My question is (everything here is hypotetical, so is this question) - does Kaka reject to move to Manchester City or does he simply reject to move. Maybe the board felt Kaka will move eventually to Madrid who just cannot pay the same amount, so they accepted the mega-MC-bid?

If Kaka was so desperate to leave, why didn't he leave for Real two years ago [the offer back then was not that small after all...]. unless he is Nostradamus, how could he know that in a few years' time some Crazy Arabs will take over at City and make a +£100M offer for him?

So I don't think this is the case.
MizNelson
Corriere dello Sport (completely unreliable source for Milan news) reported that Kaka is demanding a 2010 release clause in his Man City contract, yadda yadda yadda.

Cesare Maldini: "Kaka leaving would be a big loss"

Alessandro Altobelli: "Kaka' would have agreed right away, had the offer been from Real Madrid".

Over the program on Al-Jazeera Sport, the two experts on Calcio gave their opinions on the situation this morning.

Cesare: "Kaka' leaving Milan is most definitaly a big loss from the technical aspect of things, Kaka' won everything with Milan since he first arrived, and the Champions League is the best example to elaborate on. This move has one side and one side only, that of the financial aspect, and had I been the club president and the club was in debt I would have sold him without even thinking twice!"

Alessandro: "Kaka' has his ambitions and aspires to play at big clubs, I think if the offer came from Madrid he would have accepted it. And if Kaka' doesn't move to Manchester City, the club would most likely raise his wages so that this never happens again, as Kaka' is considered the new face of Milan after Maldini."

If Don Cesare isn't sure about it, how could we be?
Tennie
We had an operating loss last year of somewhere around 20-25 million euros, I think. Compared to other big clubs, that isn't too terribly much and operating loss is not the same as debt. (can check the audit next week, but on dialup, I can't download the audit to look. the document is too big).

Let me ask this hypothetical question: what if Kaka's agent said 'okay, City are offering 15 million a year. we'd like that much from Milan'.

I believe Kaka is currently earning somewhere around 7 million (not sure on this, correct me if I'm wrong), which is the most by a good bit of anyone in the club. The club has traditionally had an internally set wage cap in which the biggest stars earned more or less the same amount, so as to keep peace in the dressing room. That particular rule has already been breached when Kaka got the raise up to 7 million.

Would you agree with the hypothetical request of Kaka's agent to essentially double his salary (which would see him earning more than double of any other player on the squad)? If you did, do you think it would have any effect on morale in the dressing room?

Who the hell is this guy anyway?

Like we don't remember Real made offers for him for two consecutive seasons and he is still playing for Milan.

QUOTE (Fillipo Simone @ Jan 17 2009, 02:59 PM) *
If Don Cesare isn't sure about it, how could we be?

Because Galliani said we are not! unless he.. lied [which I wouldn't rule out].
--
I clearly remember Galliani [or maybe - just maybe - Carletto] saying about Real's last summer offer that, if it was 100M, they would consider it. should explain why we are considering this one...
Zed.D
Tennie, correct me if I'm wrong, but Kaka is under contract and as long as the club wants him to, he must respect it. it's not like he's going to be a free agent this summer so Milan has to pay him whatever he wants or he will quit for a better paying club.

I agree with the hypothesis. however I disagree Kaka wants 15M from Milan. 1) the club would never do that nor are they able to; as far as I'm concerned 2) if he was after money he would have requested a move to Man City, he wouldn't have avoided it.
Tennie
I'm just tossing out a hypothetical situation, zeddie. I'm not sure that, if I were Milan's board, I'd agree to a request from any player that would see him earning...basically 3x what any other player is earning. Not saying that's what's going on, just speculating on a possible situation.

Blog: Kaka's curse[/b]

Usually a £107m transfer would have fans up in arms about mercenary players, but in Kaka’s case Susy Campanale pours scorn on the clubs
If Kaka signs for Manchester City, it will be a disaster for all concerned and for football as a whole. Not only will it make nouveau riche sides with bored rich owners think they can just come and buy up stars as if they were browsing the Louvre for something to hang in the hallway, but it would also cut 99 per cent of clubs out of the future transfer market. Paying anyone that sum of money is ludicrous, but City aren’t the real targets of my rage today. I am looking straight at Milan.

Kaka is not one of those players willing to throw a solid rapport away for the sake of cash. Regardless of how much City offered in wages, he would never demand a transfer for filthy lucre alone. He certainly wouldn’t go to Eastlands for the prestige of fighting against relegation and the hope of maybe in a few years qualifying for the Champions League. Even Ronaldinho turned them down! There is no reason on earth why Kaka would push for this transfer to go through. So why did Milan provide him with one?

In holding negotiations with Man City and letting him talk to the club, Milan have tacitly acknowledged they don’t really want him around. This, for someone who consistently rejected more tempting proposals from Real Madrid and Chelsea, must be heart-breaking. Ricky did not ask for any of this, but the Rossoneri have slapped him in the face, betraying all that talk of the side being “a family” the moment a new Brazilian walks through the door. Shame on you.

I understand many of you will point to the practicalities, the offer Milan cannot refuse, as with £107m they could rebuild an entirely new squad and begin a new era at San Siro with world class young talent. I heard similar statements at the time Andriy Shevchenko was sold for £30m and look how that turned out… Juventus could do it when they handed Zinedine Zidane to Real Madrid and used the cash for Gigi Buffon, Pavel Nedved and Lilian Thuram, but the Diavolo executives have shown they will always nibble stale bread in order to splash out on champagne.

Of course, Kaka doesn’t have to accept this step down – way down – in his career, but the way Milan have gone about this means the end is nigh. If he remains, then he will be fully aware the club no longer wants him despite his proven talent, work rate and loyalty. So come the summer when Real Madrid and Chelsea come knocking again, this time he’ll do what these sides always wanted and push the move through, presumably at a far lower price than Manchester City are currently offering. And, frankly, Milan will deserve it.

BREAKING NEWS: Berlusconi Confirms That He Will Sell Kaka

Kaka's move to Manchester City looks highly likely now after Don Silvio confirmed he will probably sell the Brazilian superstar...

Kaka has been associated with Manchester City for several months now, but over the past few days the chance of a blockbuster transfer has become more and more possible.

'Arabian Business' yesterday claimed that a deal had been sealed, which would see Manchester City pay Milan around €112 million, with Kaka earning €380,000 per week.

This front page story disappeared from www.arabianbusiness.com around an hour after first appearing, throwing talk of any confirmed move into severe doubt.

However, it seems that the transfer is now highly likely to take place after Milan President Silvio Berlusconi confirmed that he will probably sell the Brazilian.

"I will have to probably sell him," the Italian Prime Minister told La Stampa.

"City have made a really big offer to him, more than €15m after tax per year in wages.

"If i don't sell him then the balance of the team will go up in smoke. I risk losing him without earning anything from the deal. I just need to consider the fans and find a transfer hit...we'll see."

It remains to be seen how Milan fans will react to this news, especially as a large number of supporters took to the streets last night to protest against the transfer.

What is certain though is that Kaka is now highly likely to leave Milan for Manchester City.

That makes me want to puke.

I'm sure the tifosi will show their displeasure tonight and for many more games, although the ignorant money hungry whores in charge will blame everyone but themselves.

BTW I read a rumour that the management have been planning this since we signed R80.

Milan draw up £108m shopping list

As Kaka is pushed into accepting Eastlands, Milan are eyeing the likes of Emmanuel Adebayor and Michael Essien with their £108m bonus.

It is widely reported that the Rossoneri are the ones urging Kaka to make the January transfer to Manchester City, somewhat against the player’s wishes, as they want to cash in on this historic bid.

They are already drawing up a shopping list of where to spend the money and much of it will go to the Premier League.

Adebayor was in extensive negotiations with Milan in the summer before he opted to remain at Arsenal and the Italians went for Ronaldinho instead.

The 25-year-old Togo international would be available for around £30m, while Gunners teammate Gael Clichy is a bargain £12m.

The defence needs more restructuring than any other part of the team and Milan have already captured Thiago Silva – who won’t be available until the summer because of his non-EC status – and Felipe Mattioni.

In midfield Yoann Gourcuff will return from his loan spell at Bordeaux, having become a star of Ligue 1 during his time there.

As Gennaro Gattuso and Massimo Ambrosini are not getting any younger, it is believed another £30m bid for 26-year-old Chelsea man Essien is on the cards.

That was beutifully written, and the part about nibbling stale bread in order to pop open the champagne is a statement that hits the nail on the head.

Now lets see them open the San Siro and fire up the fireworks after this.

This whole thing is just making me want to puke. The fact that our golden boy is going to be pushed out of the back door by our management is disgusting.

If I were Kaka I would decline signing any contracts with Man City and then push for a way out to Real in the summer. The management have shown him complete disrespect during this whole saga, I would personally thoroughly enjoy it should he leave to Real in the summer for a much lesser sum. I know it would harm Milan but the management would deserve it after such greedy displays.

This coming from the people who pride themselves for being a family based club.

I'm hoping really hard that come tonight the curva will raise hell during the game, I'm pretty certain that Galliani won't even set foot in the stadium.

Anyway, friends of Milan, the club, like Maldini, Altafini, Rivera all agreed it's a bitter moment. Loosing a star player draws consequences. After the Berlusconi comment, I'm sure it's done. It's sad to part with our very best midfielder for years. A big thankyou is unquestionable.

All i have to say is that this is a situation that we should not have come to. It's all on the management's heads. Should we struggle to make it to the CL or not even make it, we'll know who to blame.

Then we'll see who wants to come to a team that cannot even reach the top 4 and treats their players like garbage that only deserve to be pushed out the back door. If we don;t make the CL that money we get from the Kaka deal could used as toilet paper.

Ronaldinho Begs Kaka To Stay At Milan

Ronaldinho is down on his knees, begging Kaka not to leave Milan for City...

Milan whiz Ronaldinho is begging Kaka to stay on at San Siro rather than sign a lucrative deal with Premier League side Manchester City.

'Dinho, who signed from Barcelona in the summer to link up with his Seleção teammate, is urging him to reject the Citizens. The Brazilian even insists that Kaka's move to City could end up costing his club plenty in terms of silverware.

He has issued one final call to Kaka asking him to stay, just as reports suggest Manchester City are on the verge of signing the Rossoneri midfielder in a deal worth over €150 million.

"Kaka, stay at Milan," Ronaldinho is quoted as saying in the Daily Star.

"Kaka's exit would be a disaster and we are desperate for him to stay so that we can win plenty of trophies.

"He is too important for us and he is the symbol of Milan. We want to get back into the Champions League and we need Kaka in order to do this."

For his part, Ronaldinho has been outstanding for Milan, but has been slapped with a three match ban in the Coppa Italia for his behaviour during the loss to Lazio last month.

I know you still stand on your pro management side, but I don;t understand how you could possibly still defend them after this. And yes they have treated Kaka like garbage, after he has done everything in the past to stay loyal to the club, even when we were involved in the whole calciopoli business and Real came knocking.

And now that an offer that they deam adequate has been recieved for him they don't find anything wrong with turning their back on the player and forcing him out to a club that he ABSOLUTELY does not want to join in exchange for money.

This is not what Kaka deserves after all he's done for the club. And like I said, I would greatly enjoy should Kaka refuse to sign for City then push his way out to Real in the summer for a lesser sum, I think that is something that our management should deserve after the way they've handled this. They talk about respect and values but they don't even know what either mean

I'm not pro-management. I'm just a realist.

Kaka is going away, I'm not a Milanfan because of him so I'm staying and chearing for Milan.
I think it was a mistake selling him, but that's were my responsibility and power ends. I don't live near berlusconi, so I can't drop by and say "you'r wrong with this one". And I'm not gonna loose my temeper either, cause it brings to nothing.

So, if the price of keeping Kaka were a 15m salary and discontent with the rest of the squad (which is how I read Berlusconi's statement), would it be worth it? That seems to me to be where Berlusconi isn't willing to go. Not saying it's right or wrong, but it's at least understandable.

I'm not saying I'm not going to cheer for Milan because at the end of the day they are the club I supprt. The management of the club is the problem here, like I said a million times, should they have turned down the offer like they have done in the past on multiple occasions then we would not be in this situation, plain and simple. It's as easy as that, the offer should have been rejected and none of these people would have come to play in this whole mess, Kaka has a contract with Milan, he's made it very obvious that he wants to stay.

What really angers me right now is the fact that he is being pushed out in exhange for money that cannot replace him in the team, both as a player and as a person, who I think is a great positive influence both in the dressing room and as a face of our team.

I think zd had the best response for your scenario Tennie. Kaka has a contract with Milan that should tie him down to 2013, that contract comes with a fixed salary that unles the club decides to renew the salary will stay as it is. Ad I'm pretty certain Kaka is not asking for that rediculous wage ammount, nor would he expect it, and the club would never offer to any player. He is happy with what he has with Milan which is a wage that is among the top in world football, fans who love him and well adjusted in the team.

Berlusconi is only saying what he wants people to here, he's not a billionaire and prime ministor for no good reason, he knows how to play with his words and feed people what he knows they want to hear.

If this had been rejected Kaka would have still been a Milan player with the same contract he has now, no bumper deals would have been made. And I;m pretty sure Kaka would not be expecting one. It's ridiculous to believe that selling Kaka would be for the good of the team, to me you're just picking at straws, trying to convince people of a positive in a sea of negative, a positive that doesn't even exist because this salary + team unrest is all BS.

Man City have no choice but to offer a player like Kaka that ammount of money because other then battling against relegation they have nothing else to offer him but the money.

Sadly it's not, if Milan sell Kaka it will not only be a disaster because we sell our best player, but it will be a disaster because everything that Milan stands for and what we love most about our club will be thrown down the drain along with my respect for the management.

Berlusconi does not say that Kaka asked to leave unless they'd pay him as much as City offered. And of course he does not cause it would be a lie. Personally I will not believe whatever they tell us cause it's more than clear to me that Milan decided not to turn down the offer and let Kaka go when he would not have pushed to go.

The only question is do you think Milan did right or wrong to accept this massive offer?

My answer is not direct but it's quite clear; Milan are supporting a family image... but they also think that even a family has a price.
Tennie
Don't think there's much proof of anything yet, either that he's being pushed out or that he's not asking for a big raise to stay. If someone can provide a quote, please do so. We're still working on a lot of speculation.

Exactly

This is going to be one sad night. I was eagerly waiting for this game all week and now I'm dreading it, because I know that this will be the last time we see Kaka play in the Milan shirt.

goal.com ran an article on this whole affair. Its titled "If Kaka Moves To Manchester City, Football Is Dead"

Its a powerful title and some of the stuff he says is true.

Milan should not escape criticism though. They have been tempted by the devil and, like Eve, they could not resist the juicy-looking apple. The second symbol of Milan, after Paolo Maldini, has been sacrificed for a pot of dirty money.

Sounds to me like this place has become AC Kaka.

Well, Kaka is our main player... However, we are AC Milan.

The problem throughout the world, as my dad says to me everyday, is management. The people who work in it are complete utter B******s. mad.gif

There is one clear thing about this saga - Kaka' is being forced to walk the plank when he doesnt even want to.

All us Milanfans want tonight is a Kaka' goal and an emotional celebration to end this fuss once and for all! wink.gif

Il Capitano
If Kaka leaves then the management sends a clear message that everyone in the squad is for sale if the price is right. Our management succumbing to the Lure of Money is something I thought would never happen. What was that BS about we don't sell our star players.

Well i think the message is quite clear now whether or not Kaka leaves.

Silvio coming out and making a "Bang for the buck" statement kinda took Milan in that direction.

I am sorry, but this is unbelivable!!

WHAT THE HELL IS GOIN ON?

120 Mill Euro or whatever they are bidding, its just another step in an inflationary world where next year it will be broken by some other transfer.

Whats is the difference to all the rejected Real Madrid offers, as far asi recall, they offered up to 70plus million, and it was always said.. we sell only if he wants to go... and now? What some more money makes our management change their mind... and from what we have heard... its not even him who wants to go!! I became a Milan fan, because this team is different to others with treating players... the word family springs often to my mind. And now what? WHAT HAS CHANGED???? What am i not getting here? We are a RICH club, NOT A SELLING CLUB! Sheva was another case... but this is jeust ridiculous! Its not like berlusconi doesnt have a few billion euros!!!

I AM SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO ANGRY! What do they think?

This deal includes something else... what do i know... OIL supply for Italy for the next 100 years may be... it just wont go into my head why they would sell a player like him, to a club like that, in the situation we are in, on his prime, with his influence, with his determination to Milan, with the fans love to him... IT JUST WONT GO INTO MY HEAD!!!

it is better to see SAN ZERO burning on fire tonight
