUOTE
Yohann Gourcuff could not return to Milan more. To say this is Carlo Ancelotti, interviewed by the magazine So Foot. "His return is difficult but not impossible," notes the coach, which does not spare any criticism of the French: "When I gave him the minute he tried to show so much and the end was too individualistic. The player is without doubt of great value, but his head was a problem when he was with us. "

Yeah you gave him 15 minutes @sshole, what do you expect him to do? Give me him at least 10 games starting and he'll show you what he can do. The only reason pato didn't fall into this trap was because he scored everytime he was put on and gila was useless then. Had gourcuff done the same he wouldn't be at bordeaux right now.

I counting down the days till this piece of s*** gets fired.
Tennie
I agree with Ancelotti on this one. Speaking for the two games in which I saw him play (both in 06/07) in person Gourcuff did tend to play selfishly.

Has he since grown out of it? Quite possibly. Don't really know as I don't watch French league games.

Judging from the Bordeaux games I've seen he's still the one-man-show player.

He's still the same player. But what i really find irionic is that Kaka and Pato can be indiviualistic on the ball as much as they want, but when gourcuff tries it, he would get mad at him. He's doing the same to dinho this year.

Seedorf is an example too. No matter how bad he playes he doesn't warned for it. Gourcuff makes one bad pass, doesn't get to play at all in the next game.

Interesting, I disagree but If gourcuff comes back to milan we will see. But I doubt he will return as long as carlo is coach.
dst
Well, no one's denying Gourcuff's game had flaws, WHAT DID WE EXPECT FROM A 20 YEAR OLD ANYWAY!?? I think it was more than worth giving him time and making a better player though... but The Amazing Seedorf was there so... the Dutch of course is a player of great quality but the way he is playing, there's not doubt Gourcuff can do better. Quality alone is not enough, you need to have a good work rate too (and vice versa) and in my eyes, Seedorf's work rate is zer000!

I hope so man, but i doubt it. Not as long as we have a mental handicap as coach.
Zed.D
After playing so many years for Milan, Seedorf is completely integrated with the team and Carlo's philosophy. doesn't mean he's better than Gourcuff. just that in Carlo's Milan, he looks better/Gourcuff looks confused.

Under a new coach things could be completely different IMO. Gourcuff could be shown the trust he is now in Bordeaux, and Seedorf could be dropped from the week in week out XI because of his work rate.

PS: it's not just work rate and laziness though. Seedorf is getting old, he's nearly 33. maybe he just can't give more?

quote me on this but under rijkaard, seedorf would never see as much playing time as he is now. Just under the mental handicap he gets to play every single game.
dst
That's correct, Seedorf is doing a special job in the team but that's only because we want him to do that job. It's certainly not like we can't do without him, he's not a vital member. I'm at a loss to explain why he plays every week when most of the times he's terrible, surely a decent player (Gourcuff is at least decent) can not much better.
Fillipo Simone
Now this here makes me sad.

Seedorf is getting old, naturally. He's human. He has a poor season. But, his role in the team is important. I see his abilities and overall capability still match Milan's needs and dimensions.

Gourcuff scored 6 in French league, Seedorf 4 in italian league. Shall I continue? It's sad to read "mental handicap" for Ancelotti and such a rigidity when it comes to a player most of you here saw play a few Champions League matches. I just cannot accept to discuss about Gourcuff based on the sole fact that "he's talented and he's doing good" while that "doing good" stays a relative term defined by half-informations and second-hand sources. I'm sorry but I won't continue this discussion any more.

It might just indicate that Gourcuff isn't the world-beater some people seem to think he is.
