unsure.gif good bye yoann. the guy is going to another powerhouse team sometime in the near future. if only he'd have waited it out and played under a new coach here, im sure he would have earned his place in the starting XI. we mismanaged his talent. we had a perfect opportunity to phase him into seedorfs role, and have him be the linking midfielder with a nice range of passing, a nice touch, and the ability to create and score from distance. i hope management use this 15 Million prudently, but for some reason i'm skeptical, well prlly use it to buy sheva or something, lol.

I was disappointed when I saw the announcement, but that's yesterday! sometimes that line in Fillipo's sig makes so much sense, no use crying over spilt milk! I'm not sad about losing Gourcuff anymore, but I am worried about our future.

@ han

Who knows where will Gourcuff be in one or two years' time? he could end up in another powerhouse...

We'll get our answer regarding Yoann once that move actually happens...

I guess we'll see whether or not we were the ones who made the mistake. dry.gif

It was probably an unfair statement on my part.

Especially now looking at the situation after Gourcuff made his decision. If he wanted to really prove himself he would have come back and made Carlo eat his words. But he chose the easy way out and stayed with the smaller club in the inferior league. It's his problem if this is the only thing he'll aspire to in his carreer.

Although I am still not over the fact of how he was treated by Carlo

Its hard to blame Gourcuff for not coming back han.
Look at it this way, at the moment he is performing well in a team which plays around him. Should he have come back to us, he risks the chance of what happened initially repeating itself (not to mention Milan was not going to rebuild our team to play around him, maybe that's the type of team Gourcuff needs, a team which plays around him not one in which he needs to integrate himself. Similar to say that of Zizou or Roman)
***just examples - please don't focus on them and take this too technical***.

As far as I am concerned I am sure if he came he would have probably help us and we in return would have helped him grow a player as well. But maybe he knows to himself he isn't ready for a Big European team just yet. Maybe as Zed.D says he would need a bit of time, and then in the near future he would make up his mind to make a leap in his career to a more prestigious team possibly becoming a Quote: 'powerhouse'.

As it currently stands, I find it a little harsh to call it a cowardly move on Gourcuff's part, after all he will be playing CL again come next season, on Sunday he could possibly win the French League Title with Bordeaux, and lets not forget he is still quite young and France is his home, maybe he actually just feels comfortable at there and really likes Bordeaux.

His future has some good way to play out, and as much as I would have loved to see him succeed at Milan, truth be told he would possibly go on to do it somewhere else anyway.

After all he wasn't attached to our club (he could have been), but he wasn't given the support he deserved or confidence placed in him that he needed. He has moved on and now so should we.

I will continue to support him as long as he keeps on the right path. wink.gif

+1 worldclass post.

Agree with you Trini

I wasn't really placing the blame on just him, even if it came out that way. I think everyone knows how I feel about Carlo's treatment towrds Yoann...

But I do also think that Yoann did not want to make the effort to come back and prove Carlo wrong. He knows we'll have a different coach next season. I think it would have been a good time for him to return and make his mark.

But like I said in my previous post, it's his choice and at the end of the day it's his carreer...

i was reading gallianis comments bout the gourcuff transfer and altho he was dissapointed bout not bringin him back it was his fault becuase he wouldnt guarantee him playing time and for that reason was what convinced gourcuff to stay rather then come back. like how stupid are you...do you not watch any of milans games to see that serdoff does nothing for us and to even think ahead to see that we need a quality replacement for him anyway since his contract is up next season...and even still you dont even need to look at it like that since he can play anywhere in the midfield! and he has the balls to say we only baught him for 3 million and sold him for 15 so it was a good investment, clearly he doesnt care but building a team and winning games he just cares bout making money. well if u build a winning team winning earns you money and sponserships its not rocket science.
dst
I do like Gourcuff and I have lost some respect for Galliani over the years but: Why would he guarantee him a starting place?!?

We could very well be playing something like this next season:
Gattuso Flamini
Kaka Ronaldinho
Pato Pippo

What if we get another midfielder too? What if the new coach (if we get one) does not like him either? The kid wants to play in the World Cup did you want Galliani to lie to him and then let him come here and lose his place in the France NT? That would be totally unfair and shameful, Galliani did the right thing for a change, he should not have lied to him, there was simply no guarantee that he would play!
Zed.D
The new coach (if there is one) should have guaranteed Yoann a starting place not Galliani. maybe if we hadn't lost to Roma and secured direct qualification to CL group stages the new coach would have been announced the following day and therefore Yoann would have known whether he was in the new coach's plans or not before deciding anything. I suppose the Roma game loss deprived us of a proper celebration for Maldini, Yoann and maybe even direct CL qualification.

But there is no new coach so...let's move forward.

Maybe for tomorrow, but we need to think of the future, and Carlo is definately not our future.

@ dst, Pirlo has to be part of the line up. I know he's not been all that great but can you really blame him? He's so ristricted nowadays under Carlo, not to mention overplayed.

I think a new coach would really help Pirlo re-discover himself again.

For me personally, I' like to have this starting 11 for next season

Zambro--Nesta--CB*1--LB*2
Flamini--Pirlo--CM*3
Kaka
Pato--Dinho

*1: A world class center back is something we should have taken care of years ago, but it's still a position that we have not addressed despite knowing Nesta's injury problems and Paolo's retirement. Next season we need to make sure the defence is covered, we still need to get a top class CB despite having Silva in order to always be there as a starter because we all know Nesta is not reliable when it comes to injuries. So if we have both Nesta and the new CB fit, great on us, but if Nesta is out injured we'd still have a rock solid defender to rely on next to Silva. Not having to depend on a defence of Silva and Favalli/Bonera next season, because that is not good enough for the CL, no matter what Galliani says.

*2: Janku is not good enough anymore, not in defence or attack, he's really declined at an amazing rate between these last 2 season. And he's simply not a reliable LB for us any longer, he's good enough to keep as a sub but not as a starter.

*3: We need a midfielder that is pure box to box, can do the defencive work but is still good at pushing forward. Maybe we'll be smart for once and get Essien from Chelsea in exchange for Seedorf + money, because you know Carlo will want to take Seedorf with him ( fiesta.gif )

I think the Brazilian trio can work great together, it's just that Carlo was never smart enough to actually manage to play them together. He always constricted Dinho to the left wing and Kaka in the middle and right and it wasn't working. Maybe the new coach will actually be able to make these 3 tick together. Because I'm positive that if they're used right they can in fact make magic together, but not under Carlo's rigid system

Congrats to Gourcuff and Bordeaux for winning Ligue 1!
TriniKing_CE
Bordeaux's goal which ensured them top place in League 1.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ESMHtUo5rGs

Bordeaux scored the only goal in the 49th minute when Yoann Gourcuff's free kick found Benoit Tremoulinas sprinting down the left, and his cross was headed in by Yoan Gouffran, against his former team.

Congrats Yoann, may this just be the begining of many successes to follow.
Bluesummers
@han, your assuming we will play 4-3-1-2.

We are speculating far too much when we dont even know who the coach is and what kind of players he likes. I could see us sign 1 or 2 players next season or we could sell half the squad and rebuild the team entirely.

The only player's spot who is safe right now is Gattuso because he is our captain next term.

I wouldn't be so sure of that. Ambro IS ahead of him when it comes to seniority. And once next season starts you can't be sure if it will be Flamini, Rino or Ambro who starts in the DM poisition.

Nothing is certain. But yes I am assuming that we'll be playing 4-3-1-2, if we don't bring in any different players (wingers) our formation possibilities are pretty limited because of the type of players we have
Bluesummers
berlu said gattuso is captain for the next term. Its already confirmed.
Fillipo Simone
This is getting irritating to me. Rookie "coach" to be appointed (and yes, he does not have a coach license and I don't get why people threat that as "just a small formality"), now the regular vice-captain that should have become captain get's demoted,..what's next? A amateur doctor from Liberia taking over Milanlab?
Zed.D
Now you're feeling the same way we did in the past couple of years, Fillipo. it's fair enough biggrin.gif

Like zeddie said, now you're feeling the bitter frustration we've been feeling for these last 3 years. Only now its starting to effect you since you had no problem with Carlo.

At this point I'm with zeddie, anyone is better then Carlo, enough is enough, I'm with you, I don't like the fact that Leonardo will be the one that replaces Carlo, because there is a serious risk of him simply not being a good coach. I do think though that a lot of the current squad problems we have because of Carlo's fixed 1st 11 will lessen with any coach in charge that is not Carlo, no more Seedorf every week even if he's playing like cr@p, no more of the same tactics and formation that do not work. I think the main pro when it comes to Leonardo I think is that he's a reasonable person that will take criticsm to heart and will learn from his mistakes unlike Carlo

And who knows, he might surprise all of us wink.gif

What about Van der Vaart?
kurtsimonw
van der Vaart seems to be back in the frame at Real and has been playing well of late, don't think we'll get him unless we're prepared to spend big.
