Any moment now. cry.gif Seeing our Golden Boy for the last time in a Milan shirt! And what we're doing to him, there is no chance in hell he'll ever come back to us, like Sheva or others did.

We're just being fooled by journalistic fantasy.

If Kaka stays it will be a releaf. For 100% of Milan fans.

If Kaka leaves, life goes on. Milan still stands.

QUOTE (Tennie @ Jan 16 2009, 11:28 PM) *
Sounds to me like this place has become AC Kaka.

I don't get either of you. What does Milan still stands mean? Milan will always stand even if they kicked out Maldini. That's not what's at stake here... the thing is, we're turning into what we have been laughing at, take a step back and see it at last!
And it's not about Kaka. Whoever was in his place and was just sold for the "right price" as it seems to be would get the same treatment from the fans. Of course Milan is bigger than any individual but Milan is after all a team and she consists of players. As of yesterday we were proud of how they treated them but suddenly it does not matter anymore because Milan will still exist tomorrow, right? No one said Milan would be destroyed if Kaka left. With the money that will come this way a team much stronger and more successful can be built. But I did not know we were here only to celebrate Milan's victories. I thought a fan loves his club for what it is and represents not for its victories...

It's not AC Kaka'...It'll be still AC Milan....but, I'll be cheering them with a little less conviction today against Fiorentina. I'm really desapointed about all this stuff....If Kaka' wants to go, life goes on....team goes on.
But here something its changing...the spirit of AC Milan have been sold....we are a step closer to became a Real Madrid, Chelsea or Inter kind...we are losing the class. We are selling real love. Feels like Milan have betrayed its Symbol.

When Kaka' said he wanted to get old in the team and become the captain, i was very happy. I though the only way Kaka' would leave was if he wanted....I never imagine that AC Milan would want to sell him, not even for all the money in the world....now I can't trust in the society anymore

Sad...really sad....

dst, we turned into a circus worthy of scorn the moment we signed Ronaldo. And then Ronaldinho. And then Beckham. We became a team looking only to sell jerseys and be in the media a long time before Man City made their bid. There was precious little of Milan's reputation left at the beginning of this week. The Kaka saga hasn't improved things; far from it, it's only completed the cycle.

What I don't quite understand is why nobody else sees that and only focuses on the Kaka thing.

Excellent and true post, dst. king.gif It matters not which players come and go, how many owners does the club change hands into, who coaches for how long, thing is Milan the club isn't going anywhere. It's been here for over a 100 years, and there is no reason why it won't be here after another 100. But how we conduct ourselves is all that matters.

Fans and press said we sold our soul when Beckham came here. cry.gif I wonder what's this, then?

Can't really agree with the Ronaldo thing (we needed someone in the attack then, and while there were better options available at that time), he wasn't exactly brought in to sell jerseys. He was here to help us reach the 4th place. He did his best, how ever fate allowed him. At least he helped us land Pato. unsure.gif Other than that, Becks and Bucktooth, we could have done without. They're just here to bring in $$$.

Circus it is, yes.

I think we've long past seen that and come to live with it in piece. You know that I accepted the route the management took in order to make up for losses because of the the CL, Dinho and Beckham to be exact. But I always saw it as a route the club took in order too keep all the stars and keep them happy. But now, having lived with the fact that they've turned Milan into a retirment home for old Gollacticos, I have to also stand here and see them sell off Kaka to the highest bidder is a bitter pill that I just cannot swollow.

There could have been better solutions then this, one of them getting rid of the free loaders on the team that get wages higher then Maldini's and kicking their @sses out the door.

Our management have stooped to a new low that I would have never though possible.

Because until now, even with Ronaldo, Ronaldinho and Beckham Milan still was the team that stood by its players more than any other. Until now Milan was the team that waited for Pippo to return, that stayed alongside Ambro despite all his injuries, that tried hard to convince Gattuso to stay when everyone was saying he was finished, that despite their age still renewed Maldini's, Costacurta's, Favalli's contract. Until now even with those players you mentioned the fans were still proud of these things that made Milan special... I fail to see what's so special about Milan right now.

+1. sad.gif Also as long as you're winning titles, the money comes automatically. Kaka would have helped us win more than the 100+ million that we tagged him with. I'm not even saying he was unsellable, but now was certainly not the time. Not before until he turned 30 and/or wanted to leave.

I'm having the same trouble, dst. Do I still support the club? Yes. Do I think that at this point with what we know (leaving aside the possibility that details will filter out in the future) now that Milan is substantially different from other clubs? Not really. Am I disappointed? Absolutely. thing is, my disappointment has been building for a couple of years, so this latest blow isn't quite the shock to me as it seems to be for a lot of others.
han2503
Now I'm just waiting for Galliani to come out and say that the team is fine as it is and there won't be any transfers made after he gets his big pay day.

well guys enjoy seeing san siro empty for a while. I doubt this management will make it past 2010 unless some drastic measures are taken.

whether or not kaka goes i think it's undeniable that thw two teams are in talks about kaka, and milan are willing to part ways. it's funny because just two days ago galliani said kaka is untouchable, they said the same about real came knocking. but to do that isnt usual galliani bs, this is disgracing the club and everything it stands for, and silvio is just as guilty. if kaka goes we may miss out on CL, which would jeopardize our future for years to come.

honestly i have never seeen the club sink so low

Let's take a look? How successful has Juventus been since they sold Zidane to Real Madrid..It was rather Madrid that was the better team.......We don't need to sell Kaka..Money ain't everything...All my milan friends and friends that aren't milan supporters don't support this move....This is killing football!!! I was surprised when they said it cuz they always rivals with me when it comes to soccer!!! Kaka is the best player in the world...how do u sell ur star player or one of the most important player in ur team? I've been praying hard that milan don't make this move...and i hope that my prayers come to pass

Even if by some miracle this move does not go through, Kaka will be gone come summer. I think he's got the message pretty loud and clear. Milan don't value him and are willing to sell him, not only that, but force him out against his own will. He'll push for a move come summer, he won't want to stay where he is not wanted and frankly I don't blame him

real madrid won the CL with him, and a liga ten went downhill from there.

juve made a CL final losing in a shoutout, and won several scudetti.

they got buffon and nedved with that money, nedved won the ballon d'or a couple years after that.

The Kaka saga hasn't improved things; far from it, it's only completed the cycle.

What I don't quite understand is why nobody else sees that and only focuses on the Kaka thing.

Didafan tells Fishdoll that he can't really paint everyone with the same brush (fin?) by saying "nobody." I think there are many who would agree with this post or who are not busy crying their eyes out over Kaka 24/7, but are afraid of incurring the wrath of other posters. The Kaka news is huge enough that it's overshadowed everything else on this team.

However, he'll get no argument from me that the identity of this team is being dissolved before our eyes. Less than five years ago, we had some of the most recognizable names around, and you knew who they represented just by merely invoking their names. Maldini. Pippo. Sandro. Dida. Ambro. Even old warhorses like Rui and Stam. Now, we're an indistinguishable mix of irrelevant show ponies and unknown young signings who have a chance in hell of playing under Carlo. When someone says "Milan," I don't think Zambrotta or Favalli. I think of the guys I just mentioned before.

Anyway, in response to the heart of Fishdoll's post, I wasn't particularly high on Ronaldo coming here, but at the time he seemed motivated enough and gave us the shot in the arm to improve our CL fortunes. And the first thing he did was stick it to Inter in the derby with a goal. Then his knee was reduced to Shredded Wheat and it all went downhill from there.

However, I was adamantly against bringing in Ronaldinho and his pissass work ethic right from the start. There was a reason why Barcelona were more than happy to let him walk. It was after his arrival that you started hearing the "are we the new Galacticos?" chatter. One thing I've noticed: there are plenty of Ronaldo fans here (take a bow, acid) and other Milan forums, yet I have yet to see a staunch Ronaldinho supporter. And then Beckham...pfft, let's not even go there.

In the end, it's not Kaka's departure that frightens me. It's B&G's lackadaisical attitude about this team and the husk it will become unless we do something with that money.

But wait a second. We still have all that - we still wait for Pippo, we still wait for Ambro and Rino, still have Favalli around...all that.

1. Milan still standing

Why I said Milan is still standing? Because this place turned in the last 24 hours into Kakafan, and I think it's premature. I'm the kind off guy that wait's till the official site announces "AC Milan pushed out Kaka". Up till now we: 1) don't know what's going on at Milanello 2) We're even not sure if Kaka will leave (but okay, pretty much sure) - that said, I don't feel like screaming **** you to Berlusconi yet! Can you understand that?

Other then state "I'm not satisfied with the Kaka transfer" I don't see any alternative. As I said before, I don't feel the need to torture people with hysteric posts "how everything stopped".

2. MF or KF?

I hate the hypocricy and double-morale of this place here. I read day after day posts like "release Maldini", "**** off Favalli" and "***** Emerson". Okay, they (F+E) are not so important or good, but isn't it two-faced to call Milan to release players you don't care about, but as soon as your favorite golden boy is touched you turn the other side and say "Milan is ****, does ***** ******* B&G". I simply cannot digest this that easy. I know Kaka is more valuable then the rest, but still I cannot accept it with ease.

3. The board made mistakes.

Milan rightnow has many problems - first of all they're a team without a pilot. Berlusconi is too old, and I knew his victory in Italian elections wouldn't help either. Galliani, he functionated properly till the day Berlusconi lost control over him. After that, he proved to be human - made good and bad decisions. Our transfer policy is not really a policy - we have no course set - and this is because we tried to be different the other clubs. Sadly, I think we failed. Sadly. A solution will be, when a new board emerges.

In my understanding, Berlusconi has done enough for Milan to be respected and defended by me to the last breath!

4. The circus.

I cannot agree with that statement, but I can understand. I don't like Beck's either, I'm not that of a Dinho fan. I can understand that it's frightening imagine Milan's near future without Maldini and Kaka. But it's reality. What can we do? We can stop support Milan or digest it. The worst solution is to maintain cheer for Milan but hate almost everything around it - Ancelotti, 50% of the players, the board - and share that hate.

5. Stop watching football.

Is football dead? No.
Is football dying? Yes. And it's normal. Football reached decadent highs long time ago. It's not just about the money. It's more then that.

Translation

Manchester City its not the right team for Kaka', says "El Niño Torres"

"Manchester City is not the right team for Kaká. Seriously. How
can pay 100 million for Kaka? The big players want to win
trophies and Manchester City isn't even one of the teams that
compete for trophies in England. Are struggling to remain in the
Premier or to reach half of the table. "
"It would be a fantastic contract, but there are other things that are more
important than money. A player wants to be remembered for what he has
won. Imagine ten years after retiring, and back view
you're not in any photos that you have no medals, there is no
trophies. It's like playing for nothing, "said Torres.
"Just got a fantastic car, a fantastic house, but
what does it matter? You can have a better contract than your friends,
but no player looks back and says, 'I won more money, "
concluded.

+1 trillion!!

Very very very very very very very very well put!

The nightmare started with buying some old has-been only to sell jerseys and pour money into their pockets, continues with selling Kaka, and will probably end with signing Beckham on a permanent basis (I wonder if we're doing this to Kaka so we can meet Beckhams buy out clause rolleyes.gif)

If we sign Beckham permanently, it'd be more than obvious that people in charge of Milan have lost their minds.

Blog: Kaka's curse

If Kaka signs for Manchester City, it will be a disaster for all concerned and for football as a whole. Not only will it make nouveau riche sides with bored rich owners think they can just come and buy up stars as if they were browsing the Louvre for something to hang in the hallway, but it would also cut 99 per cent of clubs out of the future transfer market. Paying anyone that sum of money is ludicrous, but City aren’t the real targets of my rage today. I am looking straight at Milan.

Of course, Kaka doesn’t have to accept this step down – way down – in his career, but the way Milan have gone about this means the end is nigh. If he remains, then he will be fully aware the club no longer wants him despite his proven talent, work rate and loyalty. So come the summer when Real Madrid and Chelsea come knocking again, this time he’ll do what these sides always wanted and push the move through, presumably at a far lower price than Manchester City are currently offering. And, frankly, Milan will deserve it.

I want to say something...AGAIN!!!

If you keep track of Kaka's actions, when AC Milan played Manchester City last year, Kaka said that he loved the atmosphere there, etc, etc, etc.

Did you here Pato, Pirlo, Gattuso, anybody besides Kaka say that? He was already calling for this!!!

What were the reasons behind this?

When Real Madrid tried to catch him he didn't say NO right away. We was elusive and not clear in his answers. He said that Real Madrid would be a nice place to play. Well, I can buy that!!! Nobody can deny Real Madrid's history and trophies.

BUT MANCHESTER CITY?????

History?
No CL at least till 2010-2011?
Near relegation?
Trophies?

I DON'T THINK SO...WHO THE ELL WANTS TO GO AND PLAY THERE UNLESS IT IS FOR MONEY.

Promises of a big project?

Have you ever heard Kaka saying with such a great interest that Barcelona, Manchester United, Arsenal, or any other BIG team he has played against, is a great place to be besides Real Madrid.

MANCHESTER CITY????

I'm sad to say this but everything ends up in the same place: MONEY, MONEY, MONEY!!!

It's such a BIG OFFER for AC Milan to refuse. This is a team but is also a business. The truth is that Kaka himself was calling for this since last year. He caught interest in a team with no history, a team that may become successful only because of money and not because of brotherhood, heart and dignity. An ARTIFICIAL TEAM WITH NO SOUL...

JUST BECAUSE MONEY CAUGHT HIS ATTENTION ... HONESTLY I REALLY THINK HE WAS GUILTY FOR THIS ... JUST AS SHEVA DID IT IN THE PAST. HE IS GIVING EMPTY ANSWERS AND COMMENTS.

The big question we need to ask ourselves is if there's another reason besides the money that made him want to go out. There must be something besides the money that made Sheva and now Kaka want to move.

Sheva proved he committed a mistake and now Kaka is willing to do it too.

Again, the main reason for Kaka to leave is money ... he goes to church but he's not a saint, he's a human being and got tempted.

Money, money, money!!!

IF KAKA DOESN'T WANT TO GO THERE WHY HE HASN'T COME OUT AND SAY : "I DON'T WANT TO LEAVE, I WANT TO STAY HERE i LOVE MILAN"

WHY THE HELL WE HAD TO TRY TO UNDERSTAND WHAT HE MEANS WHEN HE TALKS: SAY YES OR NO. IF YOU DON'T SAY NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO ITS BECAUSE THERE'S A YES.

YOU BELONG TO MONEY. IF HE JUST SAYS NO AND THAT'S IT WE WILL ALL KNOW THAT BERLUSCONI'S GREEDINESS IS SELLING HIM NOT BECAUSE HE WANTS TO GO.
Panama Devil
ANOTHER THING AND I AM BEING STRAIGHT HONEST ABOUT THIS I SWEAR IT.

IF KAKA DOESN'T WANT TO LEAVE BUT AC MILAN STILL DECIDES TO SELL HIM I WILL STOP BEING AN AC MILAN FAN FROM THAT DAY ON.

THE REASON FOR ME BEING AN AC MILAN FAN IS BECAUSE OF BARESI, VAN BASTEN, MALDINI, COSTACURTA. BEING A FAN OF TEAM THAT DOESN'T TREAT HIS PLAYERS AS A SWEATER BUT AS A SON. IF THAT CHANGES NOW, THEN I'M OUT BECAUSE IT WILL BE THE SAME AS BEING A FAN OF REAL MADRID, INTER, CHELSEA, ARSENAL, ETC. IT WILL BE AS IF YOU SAW THE MOTHER OF YOUR KIDS GIVING A BJ TO YOUR WORST ENEMY. I WILL TOTALLY STOP WANTING TO HAVE HER NEXT TO ME. IF MILAN WANTS TO SELL KAKA FOR THE MONEY EVEN THOUGH THE PLAYER WANTS TO STAY... THEN IT WILL BE A GREAT DECEPTION FOR ME.

BELIEVE ME ... I'LL STOP BEING A FAN OF THIS TEAM EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY!!!!!

IF KAKA DOES WANTS TO GO AND HE'S JUST PRETENDING ... THEN I WILL STAY A MILAN FAN AND KAKA FOR ME IS GOING TO GO DIRECTLY INTO THE GARBAGE AND I WILL REMEMBER HIM WITH A BIG DOLLAR SIGN UNDER HIS JERSEY. WHY???? BECAUSE HE IS NOT GOING TO A GREAT TEAM ... HE IS GOING TO A CRAPPY TEAM THAT NOW HAS TONS OF MONEY!!!!!

HE WILL STOP BEING A GREAT PLAYER AND FUTURE LEGEND AND WILL TURN INTO A GOLD DIGGER BI@TCH THAT KNOWS HOW TO PLAY SOCCER.

I normally avoid goal.com because it's generally ridiculously unreliable. The article below, however, is surprisingly accurate. I've seen the quotes in Italian pieces. It's an interesting insight into what other Serie A coaches have said.

QUOTE
Serie A Coaches Give Take On Kaká Situation
This afternoon a number of Serie A coaches gave their opinions on the mega offer for Milan star Kaká from Manchester City.
»
While Milan's fans are still divided on whether the club should accept the 120 million euro offer for Kaká, most Serie A coaches believe that the Rossoneri would be wise to let him go for that kind of money.

"Since I work in the Italian league I would have liked to see the best players stay," said Inter coach José Mourinho. "But it's Kaká's life, he's a Milan player and they have to decide."

Juventus coach Claudio Ranieri said: "It would be too bad for our league, and Milan would be a different team without Kaká, but it remains to be seen what players they will buy if he leaves. Here at Juve there have been similar cases with [Roberto] Baggio and [Zinedine] Zidane. [Milan coach Carlo] Ancelotti has shown before he is a master at handling those situations."

"It's a difficult offer to refuse," said Lazio coach Delio Rossi. "When a club gets an offer like that it should think more than twice. It's up to the player to decide now, because the club cannot turn down an offer like that."

Roma boss Luciano Spalletti also thinks the player's will is decisive: "It's a difficult situation, Milan are one of the richest clubs in the world, but I think that Kaká's will will be decisive. But there's another problem: if you decide to keep the player at that price, what do you tell the others? Will you start paying them more?"

Palermo coach Davide Ballardini blasted the immorality of today's football: "Money doesn't count, it's a life choice. Frankly I think it's an absurd figure. There is less and less morality in football these days, it's disappearing. It wouldn't be bad thing to have some shame. But if Milan were offered that amount, I think they should sell him, because with that money they could build an excellent team."

Catania's Walter Zenga kept it short and light, saying: "If a proposal like that came for one of my players, I would put him on my shoulders and bring him there myself. We are talking about embarassing figures, how can you comment on something like that?"

The debate is sure to continue among fans and players alike, and it will be interesting to see how they react in tonight's match between Milan and Fiorentina at San Siro.
armiss
i cant hide my sadness and disappointment but if i only can be sure that this is Kaka decision for money i will not think even for a second to such a player, for me certainly if Milan continue to going down even the same as mid of 90's it would be more and more sweet than count on ...

Hughes - No quick Kaka deal
City manager reveals no personal contact with Kaka and slams speculation

Manchester City boss Mark Hughes has stressed that the potentially record-breaking Kaka deal will take time to be completed, if it does go through.

The Brazilian superstar is being linked with a £100million-plus transfer to the Eastlands club, but fans who expect to see Kaka arrive in Manchester over the next few days may well be disappointed.

"It's not going to be a deal that's done overnight," insisted Hughes to Sky Sports.

"It's not a case of just speaking to the club and speaking to the player and it's done in 48 hours, it's too complex and too large a deal to be able to do that in that short space of time.

"I'm sure it will take a lot longer than people anticipate it will, but we've shown our intent and we would like to bring him to the club if at all possible."

Long way to go
Despite the solid interest, Hughes has also revealed that the club have not yet spoken to the player himself, and any speculation over personal terms is wide of the mark.

"We've got a long way to go, a lot of bridges to cross before we even get to talk to the boy himself in regard to his personal terms," he added.

"I've been disappointed in fairness with the reaction in some parts to the prospect of Kaka coming here, and some of the discussions in relation to his prospective personal deal has been totally out of order.

"We're nowhere near that stage of discussing his deal - if he does get one - so for people to speculate wildly is totally out of order."

Just going to comment on the bolded part.

Yes we still have Pippo, Favalli and so on, but none of them came with a 100m price on their heads...

As for the rest of your post, very well put and well thought out, the rational part of me agrees with you, but the other part just wants to be p!ssed off because of the situation the management have put us in.

I was surprised when they said it cuz they always rivals with me when it comes to soccer!!! Kaka is the best player in the world...how do u sell ur star player or one of the most important player in ur team? +1 trillion!!

Very very very very very very very very well put!

The nightmare started with buying some old has-been only to sell jerseys and pour money into their pockets, continues with selling Kaka, and will probably end with signing Beckham on a permanent basis (I wonder if we're doing this to Kaka so we can meet Beckhams buy out clause rolleyes.gif)

If we sign Beckham permanently, it'd be more than obvious that people in charge of Milan have lost their minds.

I agree to with everything dst said.

Yes, there can be HUGE benefits with this deal. And as a fanboy, now perhaps there is enough moolah for Carlo to actually get who he wants. BUT this is not done.

I think it was aptly put by a fellow poster. This summer our heart retires. But this winter we've sold our soul. What is left? An entity? Another footballing organization, just like the other cash rich, trophy laden ones in the world? Why must someone support Milan now, other than force of habit? There are other clubs just like ours, who are winning and who have a history of winning.

If this sale goes through, Milan will have to start from scratch. Competing with other clubs, in the only area left, trophies.

It no longer matters about morality and 'family'. Everything has a price. Silvio's statement drove the nail. I understand his sentiments. Agents are like vultures, and I knew it would lead to a massive re-negotiation of contracts across the board. Soon Pato's agent will be knocking saying he wants a pay hike. I expect R80's brother to come down too. Perhaps even the multi-millionaire(before football) Pirlo will want a hike. Not because of the cash, but for the respect and equality. (Yes, it is the same reason for everyone else as well).

Their logic will be the same as Adebayor's in the summer. If other clubs want me for so much, then you should value me more.

But this is wrong. This is surely wrong. Nothing's the same anymore.

Pana,Zeddie? What say you and me go and cheer our hearts out for Hull City and Bilbao?

Jack, do you really believe with that money we will be able to get more than 2 world class players? if so, I suggest you to think again!

Have you seen this btw:

QUOTE
Newspapers have suggested a shopping list with the £108m, including Emmanuel Adebayor, Gael Clichy and Michael Essien, but Galliani warned the money would not be splashed out.

“It is impossible to replace Kaka and there is no point getting a second-rate player. If he leaves then we would go on without him, but Kaka has not left yet.”

Galliani sure knows how to piss people off. if he was in front of me, I'd have left a big mark on his face for saying this!! now I understand why he has bodyguards....

As for Bilbao, like dst said, what they're doing in "this" world, is priceless. I feel like concentrating a bit less on Milan and more on Bilbao after all this! seriously sleep.gif

They're MUCH, MUCH more of a family than we are now.

Actually I do. We're not gonna be buying Cristiano remember. We just need to pay more than our nearest rival.

For instance with Diego, we need to compete with Juve. Diego wants to leave we know that, and Juve would offer say 20 million? Bremen are going to lose him anyway, so if we can offer 25 he is ours! And this cash enables us to do exactly that, pay those small difference. Deal changers.

Dude..forget Galliani. It's all Silvio don't you see. The financial crisis has hit us ok? Banks will no longer offer us the same lines of credit. And remember clubs don't get paid till the end of the season. Till then they have to run right? Now if Silvio has told Galliani to run the club on his own, then certain decisions will have to be made. We could like some suggested sell off Emerson, Favalli etc... all the 'freeloaders', but that would probably pay two months of bills.

I think Pana is right. Finninvest has put the brakes on Silvio's expenditure.Remember it's not Silvio but Finninvest who run Milan and Finninvest board can outvote Silvio anytime. They allow him his little toys. Like Ronaldo for 10 million, but they're a company out to make profit. Sad as it is, I guess we should accept that.

I found this VERY interesting. It's an excerpt from yesterday's Guardian that was posted on R&B late last night.

QUOTE (The Guardian)
"The prospects of Kaká making a world-record January transfer from Milan to Manchester City appeared to be over last night after a highly placed source close to City's owner claimed widespread reports of a £100m bid were "absolutely ridiculous". Kaká himself is also understood to be deeply reluctant to join City – whatever the fee and salary package – unless there is a change of manager.

The adviser to Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, City's billionaire owner, told Observer Sport from Abu Dhabi last night that media coverage of City's offer for the Milan player, plus reported £500,000-a-week wages, was wildly unrealistic – giving credence to growing rumours in Italy that the story has been hyped up by Milan owner Silvio Berlusconi, in an attempt to earn good publicity when no move materialises and Kaká stays at the San Siro. First reports of the "£100m" bid appeared on a website owned by Berlusconi...."

It's not as if Berlu wrote the book on scruples to begin with, so why wouldn't he turn this into a political opportunity and paint Man City as the bad guys with their bloated asking price, then look like a hero himself when announcing that Kaka will be staying? Personally, I think it makes a load of sense.

Also, the one thing that kept me from taking this whole shebang seriously from the start was the 500k-a-week offer. No one in their right mind would spend $100+ million on a player and pay them a salary of $2 million a month. That's just ludicrous, no matter how fat your bankbook is.
